Description
Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to a method for producing adsorptive polymer film, which has a variety of applications, preferably for the manufacture of filtering protective clothing, which serves to protect against weapons of mass destruction, especially chemical warfare agents, and other pollutants in the atmosphere.
Adsorptive film equipped with activated carbon, in particular foam film, is known from DE-AS 2804154. In the manufacturing process, an aqueous-rich coarse-pored polyurethane foam with activated carbon particles is bombarded with the aid of an air stream. The activated carbon particles remain proportionally adhered to the surface of the film.
A material produced in this way has the following disadvantages:
The activated carbon particles only enter the open pores of the surface of the film.
Tragen der daraus hergestellten Schutzbekleidung) frei und fallen aus den Poren heraus, so daß die Schutzfolie auf mechanischem Wege inaktivThe activated charcoal articles only slightly adhere to the surface, work their way through the film (e.g., wearing the protective clothing made therefrom), and fall out of the pores so that the protective film becomes mechanically inactive
Due to the described disadvantages maintaining the protective activity of the material is problematic.
In DE-AS 2804154 the possibility is further mentioned that for the production of adsorptive film Adsorberkörner be added to the components of the foam carrier prior to foaming, although the intimate wetting of the adsorbent grains must be prevented.
This problem is not solved by DE-AS 2 804154, because the proposed method based on the above-described principle of shooting by means of an air flow.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention are polymer films with very good adsorption properties and good textil processability.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The object of the invention is the development of a production process for adsorptive polymer films. According to the invention the object is achieved in that an adsorbent having a particle size of 0.07 to 0.4 Tim is introduced into a polymer solution. Soluble polyurethanes are suitable for the process according to the invention in dimethylformamide. The solids content of the polyurethane in the solution is between 5 and 30% by mass, preferably between 10 and 25% by mass. The introduction of the adsorbent in the polyurethane solution by stirring, wrapping, impressions o.a. The concentration of the adsorbent in the polyurethane solution is 100 to 500% by mass, preferably 150 to 250% by mass, based on the solids content of the polyurethane solution.
According to the method according to the invention, the prestructuring of the polymer solution / adsorbent mixture takes place by adding 0.1 to 3.0% by mass, preferably 0.5 to 2.0% by mass, based on the solids content of the polyurethane solution, of a coagulant, if appropriate with the addition of 10 to 50% by mass, preferably from 20 to 40% by mass, based on the solids content of the polyurethane solution, of a foaming agent. The introduction of the coagulant, optionally of the foaming agent, in the polymer solution / adsorbent mixture is carried out by stirring, wrapping, impressions o.a. As a coagulant z. For example, water or a water / dimethylformamide mixture 'be used. The foaming agent used is a fatty alcohol mixture.
According to the novel process, the foaming of the prestructured polymer solution / adsorbent mixture takes place by stirring in, blowing in or pushing in air.
Surprisingly, it should be noted that the Ad.sorplionsmittelpartikel are not completely covered by the polymer solution, but are only partially retained by the foam. As a result, the fine-pored structure of the adsorbent can be fully utilized for adsorption. This proportionate coating of the adsorbent with Polyurothanschaum is functionally due to the surface tension of the foam on the adsorbent. Further influencing factors are the structure and composition of the polyurethane solution, the concentration of the adsorbent in the polymer! Solution, the ratio of the surface of the adsorbent to the inner surface of the polymer foam, the stability of the, foam and the manner of coagulation.
According to the process of the invention, the prestructured and foamed polymer solution / adsorbent mixture is applied to a substrate by doctoring, paddling, printing, spraying or the like. Non-woven fabrics, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, paper, metal, wood, glass or other, according to the preferred field of application, flame-resistant or non-combustible fabrics, preferably in web form, can be used as carrier materials. The process of the invention, the precipitation, which is the solidification and at the same time microporosation of the polymer foam / carrier material composite with a precipitant, optionally with the addition of a solvent made. The polymer foam forms in the interior of the layer communicating pores and Mikropore.i and binds the Adsorptionsmittelpartikel without wrapping them.
The remaining solvent is then washed out and dried the composite.
The polymer films produced by the process according to the invention show the following improved properties: The adsorbent particles are distributed homogeneously over the entire film thickness. The adsorptive polymer film has a significantly higher adsorption capacity per unit area than known films.
The Adsorptionsmittelpartikel are so firmly involved in the polymer backbone of the foam layer that they are not released under mechanical stress of the film and fall out. As a result, the adsorption capacity is retained when wearing the protective clothing made therefrom.
Thereafter, 5 wt .-% of a C, 8 -alcohol, which was dissolved in 6Gew .-% dimethylformamide added to this solution. Thereafter, with constant stirring, the addition of 16Gew .-% activated carbon. This mixed solution is then mechanically foamed by hand mixer until a liter weight of about 680 g / l is reached. The polyurethane foam produced in this way is applied by means of doctor blade on a glass plate with a film thickness of 1.8 mm. This film is coagulated in a water bath, washed out and then dried in air. On the resulting polymer film, the adsorption capacity was measured, which corresponds to a retention capacity of Dichlordiäthylsulfid of 100 minutes. The concentration acting on the underside of the polymer film corresponds to the size that occurs 2 mm above a Yperitspierel at a temperature of 26 0 C ± 1 0 C according to its vapor pressure.
Dieses Lösungsgemisch wird anschließend mittels Handmixer mechanisch verschäumt, bis zu einem Litergewicht zwischen 600 und 700g/l.60% by weight of a 25% strength polyurethane solution in dimethylformamide prepared according to DD-WP 130713, Example 1, 14% by weight of a DMF / water mixture (ratio 1: 1) are slowly added with stirring. Thereafter, this solution 5 wt .-% of a Ο, β-alcohol, which was dissolved in 26Gew .-% dimethylformamide added. Thereafter, with constant stirring, the addition of 30Gew .-% Kieselgei. This solution mixture is then mechanically foamed by means of a hand mixer up to a liter weight between 600 and 700 g / l.
The polyurethane foam produced in this way is applied by means of doctor blade on a glass plate with a film thickness of 1.8 mm. This film is coagulated in a water bath, washed out and then dried in air. An adsorption capacity of 400 minutes after the test conditions mentioned in Example 1 was determined on the resulting polymer film.
