Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to a process for producing an upper diffusion layer with increased physicochemical properties. In the chemical-thermal process, those obtained in a gas atmosphere layer by nitriding or the nitriding derivative treatments on the elements made of refractory steel or corrosion-resistant steel are achieved. The invention particularly relates to steels with an austenitic structure.
Charakteristik des bekannten Standes der TechnikCharacteristic of the known state of the art
For the successful performance of the chemical-thermal treatment of said steels, the elimination of the passive oxide layer formed on the elements at ambient temperatures, in particular during the heat processes of the chemical-thermal treatment, is required. The oxide layer, especially the chromooxide, is characterized by stability and is diffusion-impermeable. In nitriding and in the derivative processes, the oxide layer is produced as a result or as a result of the minimal moistening of the nitriding atmosphere and as a trace level of oxygen. In the previous methods of nitriding and in the derivative processes Depassivatore, z. As HF, MBr, NH 4 CI and other halide compounds have been used as additives for the gas atmosphere. These compounds are characterized by high toxicity, which represents the technical-ecological disadvantages of these processes. In addition, the depassivators introduced into the gas atmosphere cause the depassivation of the internal surfaces of the plant, in particular the retort in which the process takes place.
The entire surface of the chemically-thermally treated elements is depassivated. The further disadvantage of the use of depassivators is the condensation and their deposition during installation at the locations with temperatures below 300 0 C, which causes a change in the course and instability of the process. There is also known a process for sulfonitriding in which the addition of sulfur vapor to the atmosphere takes place. The partially dissociated ammonia has a reducing effect on the passivity of the oxide layer, which facilitates nitrogen diffusion of the treated element. However, this process is unsuccessful for austenitic steels.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
It is the object of the invention to apply a method for producing an upper diffusion layer, which makes it possible to apply the layers in an environmentally friendly and technologically advantageous manner.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The invention has for its object to provide a method for producing an upper diffusion layer with increased physico-chemical properties, with which the layers can be repeatedly applied with a high diffusion rate.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that prior to the chemical-thermal treatment, the surfaces on which the upper layer is to be formed, are depassivated, chemically activated and then electroplated with an iron layer. In the context of the invention, therefore, prior to the chemical-thermal treatment, the surface on which the upper diffusion layer is to be produced is depassivated and chemically activated and then galvanically coated with the iron layer. The produced iron layer does not inhibit the diffusion of nitrogen and other elements. The method is non-toxic and allows the achievement of the upper diffusion layer on the whole element or selected areas of the element. The other advantage of the invention is the increased diffusion rate of the nitrogen in the steel as well as a repetition of the layers achieved in comparison with other methods, which forms the favorable conditions for use in mass production.
