Anwendung nematische! flüssiger KristalleApplication nematic! liquid crystals
The invention relates to the use of ηematic liquid crystals in optoelectronic components for modulation of the transmitted or incident light and to the representation of numbers, characters and images.
Liquid crystals, especially those of the nematic type, have a characteristic anisotropy of optical, diamagnetic, and electrical properties. Because of these properties, nematic liquid crystals are successfully used for the production of optoelectronic devices for the modulation of light as well as for the representation of numbers, corpses, and images , Such devices are eminently suitable as "displays" for electronic watches, Hechnar and other microelectronic products.
Die Eigenschaften der Gemische können durch die Eigenart der Mischungskomponenteo weitgehendFor use in modern devices, new and increased demands are always placed on the liquid crystal substances used in the displays, the specific properties of these substances decisively determining the properties and possibilities of use of the displays. Since there is no pure connection that meets all requirements even close to, almost without exception, mixtures of multiple compounds are used. The properties of the mixtures can largely be determined by the nature of the mixture component
