The invention relates to a device for determining the pressure-dependent viscosity, in particular of high-polymer solutions and melts, in the case of pressure flows.
Charakteristik der bekannten technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
Plastics 35, 174 (1957); Westover, R.P., SPE Trans·, 1, 14 (1961); Autorenkollektiv, Prüfung hochpolymerer Werkstoffe, Leipzig 1977).Are known devices for determining the pressure-dependence of the viscosity in which using a capillary as a measuring system with a movable piston in a test chamber, the pressure build-up over the capillary at different pressure levels is generated by the fact that at the capillary a back pressure by a second arrangement test channel / piston is specified (I & xv / ell double-piston rheometer) · The pressure drop across the capillary and the volume passing through the capillary per unit of time, determined from the piston velocity, are the quantities used to calculate viscosity * The reference pressure for the viscosity is given by the backpressure and (the drop across the capillary medium value Maxwell, B 6, Jung, A., Kod Plastics 35, 174 (1957);. Westover, RP, SPE Trans ·, 1, 14 (1961); Autorenkollektiv, testing of high-polymer materials, Leipzig 1977).
; Klein, J., SPE Journal Dez. 1967 Se 4I - 45;It is also known to calculate the pressure dependence of viscosity from pressure loss - volume throughput - characteristics of capillaries of different geometry (length-diameter ratio) (Duvdevani, I.J. While in the determination of the pressure dependence of the viscosity by the former device, the Haxwell Doppelkoibenrheometer, a high technical effort, especially for the pressure application and the 'tempering of the device is required, the calculation of pressure coefficients from the measurement results of capillaries of different geometry requires prerequisites qualitative relationship between viscosity and pressure and the fulfillment of thermodynamic conditions of the flow (boundary conditions, dissipation), so that the pressure effect can not be separated by measurement in general «
Ziel der Erfindung .Object of the invention.
The aim of the invention is to provide a device for determining the pressure dependence of the viscosity, in particular of hoclipolymeric solutions and melts, which requires less effort, is easy to handle and allows the metrological separation of the printing effect.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Vorrichtung zur Bestimmung der Druckabhängigkeit der Viskosität zu entwickeln, die es gestattet, den Druckeffekt meßtechnisch abzutrennen« Es wird außerdem angestrebt, die thermodynamischenThe invention has for its object to develop a device for determining the pressure dependence of the viscosity, which makes it possible to separate the pressure effect metrologically «It is also desirable, the thermodynamic

According to the invention, the object is achieved in that two capillaries whose pressure difference - volume flow rate; Characteristics for the substance to be examined, depending on the temperature is known or previously determined, one above the other with insertion of an intermediate piece, e.g. be arranged in the form of an intermediate ring so that the lower capillary provides the back pressure for the upper capillary and from the pressure difference - volume flow - characteristic of the arrangement capillary - spacer - capillary and the pressure differences of the individual capillaries at the same volume flow and comparable temperature of the pressure effect is separated , The intermediate piece serves to receive the material strand emerging from the upper capillary in such a way that upon entering the lower capillary the structural conditions in the substance to be examined correspond to those which arise when the substance enters the capillary directly from the test channel.
In the accompanying drawing shows Figure 1: Ben schematic structure of the arrangement for determining the pressure dependence of the viscosity. According to the 5 1 IgUr 1, the arrangement consists of the upper capillary 1, the intermediate piece 2 and the lower capillary 3. To determine the pressure dependence of a substance, first the pressure loss - volume throughput - is determined for the upper capillary 1 and for the lower capillary. Dependencies determined in the specified temperature range in the capillary rheometer. Subsequently, the upper capillary 1, the intermediate piece 2 and the lower capillary 3 are introduced in the order listed in the capillary rheometer and at the same or

vergleichbaren Temperaturen die Druckverlust ~ Volumendurchsatz Abhängigkeit der Anordnung bestimmt·comparable temperatures determines the pressure loss ~ volume flow rate dependence of the arrangement ·
In the upper capillary 1 are due to the higher viscosity due to the higher pressure through the lower capillary 3, the pressure losses greater, so that the measuring device capillary - adapter - capillary at the same volume flow and the same or comparable 'temperature has a higher pressure loss, than from the addition of the separately determined pressure losses' for the upper and lower capillary and the intermediate piece results · The ratio of the pressure loss of the upper capillary with counterpressure by the lower capillary sum pressure loss or upper capillary without back pressure is a measure of the pressure coefficient of viscosity, reference pressure ^ is the pressure loss of the lower capillary plus the average pressure loss of the upper capillary e The larger the pressure coefficient and the greater the back pressure through the lower capillary, the greater the measuring effect. If significant warming of the material by dissipation occurs during the measurements, this is mathematically taken into account in the case of known thermodynamic characteristics of the capillary, based on average temperatures between inlet and outlet temperature for the upper capillary and the pressure loss of the lower capillary at the outlet temperature of the upper capillary becomes.
On the other hand, the dissipation can be determined by attaching one or more Temperaturrneßstellen in the spacer and taken into account in an analogous manner as in known thermodynamic characteristics »The dimensions of the intermediate piece are dependent on the material to be examined and the stress conditions. For example, in polymer melts, the inner diameter of the intermediate piece is up to more than 10 times the upper capillary diameter, and the spacer length is generally greater than the diameter of the intermediate piece.
