Abstract
Process for the flameproofing of cellulose-based articles, in particular artificial silk hair wigs, paper decorations and similar articles, which are usually not subjected to a washing treatment during use. The goal is to provide absolute security when handling such items. For this purpose, a reasonably priced impraining suitable for the purpose of use was to be found which, with regard to its flame retardancy properties, corresponds to the effect of the otherwise known high quality organic compounds for this purpose. The Kunstseiden- or paper articles to be rubbed are impregnated with a water solution containing each 1 to 12 wt .-% borax (sodium tetraborate) and ammonium bromide, and then dried. The invention is applicable to the production of carnival and decorative articles.

The invention relates to the flame retardance of articles consisting essentially of cellulose, which due to their short life are generally not subjected to any act of violence, in particular of carnival articles and decorations.
The invention relates above all to the finishing of carnival wigs and beards made of non-synthetic hair, and also of paper products, such as, for example, lanterns, garlands and the like.
Charakteristik der be kannte ή technischen'LosungenCharacteristic of the known "technical" solutions
Hierzu gehören ßorax, ferner Ammoniumphosphat·, Ammoniunichlorid (vgl· R« Kirchrnayr, Kunststoffe 86 (1976), η· ΙΟ-» S. 681)-, Zinkchlorid (DE-OS 1 813 o21) und andere«While almost exclusively certain organics are suitable for a generally desired permanent flame retardancy of cellulosic textiles and articles, equipment with various inorganic salts is also known. These include thorax, and also ammonium phosphate, ammonium dichloride (cf. Kirchrnayr, Kunststoffe 86 (1976), et al., P. 681), zinc chloride (German Offenlegungsschrift No. 1,813,221) and others.

The flame-retardant effect of this inorganic salt © however - even apart from their lack vvaschbeständigkeit - very limited On Products made from cellulose such as ζ <> β <= paper or artificial silk hair, can be reached though a delay of inflammation, but will burn the object After a long period of flannelling, more or less completely *
In order to ensure an actual security it was therefore considered necessary to manufacture used for carnival decorations paper from a mixture of cellulose and non-combustible fiber material and then subsequently impregnate this in a known v / else with an inorganic salt "(DE-OS 1817535) o
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention is to -believe cellulosic articles, which are usually subjected to no washing treatment due to their short-lived, in particular Föschingsdekorationen and wigs, absolutely flame-resistant and thus to ensure complete safety in dealing with such articles * note It is also the case that the optical quality of the pcrückenhaares may not be affected by visible deposits or matte effects »

The closest technical solution is the reference cited in the description (3), in which a ternary mixture of ßorax-, ammonium phosphate and ammonium chloride is mentioned for finishing fabrics. Other references criticize the wet treatment with inorganic salts; Instead of inorganic ammonium salts, ammonium salts of organic sulfonic acids are proposed as impregnating agents (German Offenlegungsschrift No. 1,619,152). Partially, a non-aqueous treatment of the cellulose textiles with a solution of zinc chloride in organic solvents is also recommended (German Offenlegungsschrift No. 1,813,021).
The impregnation with diammonium hydrogen phosphate is used for flame retardant finishing of Faschingsdeokrationen from paper only as an additional measure, nor a general flammability of the used paper material as such (production by use of non-combustible fibers) , (DE-OS 1 817 535).
