b) Anwendungsgebiet der Erfindungb) Field of application of the invention
The invention relates to a method for improving the physical quality of mineral fertilizers according to patent 136,956, which are in granulated form.
c) Charakteristik der bekannten technischen Lösungenc) Characteristic of the known technical solutions
Mineral fertilizers accumulate in different grain sizes depending on the manufacturing technology chosen. Fine-grained products are then coarsened in downstream process stages to make them easier to handle during storage, transport and spreading. The coarsened products, also known as coarse or granulates, consist of angular grains that form abrasion during handling and transport due to mechanical stress. This abrasion is inadmissible undersize and leads to dusting of the products.
It is known to improve the strength and the abrasion behavior of granules by a process step downstream of the granulation process. The granulate aftertreatment takes place in several technological sub-steps. First, the granules by a. Action with strong air currents the adhering dust. withdrawn. The now uniformly moist granules are dried and cooled in a second fluidized bed apparatus. The granules thus treated are generally more resistant to abrasion and non-dusty. The effect is not always optimal.
d) Ziel der"Erfindung ' ' ·\-d) The aim of the "invention" ·
The object of the invention is to further improve the abrasion resistance and the dust behavior of mineral fertilizer granules and thus to increase the effect of granule aftertreatment.
e) Darlegung des Wesens der Erfindunge) Presentation of the essence of the invention
The object of the invention is to bring the granules to be subjected to a post-treatment with water or aqueous solutions to an initial temperature guaranteeing the optimum effect.
It has been found that granules which are subjected to a post-treatment with water or aqueous solutions, surprisingly experience the greatest increase in abrasion resistance, when the granules at the time of liquid addition has a certain temperature · This optimum temperature ensures the maximum separation of edges and peaks , the uniform distribution of the solution over the entire granule surface, the penetration of the solution into cracks and crevices, and the least possible use of liquid.
It has also been found that after the addition of water or aqueous solutions, the granules must be left in an atmosphere of high water content for a sufficient time to obtain a high increase in strength.
Therefore, the liquid is added to the granules before entering the mixer in order to use the entire effective volume of the apparatus for the action of moisture. The residence time of the granules in a humid atmosphere must be at least 1o seconds.
The invention will be explained in more detail in the following embodiments.
The hot granules coming from the granulating plant are dedusted in a fluidized bed apparatus. The size of the Anstrombodens, The formation of the upper part of the fluidized bed apparatus' and the flow velocity of the fluidized air medium are chosen so that the entering at 18o ° C granules in the fluidized bed apparatus is cooled to 9o ° C. The apparatus is thereby operated with outside air, if necessary with cooled air.
Die We; erfolgt dann in bekannter Weise. The amount of air required to pay the granules to 9o ° C is greater than the amount required for dedusting. The benefit of this · additional effort lies in a clean puncture of the • downstream mixer and the associated dedusting Furthermore, the mixer is relieved of the vapor, which inevitably arises when the granules with temperatures above 1oo ° G is introduced. The We; then takes place in a known manner.
