Abstract

A detergent dispenser comprising a first part (2) in the form of a closure which normally serves to seal a detergent container, the closure having a closed top (4), a dependent skirt (5a, 5b) and an open mouth (6), and a second part (3) which is releasably engageable with the closure over its open mouth, the second part having an aperture (15) for dispensing detergent.

Description

The present invention relates to a detergent dispenser container, and more particularly to a liquid detergent dispenser container.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Before washing in a household automatic washing machine, it is often useful to apply detergent to soiled clothing, such as cuffs and collars, before placing the laundry in the washing machine. It is an object of the present invention to provide a new coating container of the above type.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention provides a dispenser as defined in claim 1 and a method of treating soiled items of laundry as defined in claim 5.

In a preferred embodiment, the closure has an external thread for screwing the closure onto a detergent container.

The second part is preferably in the form of a low cap with an internal thread which fits into the external thread of the closure.

The closure and lid preferably have a corresponding arrangement to allow the lid to be attached or detached from the closed top of the closure. The opening in the lid is preferably in the form of an elevated funnel formed at the top of the lid.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

One embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example and corresponding drawings.

As shown in the drawings, the dispensing container 1 comprises one cap-shaped portion 2 and a second cap-shaped portion 3.

The closure 2 is formed from an upper part 4 provided with a dependent casing formed from the upper and lower parts 5a and 5b. The lower portion 5b forms an open neck 6 of the cap and is provided with an external thread 7 to allow the cap to be screwed on and sealed to a suitable container, such as a liquid detergent bottle (not shown). The closure 2 therefore normally serves to close the detergent bottle.

The top of the closure is provided with a circular recess 8 which surrounds a centrally located projection 9 (see FIG. 6).

The cap 3 has an upper portion 10 and a narrow skin 11 attached thereto. The skin 11 has an internal thread 12 (FIG. 6) which corresponds to the external thread 7 on the cap 2. At its apex 10, the cap 3 has an elevated arcuate funnel 14. provided with an opening 15.

On the underside of the lid 3, arcuate wings 16 are arranged in the shape of a circle, which correspond to the shape of the projection 9 at the top of the closure 2.

The wings 16 have a shape such that they engage the edge portion of the protrusion 9 when the lid is placed on top of the closure 2. In this way, the lid can be releasably attached to the closure 2 at rest (see FIG. 2).

In use, the closure 2 can be removed from the bottle, inverted and filled with detergent from the storage bottle. The cap 3 can then be attached in the working surface to the cap by screwing the cap onto the cap 7 of the cap (Fig. 3). The detergent can then be applied through the aperture 15 in the lid 3 on contaminated clothing parts such as cuffs and collars.

Thus, the invention provides a useful dispensing device useful in laundry washing.

Many other embodiments of the invention can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as described in the appended claims.

1. A detergent dispenser container comprising one portion in the form of a closure that normally serves to close a detergent container, the closure having a closed top portion, a casing attached thereto, and an open throat, and a second portion comprising a closure. a detergent dispensing opening which can be releasably connected to the closure at the location of its open mouth, wherein the detergent lid opening is in the form of an elevated funnel formed at the top of the lid. Dispenser according to claim 1, characterized in that the closure has an external thread for screwing the closure onto a detergent container. 3. Container for application according to claim 2, characterized with it that e the second part is ve low lid shape with internal threaded, that fits to external thread on the cap. The dispenser of claim 3, wherein the closure and lid are of a matching shape to allow releasable attachment of the lid to the closed top of the closure. A method of treating contaminated clothing parts with a liquid detergent disposed in a bottle closed with a dispenser cap according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that 5 the cap is removed from the bottle, inverted, filled with detergent from the bottle, a cap is attached to the mouth of the cap and a detergent is applied through a hole in the cap to the soiled garment.
