Abstract
Η εφεύρεση αφορά σε μία διάταξη και μία διαδικασία για την ελάττωση του μονοξειδίου του άνθρακα, των υδρογονανθράκων, των οξειδίων του αζώτου και των σωματιδίων αιθάλης στα απαέρια των πετρελαιοκινητήρων, η οποία συμπεριλαμβάνει 1. έναν καταλύτη οξείδωσης του πετρελαίου για την οξείδωση του μονοξειδίου του άνθρακα, των υδρογονανθράκων και του μονοξειδίου του αζώτου, 2. μία πρώτη διάταξη για την προσθήκη αμμωνίας και/ή μίας ενώσεως, η οποία δύναται να αποσυντεθεί σε αμμωνία, στο προς κάθαρση απαέριο, 3. έναν καταλυτικώς ενεργοποιημένο ηθμό διήθησης των σωματιδίων με γεωμετρία, η οποία εξαναγκάζει τη ροή των απαερίων να διελαύνει από τα τοιχώματα του υποστρώματος που εμπεριέχει και ο οποίος προάγει την επιλεκτική καταλυτική αναγωγή των οξειδίων του αζώτου σε άζωτο, 4. μία δεύτερη διάταξη για την προσθήκη αμμωνίας και/ή μίας ενώσεως, η οποία δύναται να αποσυντεθεί σε αμμωνία, στο προς κάθαρση απαέριο, καθώς και 5. ένα καταλύτη για την επιλεκτική καταλυτική αναγωγή των οξειδίων του αζώτου σε άζωτο, καθώς και μία διαδικασία για την κάθαρση των απαερίων των πετρελαιοκινητήρων με τη χρήση της εν λόγω διάταξης.
