Abstract

Στο περιφερικό αίμα γυναικών που κυοφορούσαν έμβρυα με τρισωμία 21 (σύνδρομο Down), διαπιστώθηκε ότι η πρωτεΐνη Serum amyloid Ρ-component (SAP, SAMP, SwissProt No: P02743) εμφάνισε ποσοτικές ή/και ποιοτικές διαφορές σε σχέση με το περιφερικό αίμα γυναικών που κυοφορούσαν χρωμοσωμικά φυσιολογικό έμβρυο. Έτσι, η πρωτεΐνη αυτή μπορεί να αποτελέσει στόχο και να χρησιμοποιηθεί ως δείκτης για την προγεννητική εκτίμηση ή/και διάγνωση της τρισωμίας 21 με μη επεμβατικές τεχνικές.
