Abstract

The invention relates to a process for producing high-strength gypsum construction elements, in particular gypsum construction panels, which can be used for new construction and reconstruction in the field of residential, communal and industrial building. Using a new production process, the aim is to produce an inexpensive, easily worked gypsum-bound construction element in which fine wood particles, which are produced in large amounts as waste product, can be used to improve the properties. The aim is to produce large surface-area, thin-walled high-strength gypsum construction elements with a dry bulk density of between 1.3 and 1.8 kg/dm<3>. With the use of known process steps in the production of gypsum construction elements in which according to the invention wood particles with a size ratio of length: width: thickness = 1:1:0.1-0.2 in the millimetre range and the gypsum in a weight ratio of 0.1-0.3 based on their dry weights, the wood particles being impregnated with water such that a water/gypsum value of 0.2-0.3 is achieved, are mixed with one another in a free-flowing form and subsequently pressed.
