D:o bubnů se k předmětům přidávají omílací tělíska. Omílá se ža sucha nebo za mokra přidáním, vody. Pro urychlení omílacího procesu se používají různé chemikálie. Tyto jednoduché bubny se dnes již stávají zastaralými. Poměrně dokonalá jsou vibrační rotační zařízení. Náplň v těchto zařízeních je stejná jako v bubnech.
