Abstract

El presente invento consiste en el uso de un actuador rotativo de control acoplado a un mecanismo sinfín-corona para modificar la relación de transmisión mediante la variación de la velocidad en la corona del mecanismo epicicloidal. La CVT propuesta se caracteriza por ser un sistema mecánico combinado con un motor de baja potencia, el cual sirve como posicionador. El diseño de esta invención está basado en el uso de un actuador rotativo de control sinfín-corona en lugar de la tradicional transmisión variable continua de poleas o la transmisión variable continua toroidal, para modificar la relación de transmisión mediante la variación en la velocidad de la corona del mecanismo epicicloidal. Esta transmisión continuamente variable no requiere de embrague alguno para poder variar la relación de cambio o transmisión en todo su rango de operación. El invento no utiliza las fuerzas de fricción intencionales con el objetivo de transmitir la potencia de entrada a la salida distinguiéndose de las ya existentes que se basan en elevadas fuerzas de fricción como medio para lograr transmisión de torque o velocidad.
