Abstract

La invención se refiere a un clavo intramedular para ser insertado en un hueso largo fracturado, por ejemplo un fémur, que comprende: una varilla (2) que se extiende entre la parte proximal (3) y una parte distal (4); un manguito tubular (5) en el que la varilla (2) se inserta coaxialmente; por lo menos un primer par de medios de expansión (12) ubicados en la parte distal (4) de la varilla (2), los medios de expansión (12) están hechos de un material con memoria de forma con el fin de asumir una primera configuración de descanso en la que éstos se disponen dentro de huecos en la pared lateral del clavo (1), y una segunda configuración de uso en la que los medios (12) se encuentran proyectándose de la pared lateral del clavo (1); ranuras (55) están presentes en el manguito tubular (5) en correspondencia con los medios con memoria de forma (12) para permitir la sujeción en el hueso cuando los medios asumen la segunda configuración de uso; en donde la varilla (2) comprende en correspondencia con el extremo proximal (3) un canal transversal (6) para el paso de un tornillo de tope (S), el manguito tubular (5) comprende un par de aberturas opuestas (7a, 7b) colocadas en alineación con el canal (6); y en donde la parte distal (4) de la varilla (2) no tiene ningún canal pasante para un tornillo.
