Abstract

Un equipo para el tratamiento biológico de aguas residuales quecomprende: un tazón que tiene una entrada de aguas residuales en un extremo y una salida para aguas residuales tratadas en el otro extremo; una región de aireación para aireación de aguas residuales recibidas en el tazón; una región de clarificación para clarificar aguas residuales aireadas; una pared que separa la región de aireación y la región de clarificación y que proporciona un pasaje para permitir que las aguas residuales aireadas pasen desde la región de aireación dentro de la región de clarificación; un equipo de retiro de sedimento en la región de clarificación que tiene un ducto fijo de retiro de sedimento para retirar sedimento que se ha asentado de las aguas residuales durante la clarificación; y por lo menos un equipo de difusores de aire distribuidos a través de la región de clarificación para agitar periódicamente sedimiento que se ha asentado en la región de clarificación en lugares lateralmente espaciados del ducto fijo de retiro de sedimento para facilitar el retiro de sedimento mediante el ducto fijo de retiro de sedimento. 1Un método para el tratamiento biológico de aguas residuales que comprende los pasos de: introducir aguas residuales dentro de un tazón; airear las aguas residuales con difusores de aire en una región de aireación del tazón; pasar las aguas residuales aireadas a una región de clarificación del tazón; clarificar las aguas residuales en la región de clarificación; retirar sedimento de la región de clarificación a través de un equipo de retiro de sedimento que tiene un ducto fijo de retiro de sedimento; y activar periódicamente un equipo de difusores de aire en lugares lejanos del ducto fijo de retiro de sedimento en la región de clarificación para agitar el sedimiento que se ha asentado o depositado en esa región pero no ha sido retirado mediante el ducto de retiro de sedimento para facilitar el retiro del sedimento a través del ducto fijo de retiro de sedimento.
