Abstract

The present invention corresponds to a particle collector mechanism comprising a first hood connected to a cover of a polisher, where the cover covers a polishing element of the polisher. Additionally, the particle collection mechanism has a solids collection mechanism connected to the first hood; and a fan that has a suction connected to the solids capture mechanism. The first hood, solids capture mechanism, and fan are assembled to the chassis of the polisher. The particle collector mechanism allows the capture of solid contaminants released by the polishing element from surfaces to be polished, for example floors and slabs. In this way, solid contaminants are prevented from reaching the airways of people located in the surrounding environment of the polisher.
