Abstract

本实用新型涉及一种柔性扁平线缆连接器,包括设有收容槽的绝缘本体和若干个收容并固持导电端子的沟槽,导电端子具有一个固持在绝缘本体中的固定臂和一个延伸至收容空间的弹性臂。收容于绝缘本体收容槽中的传动装置包括一个可插入收容槽中的舌部,该舌部具有一个可固持柔性扁平线缆导引端的顶面,在舌部的底面设有若干个隔离槽,以导引收容端子的固定臂,并可导引传动装置插入绝缘本体及减少传动装置的横向振荡。

Description

柔性扁平线缆连接器
本实用新型涉及一种柔性扁平线缆(flat flexible cable,FFC)连接器,尤其是指一种具有可排列端子且结构稳定的柔性扁平线缆连接器。
柔性扁平线缆广泛应用于连接元件,其可通过焊接直接与印刷电路板连接,换句话说,柔性扁平线缆连接器可用于将柔性扁平线缆连接到印刷电路板上。美国专利第5,194,017、5,308,262、5,401,186与5,474,468号案揭露了柔性扁平线缆连接器的相关案例。
柔性扁平线缆连接器包括一个容置有若干个导电端子的绝缘本体,而绝缘本体设置有暴露开口的收容槽,顶面则设有凹槽以收容有经由开口插入收容槽中的柔性扁平线缆。当柔性扁平线缆被传动装置收容于收容槽中时,端子则延伸至收容槽中并与柔性扁平线缆电性接合。另外,传动装置在相对边上设有侧边卡锁以与绝缘本体相应的突起部接合,从而确保传动装置插入绝缘本体。
但是,在插入绝缘本体过程中,传动装置不仅是移入到收容空间中,而且还相对于绝缘本体沿横向方向振荡甚至可能歪斜。对于传动装置的振荡或歪斜,若不适当控制,则可能导致侧壁卡锁损坏或破裂,更严重的是,现有柔性扁平线缆连接器由于不具有将传动装置合适导引至绝缘本体中的导引装置,因此在传动装置与导电端子间可能发生不可预料的机械抵触。
本实用新型的目的是提供一种柔性扁平线缆连接器,该柔性扁平线缆连接器包括可减少传动装置横向振荡或歪斜的装置、可适当排列传动装置与组装在绝缘本体中的导电端子的装置和当传动装置与绝缘本体接合时可稳定导电端子的装置。
本实用新型是通过以下的技术方案来实现的:柔性扁平线缆连接器包括有绝缘本体,该绝缘本体设有若干个沟槽以收容和固持导电端子,而每一个端子则具有一个固持在绝缘本体中的固定臂和一个延伸至收容空间的弹性臂。绝缘本体上还设置有收容槽以可动式收容传动装置,传动装置具有可插入至收容空间的舌部,该舌部具有上表面以固持柔性扁平线缆的导引端,同时当舌部插入到收容槽中时,柔性扁平线缆系与端子的弹性臂电性接合。在舌部的底面还设有若干个隔离槽,以导引收容端子的固定臂,并导引传动装置插入绝缘本体及减少传动装置的横向振荡。
与现有技术相比,本实用新型柔性扁平线缆连接器可减少传动装置横向振荡或歪斜,并可适当排列传动装置与组装在绝缘本体中的导电端子,当传动装置与绝缘本体接合时还可稳定导电端子。
下面结合附图和实施例对本实用新型作进一步的说明。

图3是本实用新型柔性扁平线缆连接器的传动装置底视立体图。

请参照图1、图2,本实用新型柔性扁平线缆连接器10包括有绝缘本体12,该绝缘本体12设有若干个隔开的沟槽14以收容并固持导电端子16(图4和图5示)。收容空间18(图4和图5示)设置在绝缘本体12中,其暴露至前表面20,以可动方式收容一传动装置22,而传动装置22在开启位置(图2和图5示)和闭合位置(图1和图4示)相对于绝缘本体12是可移动的。
如图4和图5所示,每一个端子16包括一个抵接在相应沟槽14中的固定臂80和一个对应弹性臂82,该弹性臂82具有倒钩形自由端84并延伸至收容空间18中。端子16具有尾部85,该尾部85延伸至绝缘本体12外以可焊接至印刷电路板上(未图示)。
请进一步参阅图3,传动装置22由绝缘材料制成,并在其相对末端上设置有两个侧边卡锁24,而一对倒钩29则形成于侧边卡锁24的自由端上并向内延伸,另外,侧边卡锁24可动式地收容在导引槽26中(图2示),而导引槽26则设置在绝缘本体12的相对末端,以导引传动装置22与绝缘本体12间的相对移动。在每一导引槽26中设置有突起部28(图2示),该突起部28可与相对应的侧边卡锁24的倒钩29接合,从而可在闭合位置固持传动装置22。此外,在绝缘本体12的导引槽26中形成有一突起部为形状的阻壁(未图示),该阻壁亦可与相对应的侧边卡锁24的倒钩29相接合,以阻止传动装置22从绝缘本体12中脱开。
传动装置22包括一个基部30和一个可收容于绝缘本体12收容空间18中的舌部32,该基部30设置有上凹槽34以收容并支撑柔性扁平线缆36(图4和图5中的阴影线)。如图4所示,当传动装置22移入闭合位置且舌部32插入到收容空间18中时,柔性扁平线缆36延伸至舌部32上,而柔性扁平线缆36的导引端则移入至收容空间18中,并与相应端子16的倒钩形自由端84电性接合。
请参阅图5,当传动装置22位于开启位置时,舌部32形成有一个倾斜上表面38,而在上表面38和端子16的倒钩形自由端84间则形成有一个缺口40,以收容柔性扁平线缆36的导引端。如图4中所示,基部30具有一个挡壁42,当传动装置22移入闭合位置时,该挡壁42与绝缘本体12的前表面20相邻接。
与端子16固定臂80相对应的舌部32的底面46上设置有若干个隔离槽44,当传动装置22从开启位置移入闭合位置时,固定臂80则收容于隔离槽44中,以相对于绝缘本体12导引传动装置22的移动,且可防止传动装置22相对于绝缘本体12的侧部移动。此外,在传动装置22与绝缘本体12的接合过程中,隔离槽44与端子16固定臂80的接合同样适合于稳定端子16。

Claims (7)

1.一种柔性扁平线缆连接器,包括绝缘本体,其上设有收容槽并固持有若干个导电端子,而每一个端子具有一个固定于绝缘本体中的固定臂和一个延伸至收容槽中相应的弹性臂,其特征在于:该柔性扁平线缆连接器包括有可在闭合位置及开启位置间移动的传动装置,该传动装置包括一个收容于收容槽中的舌部,舌部上设有可固持一部分柔性扁平线缆的上表面,而在舌部的底面则设置有若干个与端子的固定臂相对应的隔离槽,当舌部从开启位置移至闭合位置时,端子的固定臂则收容在隔离槽中。
2.如权利要求1所述的柔性扁平线缆连接器,其特征在于:传动装置具有两个侧边卡锁,其以可动方式收容在设置于绝缘本体相对端的导引槽中。
3.如权利要求2所述的柔性扁平线缆连接器,其特征在于:每一个侧边卡锁具有一个向内的倒钩,以选择性地与形成在相对应的导引槽中的突起部相接合。
4.如权利要求1所述的柔性扁平线缆连接器,其特征在于:每一个端子的弹性臂具有一个可与柔性扁平线缆电性接合的倒钩形自由端。
5.如权利要求1所述的柔性扁平线缆连接器,其特征在于:传动装置设置有一个可固持柔性扁平线缆的凹槽。
6.如权利要求1所述的柔性扁平线缆连接器,其特征在于:舌部顶面是倾斜的。
7.如权利要求1所述的柔性扁平线缆连接器,其特征在于:每一个端子都包括一个延伸至绝缘本体外的尾部。
