Background
All the generic devices currently used for this purpose have major limitations and drawbacks.
First, they almost completely cover the face of the user, thus having a significant impact on social and personal relationships, as occurs during recent pandemics, in which case it is also not possible to present the face of a parent or friend to dying people.
Similarly, in terms of language communication, even for people with hearing impairment, masking prevents reading lips and conceals emotional states.
Furthermore, most masks in use adhere tightly to the epidermis of the face, thus often causing allergic phenomena to the most sensitive skin.
This close attachment to the mouth and nose can cause accumulation of bacteria, fungi, viruses near the inhalation area.
In such long use, the warm exhaled air causes the temperature in the mask fabric around the face to rise, form moisture condensation, accumulate microorganisms, and all of these negative things are re-inhaled in part and expelled in part, not only from the small valve provided for this purpose, but also escape around the filter device, causing the glasses to fog and disseminate potentially infectious particles.
In addition, because the user's exhaled air is not entirely exhausted, excess carbon dioxide is generated, and the mask user progressively inhales an increasing amount of carbon dioxide, the user inhales air from the outside that is increasingly spoiled and less filtered.
Another problem encountered in the state of the art is that associated with the disposal of hundreds of millions of disposable masks, which has led many authorities to high fines for those who leave the mask at each street corner or in various places, thus implying high disposal costs to society, despite the low economic value of the mask.
Finally, the use of the device has made authorities obliged to take social security measures that seriously impair the economic benefits of the carrier and the social, physical, cultural, work and leisure activities of millions of people.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 to 7 and 9 are schematic views illustrating the main features of the front, side and rear of the present utility model, and illustrating the main features of possible different models regarding filter types, whether square or cylindrical, without using small fans. More specifically, fig. 1 and 2 show front views, fig. 3 shows rear views, and a small fan is provided in an embodiment thereof.
The following description refers to fig. 1.
The personal protection filter device according to the present utility model is configured to realize a breathing chamber separated from the outside, enclosing the mouth, nose and a portion of his/her face.
The device includes a front support structure, a side-to-rear structure, a side structure, a front structure, and an upwardly collapsible protective covering.
More specifically, the components are configured as follows:
the front support structure comprises a horizontal upper bar 5, which rests with a suitable spacing on the forehead of the user,
the side-rear structure connected to said horizontal bar 5 comprises two ear stems 8, which extend from the temple to the rear of the user's auricle (auricle),
the lateral structures extending laterally along the face, on both sides of the face and in front of the ears comprise two vertical bars 9, each of which extends downwards with the ear pieces 8 located at the temples and widens so as to form a lateral wall 10 following the contour of the cheek from the cheekbones to the mandible,
the front structure 11 has the shape of a polyhedron provided on the upper side with an upper wall 14 that abuts the upper part of the nose and approaches the tip of the nose,
the covering element 6 is provided with folding means 7 for lifting on the forehead, as required.
Each of the two side walls 10 of the side structure forms with the front structure 11 a hollow structure adapted to house a first air filter 13, a second air filter 16 and a third air filter 15, respectively.
The device 2 is of a type that can be worn by a user and, when worn, the device 2 is configured to effect a breathing chamber 11 that is separated from the outside and accommodates the mouth and nose of the user.
This chamber is completely transparent, but the rest of the device also gives those in front of the user a clear view of the face, mouth and nose.
As shown, the mask comprises a front support structure 5, a side-rear structure 8, and a side structure 9 made of a more compact plastic material, constituted by a horizontal upper bar 5 which, thanks to the presence of a soft pad (not shown), rests on the forehead at a suitable spacing from the forehead of the user, so as to leave room for personal spectacles into which a protective covering 6 can be inserted, which can be folded upwards by means of a foldable device 7.
The device is worn in the same way as spectacles, but the device allows the eyes to move freely and, if desired, the eyes can be protected by folding the cover downwards.
A horizontal bar 5 extending along the forehead joins together two side rear ear pieces 8 which extend from the temple just behind the pinna like the ear pieces of a pair of spectacles and which are connected to each other by an adjustable buckle 18 behind the nape (fig. 1, 2, 3, 4).
Schematic figures 5 and 7 show the front part and the lateral front part of the device and illustrate (figure 7) how the vertical bar 9, which is connected to the bar 8 located on the temple, extends down the face at one side of the face and in front of the ear by following the contour of the upper part of the mandible 10 and when reaching the angle of the mandible it deviates almost 90 degrees towards the mouth and nose following the contour of the lower region of the mandible.
Returning to fig. 1, the bars 9 are of a size of a few centimetres, but they widen and reach a size of about 5 centimetres just after passing the angle of the mandible, and the thickness of the bars increases to about 3cm, so that two hollow structures 10 in the form of polyhedrons with two extruded sides are constituted, which house a first air filter 13 of the device, which may have a parallelogram shape or even a cylindrical shape, see fig. 2.
The two structures 10 placed at the sides of the face end at the corners of the mouth where they join the front side wall 11 of the mask, which has the shape of a rectangular polyhedron.
The distance formed between the two side walls and the skin around the nose and at both sides of the face is thus covered by an antiallergic soft polymer material (TPE) 12 which closes all the space around, forming separate compartments and helping to build up an air chamber around the respiratory organs, mouth and nose.
This front region, which is formed by a polyhedron having a rectangular shape, is completely transparent (made of polycarbonate or transparent polymeric material) so that the nose and mouth are clearly visible.
Further, referring to fig. 1, 5, 9, the upper wall 14 of the rectangular polyhedron abuts the front portion of the nose near its tip, while it is at a substantial distance from the mouth and nostrils, and participates in forming the already mentioned air chamber around the face while leaving more room for air to flow and helping to prevent the transparent front portion from fogging from exhaled warm air.
For this purpose, a third under-chin air filter 15 is present at the base of the rectangular polyhedron and constitutes the lower face thereof.
Due to the breathing action of the user, both inspiration and expiration, an air passage is ensured with the aid of two first air filters 13 and a third air filter 15 located at both sides of the face, which first air filters 13 have a parallelogram shape as shown in fig. 1, 9 and 10, or which first air filters 13 have a cylindrical shape as shown in fig. 2, 7, which third air filters 15 form the lower face of a transparent rectangular polyhedron, see fig. 1 and 7.
These filters are used to filter both the air inhaled and exhaled by the user and provide effective filtration and purification due to the known structural features of the material from which they are made (the polypropylene fabric of certified protection grade FFP 3).
The device is also supplemented with an eye protection function for covering the eyes by a protective cover 6 provided with folding means 7, see fig. 1, which can be used for folding it upwards and making it possible to use personal spectacles.
The cover is closed, also creating an isolated compartment for the eye, and fresh air pushed by the small fan also reaches this area through the supporting hollow structure to prevent the conjunctiva from drying out, while protecting the eye from possible invasion.
A second embodiment of the device according to the utility model comprises the presence of a small radial fan (5-12V-120 mAh) 17 in a cylindrical second air filter 16 on the right or left side of the face, as shown in fig. 4 to 7, the purpose of which is to promote the air ingress inside the mask by drawing air through the filter and pushing it towards the mouth and nose by gentle flow.
At the same time, the exhaled air is transported downwards by exiting the third under chin air filter 15 and upwards by the driving of the positive pressure generated in the mask under the thrust of the small fan 17 to the first air filter 13 on the opposite side of the face, as shown in figures 8, 10, 11.
All of these features provide proper oxygen intake, a continuously pleasant flow of fresh clean air, and a slight impregnation of healthy fragrances to make the mask more comfortable for those enjoyed, while preventing carbon dioxide concentrations or accumulation of bacteria, fungi, viruses, primarily for those applications requiring prolonged wearing of the mask in a closed environment.
At the behind-the-ear level, a seating portion is provided to house a long-life lithium battery at one end of the side rear ear piece 8.
A further third embodiment of the device comprises a different configuration of a cylindrical second air filter 16, the cylindrical second air filter 16 containing a small radial fan 17; the filter is located behind the nape, corresponds to the mastoid region, and is connected to the posterior portion of the ear piece, as shown in fig. 6.
The ear piece 8 is connected to the ear piece on the other side by means of an adjustable snap 18.
In the filter thus situated posteriorly in correspondence of the mastoid, behind the right or left auricle, a small radial fan 17 is placed which sucks in the external air and delivers it to the nostrils and mouth via the hollow structure of the device, the ear piece 8, the stem 9 and the side wall 10, by flowing in front of these organs and continuing up to the other side of the face where there is a first air filter 13, characterized by a cubic shape, through which first air filter 13 the exhaled air flows outwards, this function being also enhanced by the presence of a submaxillary region provided with a third air filter 15 at the bottom of the transparent structure.
Both the purification effect of the filter and the quality of the inhaled air can be further enhanced and improved by passing the air fed from the outside through areas of the device specially provided for this purpose, which are impregnated with essential oils extracted from medicinal plants, the effects of which are known, which have disinfecting, anti-infective, bactericidal, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, even balsamic or relaxing properties (melaleuca alternifolia, clove, laurel, propolis … …).
It is also possible to use essences of coffee, fruits, flowers and the like, the molecules of which are gradually released from capsules or tablets, not shown in the drawings, placed near the filter.
A fully digital version of the device is possible, mainly for bedridden persons in infectious disease wards and respiratory disease wards, but also for general inpatients.
For these applications, the device includes a connector for receiving oxygen directly from the hospital system.
The touch screen display worn on the wrist or waist belt of the patient provides parameters such as arterial pressure, heartbeat, body temperature, oxygen concentration in blood and the like, and also provides switch control, battery power and fan speed indication and default indication.
This type of device is adapted to be further enhanced with specific previous generation ceramic filters capable of ultrafiltration, which is currently in the advanced stage of research ("smart separation" SSL-LTD-UK).
In terms of production, the device can be replicated by 3D printing and is designed to occupy a market area that currently does not include any similar devices. The device can be implemented with the addition of headwear and complete housing, as it does not interfere with nor represent an obstacle to the operation of use.
The advantage of the present device is that it completely isolates the input port for infectious agents, i.e. conjunctiva, nose and mouth, from the surrounding environment, as with Covid-19 (new coronavirus), while zeroing or greatly weakening the need for keeping a defined distance between individuals, which makes it of great benefit for transportation companies, supermarkets, factories, schools, all public offices, stadiums and all environments of social, cultural and sports life.
Thus, it is expected that all citizens will be generally used, and more particularly in various work activities, hospital environments and all areas of disorders involving the respiratory system.
In summary, the utility model can be implemented in different models and modifications and variants of the filtering and sterilizing device, and can even involve the use of previous generation ceramic filters or ultraviolet rays.
All the details may be replaced with technically equivalent elements according to technical requirements and target purposes.
