Abstract
The present invention relates to an interior rear view mirror for a vehicle, an image capturing system, an occupant monitoring system and a motor vehicle, comprising-a support (4) comprising a base (8) for fixing to the vehicle and a fastening member (10) integral with the base, -a housing (18) comprising a complementary fastening member (30) mounted so as to be movable with respect to the fastening member, and-a mirror (20) carried by the housing, the mirror being provided with a transmission area capable of being passed through by visible and/or infrared radiation, -a photoreceptor array (6) capable of capturing images through said transmission area. The fastening member (10) comprises an inner housing (12), the inner housing (12) being provided with an opening (14), the photoreceptor array (6) being arranged within the inner housing, facing the opening (14).

The utility model relates to an inside rear-view mirror for vehicle. The utility model discloses still relate to image capture system, vehicle occupant monitored control system and relevant vehicle.
Background
Driver monitoring systems and occupant monitoring systems are currently widely implemented in vehicles, both for safety purposes and for the purpose of improving comfort. For example, these systems can detect when the driver is drowsy, or automatically adjust the seat position and the mirror position based on the size of the driver. The information captured by these systems may also be transmitted to a heating and air conditioning system that can automatically adjust its air distribution based on the number of occupants in the vehicle and their location within the vehicle.
For these systems to function, they require images representative of the front and rear seats of the vehicle. At the same time, however, european regulations 125 define road safety regulations that prohibit the installation of cameras below or at the level of the driver's line of sightbase:Sub>A-base:Sub>A so as not to obstruct the driver's view. The line of sight is shown in figure 1.
It is also known, for example from patent CN 205468799, to arrange a camera in the side of the housing of the interior rear view mirror. However, this type of rear view mirror cannot be used in a driver or occupant monitoring system, since the rear view mirror housing is mounted to be movable relative to the support to allow the rear view mirror to be adjusted to the height and position of the driver. Considering such mobility in image processing software requires complicated image processing, and therefore requires a large memory and high computing power. Therefore, the camera of the driver or passenger monitoring system cannot be mounted in the rearview mirror housing.
Purpose of the utility model
A first object of the present invention is to provide an interior rear view mirror that allows capturing images inside the passenger compartment that do not vary according to the position of the mirror or of the housing of the rear view mirror.
A second object of the invention is to provide an image capturing system outside the driver's field of vision, as defined by european regulation v 125, which is fixed relative to the vehicle.
A third object of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive driver or passenger monitoring system.
A fourth object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle having an image capturing system that allows visualization of passengers of front seats and passengers of rear seats.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
The object of the utility model is an inside rear-view mirror for motor vehicles, this inside rear-view mirror includes:
a support comprising a base for fixing to the vehicle and a fastening member integral with the base,
a housing comprising a complementary fastening member mounted to be movable relative to the fastening member, an

an array of photoreceptors capable of capturing images through the transmissive areas,

Advantageously, the photoreceptor array has a fixed position relative to the fastening member; thus, the images captured by the photoreceptor array always have the same reference point, and the image processing software requires less complex image processing. Therefore, less memory and less computing power are sufficient.
The features set forth in the following paragraphs may optionally be implemented. They can be implemented independently of one another or in combination with one another:
the complementary fastening member is mounted for rotation relative to the fastening member.
The fastening member is a ball joint and the complementary fastening member is mounted to pivot about the ball joint.
The opening of the fastening member is positioned to face the transmissive region of the mirror.
The complementary fastening member comprises a crown having a peripheral edge surrounding the spherical joint, and the housing comprises a through hole open on the one hand to the transmissive region of the mirror and on the other hand to the center of the crown.
Comprising a camera arranged within an inner housing, the array of photoreceptors being an array of photoreceptors of the camera.
Comprising a lens fixed in front of an array of photoreceptors
The mirror has a vertical dimension, and the transmissive region is disposed at a central portion or a lower portion of the mirror according to the vertical dimension thereof.

Finally, the invention relates to a motor vehicle extending in a longitudinal direction and in a transverse direction, characterized in that it comprises an interior rear view mirror according to the above, which is fixed in the center of the vehicle in its transverse direction.

Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 2, an interior rear view mirror 2 according to the present invention includes a support member 4 for fixing in a passenger compartment of a vehicle and a photoreceptor array 6 carried by the support member 4.
The support 4 comprises a base 8 for fixing to the windscreen or ceiling of the passenger compartment, and a fastening member 10 integral with the base.
The fastening member 10 comprises an inner shell 12 provided with an opening 14. The photoreceptor array 6 is disposed within the inner housing 12 facing the opening 14. The photosensor array 6 is capable of capturing an image representative of a vehicle occupant.
Preferably, the interior rearview mirror 2 includes a lens 16 disposed in the inner housing 12 and fixed in front of the photoreceptor array 6.
The interior rear view mirror 2 includes a housing 18 attached to be movable relative to the support 4, and a mirror 20 carried by the housing.
The housing 18 includes a rectangular plate 22, typically made of PVC. The plate 22 is provided with a slot 24 in its front face and the mirror is secured in the slot 24 and has a peripheral edge around the mirror.
Referring to fig. 4, the mirror 20 includes a transmissive region 26 that can be traversed by visible and/or infrared radiation. The opening 14 of the fastening member is positioned facing the transmissive region 26 of the mirror. Radiation passing through transmissive region 26 is captured by photoreceptor array 6 to produce an image.
Advantageously, the transmissive region 26 is located in the centre of the mirror according to its longitudinal dimension L. Advantageously, the transmissive region 26 is located in the central part of the mirror according to its vertical dimension V, as shown in fig. 4. Alternatively, the transmissive region 26 is arranged in the lower part of the mirror according to its vertical dimension V.
Plate 22 also includes a central through hole 28. The opening 28 is in line with and leads to the transmissive region of the mirror.
The plate 22 includes a protruding complementary fastening member 30 on its back face. The complementary fastening member 30 is movably mounted on the fastening member 10 of the support.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 2 and 3, the complementary fastening member 30 is mounted to be rotatable relative to the fastening member 10. In these figures, the fastening member 10 consists of a ball joint 32, about which ball joint 32 a complementary fastening member is pivotably mounted. More specifically, the complementary fastening member 30 has the shape of a crown 34 fixed to the plate around the opening 28. The peripheral edge 36 of the crown surrounds the ball joint.
Alternatively, the photoreceptor array 6 is replaced by a camera. The camera is disposed within the inner housing 12. According to this alternative, the interior rear view mirror 2 constitutes an image capturing system.
Fig. 3 shows a support 4 for a wing mirror according to a second embodiment of the invention. This support 4 is similar to the support according to the first embodiment, except that its shape is slightly different from the shape of the support of the wing mirror according to fig. 2.
The utility model discloses still relate to a driver or passenger monitored control system for the vehicle. The monitoring system comprises an interior rear view mirror 2 as described above and a controller connected to the photoreceptor array 6. The controller includes a memory storing instructions for implementing a method of monitoring at least one occupant of a vehicle based on images captured by the photosensor array. The controller may be arranged in a ceiling light of a vehicle, for example.
Claims (12)
1. An interior rear view mirror (2) for a motor vehicle and comprising:
-a support (4) comprising a base (8) for fixing to a vehicle and a fastening member (10) integral with said base,
-a housing (18) comprising a complementary fastening member (30) mounted to be movable relative to the fastening member, and
-a mirror (20) carried by the housing, the mirror being provided with a transmissive region that can be traversed by visible and/or infrared radiation,
-a photoreceptor array (6) capable of capturing images through the transmissive region,
characterized in that the fastening member (10) comprises an inner housing (12) provided with an opening (14) and the photoreceptor array (6) is arranged within the inner housing (12) facing the opening (14), and wherein the mirror (20) has a longitudinal dimension (L) and the transmissive region (26) is arranged in the center of the mirror according to its longitudinal dimension.
2. The interior rearview mirror (2) of claim 1, wherein the complementary fastening member (30) is mounted for rotation relative to the fastening member (10).
3. Internal rear view mirror (2) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the fastening member is a ball joint (32) and wherein the complementary fastening member (30) is mounted to pivot around the ball joint.
4. An interior rear view mirror (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the opening (14) of the fastening member is positioned facing the transmission zone (26) of the mirror.

Internal rear view mirror (2) according to claim 3, characterized in that the complementary fastening member (30) comprises a crown (34), the crown (34) having a peripheral edge (36) surrounding the spherical joint, and in that the housing comprises a through hole (28), the through hole (28) opening on the one hand into the transmissive region (26) of the mirror and on the other hand into the center of the crown (34).
6. The interior rearview mirror (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that it comprises a camera arranged within the inner housing (12), the photoreceptor array (6) being a photoreceptor array of the camera.
7. The interior rearview mirror (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that it includes a lens (16) fixed in front of the photosensor array.
8. An interior rear view mirror (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the mirror (20) has a vertical dimension (V), the transmission zone (26) being arranged in a central part or lower part of the mirror according to its vertical dimension.
9. An image capturing system, characterized in that the system is for a motor vehicle and comprises an interior rear view mirror (2) according to any of claims 6 to 8.
10. Occupant monitoring system, characterized in that it is for a motor vehicle and comprises an interior rear view mirror (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 8, and a controller connected to the photosensor array, said controller comprising a memory storing instructions for implementing a method of monitoring at least one occupant of a vehicle based on images captured by the photosensor array.
11. A motor vehicle, characterized in that it extends in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction and comprises an interior rear view mirror (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 8, which is fixed in the center of the vehicle in its transverse direction.
12. A motor vehicle according to claim 11, characterised in that the opening (14) of the inner shell faces towards the rear of the vehicle.
