Description

Bottle structure, handle set and accessory
The priority and/or benefit of U.S. provisional patent application No. 63/033,173, filed on 1/6/2020, is claimed in this application, the contents of which are incorporated herein in its entirety.
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a handlebar assembly for a bicycle, and more particularly, to a handlebar assembly with an accessory.
Background
When riding a bicycle in routine outdoor activities, a mounting mechanism for a portable bicycle accessory structure, such as a water bottle, is often sought. As disclosed in U.S. patent application publication No. 2016/0046420, a conventional water bottle for a bicycle is hung from and supported by an upper side of a handlebar of the bicycle by a bracket strap. However, in this arrangement, the size of the water bottle that can be stably supported by the handlebar is limited and the position of the water bottle relative to the handlebar can be aerodynamically disadvantageous to the bicycle.
Another conventional water bottle is disposed below the handlebar and mounted on a bracket fixed to a faucet of the bicycle. However, the combination of the existing water bottle and the stand is only suitable for a particular faucet. For bicycles with different sized faucets, correspondingly different sized brackets are required to mount the water bottles on the bicycle.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a fitting which overcomes at least one of the disadvantages of the prior art.
Thus, the fitting, here a bottle structure, is adapted for use with a bicycle handlebar and includes a bottle body having an integrally formed bottle coupling structure. The bottle coupling structure is directly connected to and detachable from the bicycle handlebar.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a handle set that alleviates at least one of the disadvantages of the prior art.
Thus, the handlebar assembly is suitable for a bicycle, including a handlebar and an accessory or bottle structure. The handle has a handle coupling structure. The bottle structure includes a bottle body having an integrally formed bottle coupling structure. The bottle coupling structure is directly connected to the handle coupling structure of the handle and detachable.
Drawings
Other features and effects of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a side elevational view of a bicycle equipped with the handlebar assembly of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of a portion of the handle set;
FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a handle and bottle structure of the handle set assembled;
FIG. 4 is a perspective view illustrating the handle and bottle structure separated;
FIG. 5 is a fragmentary perspective view illustrating a handle coupling structure of the handle;
FIG. 6 is a partial perspective view illustrating a bottle coupling structure of the bottle structure; and
fig. 7 is a partial cross-sectional view of the bottle structure.
Detailed Description
Before the present invention is described in detail, it should be noted that where considered appropriate, reference numerals or terminal portions of reference numerals have been repeated among the figures to indicate corresponding or analogous elements, which may have similar properties.
A handle set may include a coupling structure for one or more accessories. The accessory may comprise a utility, such as an enclosure for carrying water during a bicycle ride. The utility appliance comprises corresponding features to mount to the coupling structure. The utility tool is removable from the coupling structure.
Referring to fig. 1 and 2, the handlebar assembly of the present invention is mounted to a handlebar 11 of a bicycle 1 and includes a handlebar 2 and an accessory bottle structure 3. The handle 2 has a handle coupling structure 20 and a faucet clip portion 23. The fitment bottle structure 3 includes a bottle body 31 that serves as a container for beverages and has a male fitment coupling structure (in this case, a bottle coupling structure 310). The bottle coupling structure 310 may be directly connected to the handle coupling structure 20 of the handle 2 such that the accessory bottle structure 3 is mounted to the handle 2 (see fig. 3) and may be disengaged from the handle coupling structure 20 such that the accessory bottle structure 3 is detached from the handle 2 (see fig. 4). The faucet clip 23 is mounted to the faucet 11 of the bicycle 1.
Referring further to fig. 5 and 6, the handlebar coupling structure 20 includes two fitting grooves 21 spaced apart from each other in one lateral direction of the bicycle 1. The bottle coupling structure 310 includes two protrusions 311 (only one of which is visible) respectively located at two opposite sides of the bottle body 31, respectively and directly engaged with the engagement groove 21 of the handle 2 and disengaged from the engagement groove 21. In one embodiment, each of the fitting grooves 21 extends substantially in a front-rear direction of the bicycle 1.
In one embodiment, the handle coupling structure 20 further includes two handle connection holes 22 which are spatially communicated with the fitting grooves 21, respectively (see fig. 5), and extend in a direction different from the direction of the fitting grooves 21. Each boss 311 of the bottle body 31 is formed with an accessory attachment aperture, in this case a bottle attachment aperture 312 (only one visible), which is aligned with a respective one of the handle attachment apertures 22 and allows a fastener 4 (see fig. 2) to be inserted into the respective one of the handle attachment apertures 22 to extend therethrough such that the accessory bottle structure 3 is securely mounted to the handle 2. In one embodiment, at least one of the bottle attachment holes 312 is configured as a threaded hole. In one embodiment, at least one of the bottle connection holes 312 is configured as a through hole. The fastener 4 may be configured as a bolt, a screw or the like.
Referring back to fig. 2, in one embodiment, the accessory bottle structure 3 further includes a straw 32 connected to the bottle body 31, and a straw holder 33 mounted on the straw 32. In one embodiment, the accessory bottle structure 3 further includes two magnets 34 (see fig. 7) respectively mounted to the bottle body 31 and the straw fixture 33 and magnetically coupled to each other to position the straw 32 with respect to the bottle body 31. In one embodiment, the accessory bottle structure 3 further includes two cover members 35 (see fig. 7) respectively mounted to the bottle body 31 and the straw holder 33 and respectively covering the magnets 34.
Referring back to fig. 2, in one embodiment, a majority of the bottle body 31 is located below the handle 2, and the accessory bottle structure 3 further includes a cover 39 that is connected to the bottle body 31 to streamline the accessory bottle structure 3. In one embodiment, the shroud 39 is attached to the rear side of the bottle 31 and extends around the faucet 11 (see FIG. 1) of the bicycle 1 to streamline the combination of the handlebar set and the faucet 11.
Briefly, since the accessory bottle structure 3 is directly connected to the handle 2 by its integrally formed bottle coupling structure 310, the handle set of the present invention is suitable for use with faucets of different sizes. In addition, since a large portion of the bottle body 31 is located below the handle 2, the volume of the bottle body 31 is not limited by additional elements (see fig. 1), such as an armrest or an auxiliary grip mounted to the handle 2.
In the description above, for the purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the embodiments. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art, that one or more other embodiments may be practiced without some of these specific details. It should also be appreciated that reference throughout this specification to "one embodiment," "an embodiment," or "embodiments" means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic may be included in the practice of the disclosure. It is also to be understood that throughout this specification, various features are sometimes grouped together in a single embodiment, figure, or description thereof for the purpose of streamlining the disclosure and aiding in the understanding of various inventive aspects, and that where appropriate for the practice of the disclosure, one or more features or specific details of one embodiment may be practiced in conjunction with one or more other features or specific details of another embodiment.
While the disclosure has been described in connection with what is presently considered to be example embodiments, it is to be understood that the disclosure is not limited to the disclosed embodiments, but is intended to cover various arrangements within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such variations and equivalent arrangements.
