Vehicle lamp and vehicle lamp holding member
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a vehicle lamp and a vehicle lamp holding member, and more particularly to a vehicle lamp and a vehicle lamp holding member that irradiate light to the outside via light.
Background
In recent years, Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) have been generally used as Light sources for vehicle lamps. A vehicle lamp using such a light emitting diode as a light source is small in size and effectively utilizes power saving characteristics, and is used for various purposes such as a headlamp, a tail lamp, and an interior lamp. Further, light emitting diodes have been used for lamps for improving appearance and decorative properties due to their higher output and lower price.
As such a vehicle lamp with improved appearance, a structure has been proposed in which light emitted from a light emitting diode as a light source is incident on an end face of a flat or rod-shaped light guide, and the light propagating through the inside of the light guide is extracted from a side face and a light extraction face (see, for example, patent documents 1 to 3). In a vehicle lamp using these light guides, a linear or curved light emitting region can be formed according to the shape of the light guide.

(first embodiment)
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. The same or equivalent constituent elements, components, and processes shown in the respective drawings are denoted by the same reference numerals, and their description will not be repeated as appropriate. Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram showing an outline of a vehicle lamp 1 in the present embodiment. As shown in fig. 1, the vehicle lamp 1 includes a vehicle lamp holding member 10, a lamp unit 20, a light guide portion 30, and an end cap 40, and is attached to a body portion 100 of a vehicle.
The vehicle lamp holding member 10 is a member that positions and holds the lamp unit 20 and the light guide portion 30 and mounts the main body portion 100. The lamp unit 20 is supplied with power and signals by a harness (not shown) connected from the outside and emits light of a predetermined wavelength. The light guide section 30 is a member that guides light incident from the light incident end surface inside and irradiates light to the outside from the side surface, and has one end inserted into the vehicle lamp holding member 10 and the other end attached with the end cap 40.
The main body 100 is an object to which the vehicle lamp 1 is attached, and examples thereof include a vehicle body, a bumper, an engine hood, a door, and a vehicle ceiling. The vehicle lamp holding member 10 and the lamp unit 20 are attached to the inside of the main body 100, and the light guide portion 30 is attached to the outside. In addition, an opening is formed in the main body 100, and both ends of the light guide 30 are inserted into the main body 100 through the opening. Here, although the example in which the opening is provided in the main body 100 is shown, the opening is not necessarily required as long as the light guide portion 30 can be inserted into the main body 100, and a gap or a notch of the main body 100 may be used. The vehicle on which the main body 100 is provided is not limited, and examples thereof include a working vehicle such as an automobile, a motorcycle, a construction machine, and a forklift.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view schematically showing the outline of the vehicle lamp holding member 10. As shown in fig. 2, the vehicle lamp holding member 10 includes a housing portion 11, a cover portion 12, and a cylindrical portion 13. Further, a light guide insertion hole 14 is formed in the cylindrical portion 13, and an optical window portion 15 is provided at the distal end of the cylindrical portion 13. Further, the housing 11 has a lamp insertion opening 16, and a part of the housing 11 extends to form a fixing portion 17. A mounting member 18 is attached to one surface of the fixing portion 17.
The housing portion 11 is a main body portion that holds each portion of the vehicle lamp holding member 10, and has a substantially cylindrical shape having a space therein. A cover 12 is provided on one side of the case 11 so as to cover the light extraction opening, and a lamp insertion opening 16 is provided on the other side. A fixing portion 17 is formed by extending a part of the case portion 11. The material constituting the case portion 11 is not particularly limited, but a resin material, for example, ABS resin or polycarbonate resin, is preferably used in view of weight reduction. Further, a hole for adjusting the internal pressure may be formed in the case 11, and a ventilation filter for preventing water from entering may be provided as necessary.
The cover 12 is a flat plate-like portion provided to cover the light extraction opening of the housing 11, and partitions the internal space of the housing 11 from the outside. The lid 12 and the housing 11 are fixed in a liquid-tight manner, and the liquid does not enter the housing 11 from the outside. Here, the structure that makes liquid-tight and liquid-tight refers to waterproof performance more than the waterproof type of IPX 3. Examples of a method for fixing the case portion 11 and the lid portion 12 in a liquid-tight manner include multicolor molding, ultrasonic welding, and fixing using an adhesive material.
A cylindrical portion 13 extending toward the inside of the housing portion 11 is formed at substantially the center of the cover portion 12, and a light guide insertion hole 14 is formed from the cover portion 12 to the cylindrical portion 13. The cylindrical portion 13 is a substantially cylindrical portion extending in the inner direction of the case portion 11, and is integrally formed with the lid portion 12. The light guide insertion hole 14 is a hole formed inside the cylindrical portion 13, and is a portion into which the light guide portion 30 is inserted to hold the light guide portion 30. As will be described later, the inner diameters of the cylindrical portion 13 and the light guide insertion hole 14 are preferably formed to be smaller than the diameter of the light guide portion 30 by 0.1 to 0.2mm, and the light guide portion 30 can be press-fitted.
The optical window 15 is a portion through which light passes provided at the distal end of the cylindrical portion 13, and is a portion facing the light incident end surface of the light guide portion 30. The optical window 15 may have a substantially flat plate shape, or may function as an optical lens having a convex shape or a concave shape formed on the light guide insertion hole 14 side in the housing 11.
In the present embodiment, the lid 12, the cylindrical portion 13, and the optical window portion 15 constitute a light guide holding portion in the present invention. In fig. 1 and 2, the lid portion 12, the cylindrical portion 13, and the optical window portion 15 are integrally formed, but they may be separately formed and fixed in a liquid-tight manner. In order to prevent light from leaking from the inside of the vehicle lamp holding member 10, the cover 12 and the cylindrical portion 13 are preferably configured to block light. For example, the lid portion 12 and the cylindrical portion 13 may be formed of black resin, or the light-shielding film may be formed by vapor deposition or coating after molding the same transparent resin as the optical window portion 15.
The lamp insertion opening 16 is an opening formed in the bottom surface of the housing portion 11, and is a portion into which the light source holding portion 23 of the lamp unit 20 is inserted, engaged, and held as described later. The fixing portion 17 is a portion formed by extending a part of the case portion 11, and is a portion that contacts and fixes the main body portion 100. The mounting member 18 is a member provided in the fixing portion 17 to fix the vehicle lamp holding member 10 to the body portion 100, and examples thereof include an adhesive and a double-sided tape. The fixing portion 17 and the mounting member 18 may have any structure, and for example, a screw hole, a screw, or the like may be used.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view schematically showing the outline of the lamp unit 20. As shown in fig. 3, the lamp unit 20 includes a flange 21, a heat sink 22, a light source holding portion 23, and an engaging portion 24. The light source unit mounted in the lamp unit 20 may use a diode that emits light of a predetermined color, and examples thereof include a white LED, a red LED, a blue LED, and a green LED.
The flange 21 is a substantially disk-shaped portion, and has a light source holding portion 23 on a main surface and a heat sink 22 and a connector portion not shown on a rear surface. The main surface on which the light source holding portion 23 is formed is a surface that comes into contact with the housing portion 11 when the light source holding portion is mounted on the vehicle lamp holding member 10, and the flange portion 21 restricts the insertion of the light source holding portion 23 into the vehicle lamp holding member 10. Here, the flange portion 21 is shown as being substantially disk-shaped, but may be other shapes as long as it is flat plate-shaped, and may be provided with notches or projections for positioning or the like.
The fins 22 are a plurality of columnar portions erected on the back surface of the flange portion 21. Gaps are provided between adjacent fins 22, and the surface area per unit volume of the fins 22 is increased to improve heat dissipation. The shape of the fins 22 is a long plate shape, but is not limited to this shape, and various shapes such as a bar shape and a corrugated plate shape may be used.
The light source holding portion 23 is a substantially cylindrical projecting portion provided on a main surface which is one surface of the flange portion 21, and a light source unit (not shown) is mounted on an upper end surface thereof. Further, a plurality of locking portions 24 that engage with the vehicle lamp holding member 10 when the light source holding portion 23 is attached to the vehicle lamp holding member 10 are provided on the outer periphery thereof. Further, a terminal electrically connected to the light source portion is provided inside the connector portion from the light source holding portion 23.
The connector portion (not shown) is a portion provided on the rear surface of the flange portion 21 and to which a not-shown wire harness is connected from the outside. When the connector portion is inserted into the harness-side connector, the terminal is electrically connected to the harness, and power and signals are supplied from the outside to the lamp unit 20.
The locking portion 24 is a projection portion intermittently formed at the outer peripheral upper end of the light source holding portion 23. On the other hand, the vehicle lamp holding member 10 to which the lamp unit 20 is attached is formed with a lamp insertion opening 16 having a shape corresponding to the outer shape of the light source holding portion 23, and when the lamp unit 20 is inserted into the lamp insertion opening 16 and rotated, the vehicle lamp holding member 10 is sandwiched between the locking portion 24 and the main surface of the flange portion 21, and the lamp unit 20 is fixed. It is preferable to interpose a sealing member such as an O-ring between the flange portion 21 and the vehicle lamp holding member 10 so as to prevent moisture from entering the housing portion 11.
Therefore, the light source holding portion 23 is arranged to coincide with the center of the flange portion 21, and the light source holding portion 23 and the flange portion 21 are arranged concentrically. The diameter of the light source holding portion 23 may be as large as the light source portion can be mounted on the upper end surface. In the light source holding portion 23, the height from the main surface of the flange portion 21 to the locking portion 24 is designed to be the depth of insertion into the vehicle lamp holding member 10.
The housing corresponding to the flange 21, the heat sink 22, and the light source holding portion 23 in the lamp unit 20 is preferably made of aluminum die-cast or heat-conductive resin having good heat conductivity.
In the lamp unit 20, when the harness is connected to the connector portion and power is supplied from the outside to the light source portion, power is supplied from the terminals to the electronic components via the wiring pattern, and the driving circuit operates. Further, an output from the driving circuit is supplied to the light emitting element, and the light emitting element emits light. At this time, the heat generated by the light source unit is dissipated from the light source holding unit 23 through the flange 21 and the heat sink 22.
Fig. 4 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the light guide section 30. As shown in fig. 4, the light guide unit 30 includes a light guide unit 31, a covering unit 32, and a bonding unit 33, and an end cap 40 is attached to the front end.
Light guide unit 31 is an elongated member made of a translucent material, and an end surface thereof is disposed to face lamp unit 20 as a light incident end surface. The material constituting the light guide unit 31 is not limited, but for example, a transparent and soft acrylic resin or a fluororesin covering the surface of an elastic body can be used.
The covering portion 32 is made of a material that transmits light, and has a tubular shape to cover and protect the outer periphery of the light guide portion 31. When the material constituting light guide unit 31 is difficult to adhere to it, it is preferable to use a material for facilitating adhesion to main body unit 100, and for example, a transparent resin such as vinyl chloride can be used. As the resin constituting the covering portion 32, a transparent colored resin may be used.
The adhesive part 33 is a member for adhering the covering part 32 to the main body part 100, and a double-sided tape or an adhesive can be used. The structure for attaching the light guide section 30 to the main body section 100 is not limited, and a fixing structure may be provided on the main body section 100 side or a mechanical fixing member may be used, or the vehicle lamp 1 may be configured without the adhesive section 33. The end caps 40 are members attached to and cover the end surfaces of the light guide unit 31 and the covering portion 32, and prevent moisture from entering between the light guide unit 31 and the covering portion 32.
The end cap 40 is preferably made of a light-shielding material to prevent light from leaking from the end face of the light guide section 30. Further, a plating film may be formed on the inner side of the end cap 40 with a light reflecting material, and light reaching the end surface of the light guide section 30 may be reflected and incident again on the light guide section 30.
The light guide section 30 is formed of a flexible material to form the light guide section 31 and the covering section 32, and can be bent from a straight line as shown in fig. 4 to a curved line as shown in fig. 1 and attached to the main body section 100. The light guide section 30 has flexibility, and the light guide section 30 can be attached by bending according to the vehicle type and the attachment position, and therefore the versatility of the vehicle lamp 1 can be improved. Here, although the light guide section 30 has flexibility, a light guide section formed in advance in a shape corresponding to a vehicle type or an installation position may be used.
In the light guide section 30, the diameter of the light guide section 31 and the covering section 32 is preferably about 0.1 to 0.2mm larger than the inner diameter of the cylindrical section 13 and the light guide insertion hole 14. The light guide portion 30 is larger than the light guide insertion hole 14, and the covering portion 32 has flexibility and can be press-fitted into the light guide holding portion.
Fig. 5 is a diagram schematically showing an assembling method of the vehicle lamp 1, and fig. 5(a) shows before assembly and fig. 5(b) shows after assembly. As shown in fig. 5(a) and (b), the light source holding portion 23 is inserted into the lamp insertion opening 16, and the lamp unit 20 is fixed to the vehicle lamp holding member 10 by the locking portion 24. Further, one end side of the light guide unit 30 is pressed into the cylindrical portion 13 so that the light incident end surface faces the optical window portion 15. An end cap 40 is attached to an end surface of the light guide unit 30 on the side opposite to the light incident end surface.
In the vehicle lamp 1 of the present embodiment, when power is supplied to the lamp unit 20 to cause the light source portion to emit light, light enters the optical window portion 15 facing the lamp unit 20 in the housing portion 11. The light transmitted through the optical window 15 enters the light entrance end surface of the light guide unit 30 into which the light guide holding unit is press-fitted, and the light transmitted inside the light guide unit 31 is irradiated to the outside via the side surface and the covering unit 32.
In the present embodiment, since the lid portion 12 of the vehicle lamp holding member 10 is liquid-tightly fixed to the housing portion 11, even if the vehicle lamp 1 is exposed to the external environment inside the body portion 100, it is possible to prevent the liquid from entering the housing portion 11 and damaging the lamp unit 20. In the vehicle lamp 1 of the present embodiment, the light guide portion 30 is formed of a flexible material, so that the light guide portion 30 can be bent and attached according to the vehicle type and the attachment position, and versatility can be improved.
Further, since the light guide 30 is press-fitted into the light guide holder, the vehicle lamp 1 can be easily assembled and disassembled, and the light guide 30 can be easily replaced even when the light guide 30 is damaged or stained. Further, by pressing the light guide section 30 into the cylindrical section 13, it is possible to prevent liquid from entering the inside of the light guide section 30.
(second embodiment)

Fig. 6 is a schematic diagram showing an outline of the vehicle lamp 1 in the present embodiment. In the present embodiment, the vehicle lamp holding member 10 and the lamp unit 20 are attached to both ends of the light guide portion 30. This allows light to enter light guide unit 31 from both ends of light guide unit 30, and the light can reach light guide unit 30 well over the entire length thereof, thereby achieving uniform light intensity along the longitudinal direction.
(third embodiment)
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 7. Description of the overlapping contents with the first embodiment will be omitted.
