Description

Fire control panel
Technical Field
The utility model relates to a fire hazard. More particularly, the present invention relates to a fire panel having sound, heat and fire insulation properties.
Background
Generally, installing fire panels at a barrier, such as a wall of a building, may be used to prevent the spread of fire throughout the building. The fire panel includes a fire resistant core sandwiched between decorative plies, and the fire panel may be hinged to an opening of the wall to allow user access. The effectiveness of the fire panel depends on several factors, such as the construction of the fire panel in terms of the arrangement of the fire resistant core and decorative laminate, as well as the size of the fire panel for the thickness of the fire resistant core and laminate, and the material of the fire resistant core.
To increase the effectiveness of the fire panel, the fire resistant core may be densely filled with a fire retardant material, such as mineral wool, gypsum, asbestos cement, perlite, calcium silicate, or any combination thereof. Thus, fire panels may be heavier and may be inconvenient for users to open and close. Furthermore, existing fire panels are fragile because the fire panels are made of powder or chip fire retardant materials. The strength of fire fighting panels depends on the effectiveness of the adhesive used to form the fire fighting panel. Thus, any sudden external force induced on the fire panel may rupture the fire panel, thereby reducing its efficiency in preventing flames from passing through the fire panel. In addition, existing fire panels do not provide effective sound insulation, which makes fire panels unsuitable for use in noisy environments such as manufacturing plants.
Accordingly, it is desirable to provide a fire fighting panel that includes a metal frame sandwiched between a pair of fire retardant panels and at least partially wrapped within a layer of metal laminate. The utility model provides a overcome device of above-mentioned shortcoming.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
It is an object of the present invention to provide a fire fighting panel including a metal frame sandwiched between a pair of fire protection plates, each fire protection plate providing an outer surface for connecting the metal plates, wherein the metal frame is defined by four elongated members to form a generally rectangular body having at least intermediate members to provide structural integrity to the fire fighting panel.
Those skilled in the art will readily appreciate that the present invention is well adapted to carry out the objects and obtain the ends and advantages mentioned, as well as those inherent therein. The embodiments described herein are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
Drawings
For the purpose of promoting an understanding of the invention, there is illustrated in the accompanying drawings preferred embodiments, from the viewpoint of which, when considered in connection with the following description, the invention, both as to its construction and operation, together with many of its advantages, will be readily understood and appreciated.
Fig. 1 is an exploded schematic view of a fire panel according to the present invention.
Figure 2 is an isometric view of a fire panel according to the present invention.
Fig. 3 is a top view of a fire panel according to the present invention.
Detailed Description
The invention will now be described in more detail, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 shows an exploded view of a fire panel according to the present invention. The fire panel comprises a metal frame 1 sandwiched between a pair of fire retardant panels 2, each fire retardant panel 2 providing an outer surface for attachment of a metal plate 3.
In this particular embodiment, the metal frame 1 is defined by four elongated members to form a generally rectangular body. In particular, the four elongated members include a pair of longitudinal members and a pair of transverse members, the pair of longitudinal members being disposed perpendicular to the pair of transverse members. In this particular embodiment, four elongated members are connected together to form a generally rectangular body such that one end of a longitudinal member is connected to one end of a transverse member. The ends may be permanently joined together, such as by welding or adhesive means, or temporarily joined together, such as by fastening means.
In the preferred embodiment, the metal frame 1 has at least one intermediate member 5 to provide structural integrity to the fire panel. In particular, the intermediate member 5 is disposed substantially parallel between two of the four elongate members, the intermediate member 5 may be disposed substantially parallel between a pair of longitudinal members, or disposed substantially parallel between a pair of transverse members. In one embodiment, if the intermediate member 5 is disposed substantially parallel between a pair of cross members, the intermediate member 5 connects one longitudinal member to the other. In another embodiment, if the intermediate member 5 is disposed substantially parallel between a pair of longitudinal members, the intermediate member 5 connects one cross member to the other. A metal frame 1 having this structure provides structural integrity to the fire panel. In another embodiment, the intermediate member 5 may be disposed substantially diagonally within the metal frame 1.
In this particular embodiment, the four elongate members and the intermediate member 5 are in the form of a hollow shaft having a substantially uniform and substantially square or rectangular cross-section.
Preferably, the metal frame 1 defines a housing 4 therein, the housing 4 being divided into two parts by an intermediate member 5. More housings 4 may be formed by adding more intermediate members 5 within the metal frame 1.
Preferably, the housing 4 is provided with a sound insulating material. For example, the sound insulation material includes drywall, damped drywall, acoustical fiber board, vinyl, or any combination thereof.
Referring to fig. 2 and 3, the enclosure 4 defined by the metal frame 1 is sealed by sandwiching the metal frame 1 within a pair of fire retardant panels 2. The fire protection plate 2 has substantially similar length and width dimensions as the metal frame 1. Thus, the metal frame 1 is flush with the fire shield 2 and there is no uneven surface to interfere with mounting the fire panel to the wall.
The pair of fire protection plates 2 may be secured to the metal frame 1 by adhesive means, mechanical fasteners or any suitable means. Each fire protection plate 2 is provided with an outer surface for attaching a metal plate 3. The metal plate 3 may be attached to the outer surface by adhesive means. The metal plates 3 may also be fastened to the sandwich plate with mechanical fasteners such as bolts, nuts, screws and other suitable fastening means. The metal plate 3 is, for example, in the form of a steel plate or an aluminum plate, which is not combustible at high temperatures. Therefore, the metal plate 3 can prevent the fire-proof plate 2 from being damaged by the flame from breaking through the metal plate 3. Furthermore, the metal sheet 3 provides a physical barrier between the fire retardant panel 2 and its environment. The metal sheet 3 also contributes substantially to the structural integrity of the fire retardant panel when the metal frame 1, fire retardant panel 2 and metal sheet 3 are assembled.
The present invention discloses the contents as contained in the appended claims and the foregoing description. Although the invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is understood that the presently disclosed preferred forms have been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the details of construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the scope of the invention.
