The right and left conveyor chains 11 and 11 of the stretch film wrapping machine 1, which grasp the base film 8 on both sides, are respectively guided in chain guide portions 13. The chain guides 13 are each protected to the outside by a side wall 14 of the stretch film wrapping machine 1 and are optionally fastened to the side wall 14. The side dams 14 may be plate members.

Furthermore, in the region of the upper film receptacle 9, a transverse connection 32 is provided between the right-hand lateral frame 30 and the left-hand lateral frame 30 of the stretch film wrapping machine 1.
