细纱机吸棉风机设置在细纱机的车尾处，用于吸取纺纱中的断纱等，改善工作环境。其主要包括壳体，设在壳体内的叶轮，以及与叶轮连接的电机，壳体上设有吸气口和出风口。传统的细纱机吸棉风机壳体进风口处设置直筒形导流环，导流环与壳体焊接固定。这种吸棉风机壳体的缺点是：由于导流环为直筒形，进风口处的空气阻力较大，影响风机的吸风效果，且导流环与壳体焊接固定，制作较麻烦，生产效率低，成本高。
