Abstract

本发明涉及一种包括至少两个用于存储信息的信息层的多层记录载体。本发明尤其涉及一种双层可记录DVD光盘。本发明还涉及一种记录这种记录载体的方法。
在双层可记录DVD记录载体上记录信息之后,需要采取特定操作以使得记录载体和现有的播放设备相兼容。当必须使得可记录DVD记录载体和DVD-ROM相兼容以便可记录DVD记录载体可以在任何DVD-ROM播放器中播放的时候,需要以空数据填满任何未写的区域,因为大多数的DVD播放器不能处理与保留信息的信息层相对的信息层没有写入任何信息的记录载体。
在双层OTP类型(逆光道路径)的DVD记录载体(可记录、可重写,以及只读光盘)上用于存储用户信息的总的有效空间取决于信息层上所谓的中间区的位置。这个中间区位于从第一信息层到第二信息层的过渡。当预先知道待写入的信息量的时候,中间区的位置可以在写入之前确定。然后优选的选择中间区的位置使得在两个信息层之上写入基本上相同的信息量。
然而,当预先未知大小的信息必须写入双层可记录DVD记录载体上的时候,中间区的位置优选的应该位于最大允许位置,其产生最大限度存储空间。将中间区置于最大允许位置的负面效应是用空数据填充耗费的时间量。这是因为没有写入用户信息的所有有效存储空间必须用空数据填满。
待决欧洲专利申请EP03103210.5(PHNL031042)以及EP03103217.0(PHNL031046)描述了在多层记录载体上安排信息的方法,以便在当前不知道待存储的信息量的情况下使得令记录载体与现有的播放设备、尤其是DVD-ROM播放器相兼容所需要的时间量减少到最小值。在这些方法中,记录期间信息是根据特殊填充模式分配在多层记录载体的信息层中。通过使用这种特殊的填充方式,结束/完成一个会话或光盘所需要的时间量(在这个期间写入空数据)显著减少。在这些描述的方法中,每次填满预定量的存储空间,就将记录从光盘的第一层切换到第二层。附图1示意性示出了这一点,其中路径1以及3表示写入序列,而路径2以及4表示层跳跃。如附图1所示,一个双层光盘包括两个信息层,通常称为为层0(L0)和层1(L1)。层0是位于接近于用于读取和/或记录信息的辐射束、诸如激光束进入该光盘的一侧的信息层。驱动器最初向层0(L0)写入预定量的信息(字块1),然后切换到层1(L1)写入下一个预定量的信息(字块2)。接下来,驱动器跳回层0在先前记录的块1后的预定数量的存储空间(字块3)中做记录。
然而,问题是根据上述方法记录的多层光盘不能毫无问题的被当今市场上的所有驱动器读取。
本发明的一个目标是提供一种可以被所有驱动器读取的多层记录载体,而所述多层记录载体仍然根据上述方法记录。
人们注意到根据上述方法记录的记录载体具有不同于在普通的双层DVD-ROM光盘上显示的逻辑块序列的逻辑块序列。用于读取根据上述方法记录的DVD光盘的新近发展的驱动器,尤其是DVD+R双层驱动器,可以适合于补偿这个不同的序列。然而,例如类似于现有的DVD-ROM驱动器的传统驱动器通常不能毫无问题的读取根据上述方法记录的这些记录载体。根据本发明,记录载体包括特殊的第一会话,该会话被记录得能够被所有传统驱动器读取,并且所述特殊的第一会话包括使得所有传统驱动器接下来能够读取根据上述方法记录的整个记录载体的特定信息。
这种特殊第一会话可以在制造期间预先记录在记录载体上,或还可以在记录载体第一次使用期间记录在记录载体上。
接下来,结合附图2更详细地解释本发明,其示出根据本发明记录载体的一个实施例。附图2所示的记录载体包括两个信息层(层0以及层1)。特殊第一会话(会话-1)记录在信息层层0上,而信息层层1上与信息层层0上保留会话-1的的区域相对的区域被写入空数据。或者,特殊第一会话(会话-1)的第一部分记录在信息层层0上而这个特殊第一会话的第二部分记录在层1上,而信息层层1上到会话-结束处为止所有可能剩余的存储空间用空数据写入。这种特殊第一会话可以由传统驱动器读取。
优选的,特殊第一会话具有一个小的尺寸,例如2兆字节,以便不减少用户太多可用的存储空间。
在本发明的一个实施例中,特殊第一会话(会话-1)包括告知用户该光盘是特定的DVD+R双层光盘的信息。这种信息还可以包括如何从这种记录载体上读取用户信息的指令。这种信息例如可以是文本文件或HTML文件的形式,所述文件例如可以通过自动运行文件运行。
在本发明的一个实施例中,过滤驱动器(通常称为“驱动器”)保存在特殊第一会话(会话-1)中。为了获得传统驱动器的读取支持,这种过滤驱动器可以从记录载体中读取并且随后用来执行一种转换,所述转换是将逻辑块地址(由应用程序使用的)转换为对应的物理块地址(记录载体上存储的)以及适当的信息层。这种转换是必需的,因为在通过待定的欧洲专利申请EP03103210.5(PHNL031042)和EP03103217.0(PHNL031046)中所述的方法所写的记录载体上逻辑块地址以及物理块地址之间的关系不同于标准的双层ROM记录载体的关系。现在,当使用这种过滤驱动器(即驱动器)时,根据本发明的记录载体对于传统驱动器看起来像是标准双层ROM记录载体。在光盘本身上的特殊第一会话中存储过滤驱动器(即驱动器)的备选方案是,特殊第一会话包括指向这种过滤驱动器有效位置处的指针。例如,特殊第一会话可以包括提供用于从互联网下载过滤驱动器(即驱动器)的网络连接的HTML文件。
应注意到,适合于补偿记录载体上字块不同的序列并因此不需要特殊第一会话的新近发展的驱动器,可以适用于隐藏特殊第一会话,以便这种信息不显露和/或不(下载以及)安装过滤驱动器(即驱动器)。

Claims (6)

1.包括至少两个用于存储信息的信息层的多层记录载体,用户信息分部分记录在这种记录载体上,所述部分还可以记录在所述至少两个信息层上,记录载体包括包含特定信息的部分(特殊第一会话),所述特定信息使得能够从记录载体上读取用户信息。
2.根据权利要求1的多层记录载体,其中特定信息包括用于将逻辑块地址转换为物理块地址的过滤驱动器(驱动器)。
3.根据权利要求1的多层记录载体,其中特定信息包括指向用于将逻辑块地址转换为物理块地址的过滤驱动器的位置的指针。
4.在多层记录载体上记录信息的方法,所述多层记录载体包括至少两个用于存储信息的信息层,用户信息分部分记录在记录载体上,所述部分还可以记录在所述至少两个信息层上,所述方法包括记录包含特定信息的部分(特殊第一会话)的起始步骤,特定信息使得能够从记录载体中读取用户信息。
5.根据权利要求4的方法,其中特定信息包括用于将逻辑块地址转换为物理块地址的过滤驱动器(驱动器)。
6.根据权利要求4的方法,其中特定信息包括指向用于将逻辑块地址转换为物理块地址的过滤驱动器(驱动器)的位置的指针。
