技术领域

背景技术
金属化表面或薄的金属膜或层,例如由金属喷涂或者热蒸发技术制造的,通常使用在电子制造、食品包装材料和窗涂层等领域。大部分的这种金属表面的层或者膜的量级为100,因此对于在通常的处理过程中极易发生的刮擦非常敏感。为了避免刮坏,金属层特别的覆盖有一种厚度为250,000量级的聚合物材料附加层,从而使上述量级的金属层更加抗刮。然而,用于传导电信号的金属层或膜,例如在半导体或者其他电子元件中的,如电化电池,不能用聚合物层覆盖金属层。因此,导电的金属膜对于刮擦极其敏感。甚至非常轻微的刮擦,例如由灰尘引起的,都可能严重地破坏金属层的导电路径。

发明内容

在本发明的进一步说明中,首先描述具体装置,即包括金属化表面或金属膜或层的层状结构,随后说明制造具体装置的方法。
具体装置
关于附图,特别是图1,表示的是本发明的一种典型的层状结构50的放大的侧视图。层状结构50包括基片52和导电膜或者层54。层状结构50的上表面包括带纹路的图案56。通过这种纹路,使得这种薄膜、层或者表面具有一种起伏的、三维的构形。本发明的这种层状结构具有通过在其中的的微小凹槽或者在其上的微型结构或者二者结合所形成的峰58和谷60。这种微小凹槽和微型结构可以限定为一种重复的或均匀的几何图案或者一种无序的非几何图案,比如霜状图案或类似图案。这种凹槽或者结构可以具有一种全方向或者单向的布局。全方向的图案特别适用于抵抗在任意方向产生的刮擦,而单方向的图案适用于抵抗在单一方向产生的刮擦,例如,在以滚筒为基础的制造过程中沿着滚筒的方向。
这种纹路特征的峰谷的间距大于金属膜、层或表面54的厚度,该距离的范围从最薄的金属膜的厚度的5倍到金属膜厚度的250倍。同样,这种纹路在其最深点处的量级大于传统金属膜或层,因而可延伸到层状结构的基片层。
这种峰峰之间或谷谷之间的距离在本申请中可以是任意合适的距离,但特别的可以是10,000左右到1,000,000左右的范围内,且可以进一步为50,000左右到250,000左右。在垂直方向的峰谷间距离,即凹陷处的深度或者微型结构的高度,特别的可以从500左右到500,000,且可以进一步为10,000左右到25,000左右,而且不小于100。
图2、3和4表示的是本发明的有纹路的、导电的膜或层或金属化表面的典型实施例。图2A和图2B的金属化表面具有一种有纹路的图案或者一种在上表面8形成的复数个重复的或均匀的穴或凹槽2和从上表面8到下表面4的倾斜的壁6。凹槽2最好但不要求一定每个都相同具有相同的尺寸和形状。例如,凹槽2可以为倒金字塔或者截锥体形状;然而,任意适合的形状都可以被采用,包括(但不限定于)倒钻石形、三角形、矩形和圆锥形,其中凹槽2可以限定为一种倾斜的或者直的构形。
图3A和3B表示金属化表面的另一实施例20,其具有一种纹路图案或者复数个重复的或均匀的微型结构22。微型结构22最好是但不要求一定是每个都相同具有相同的尺寸和形状。例如,微型结构22为倒金字塔或者截锥体形状,其有四个从底部的平面28延伸到顶部平面24的侧面或壁26;然而,任意适合的形状都可以被采用,包括(但不限定于)钻石形、三角形、矩形和圆锥形,其中微型结构22可以限定为一种倾斜的或者直的构形。
图2A显示了在金属膜10上的“沿滚筒方向”的刮痕12和14,其平行于包着金属膜10的滚筒的运动方向16。同时,图3A显示了“横滚筒”产生的刮痕26,其垂直于包着金属膜20的滚筒的运动方向30。当然,刮痕可能产生在与金属膜运动方向成任意角度的位置。
在膜10的上表面8产生的刮痕12是浅痕,其深度相对于凹槽2的深度最小,比如,小于100。因此,这些刮痕不会破坏膜10的电传导连续性。刮痕14比刮痕12有一个相对更深的深度范围,从100左右到20,000左右但不会大于25000左右。横滚筒刮痕26的深度也相对较深,具有和纵向刮痕14同样的深度范围。对于本发明的带有纹路的金属膜,甚至这些较深的刮痕14、26都不会太大的增加金属膜的电阻。只有当延伸到金属膜10、20的底面4、28的时候,这些刮痕才会较显著的破坏金属膜的电传导路径。然而,如此深的刮痕在干净的、受控的环境下的生产过程中不太可能产生。
图4A和4B分别表示了有纹路的金属膜具体实施例30和40,其具有霜式图案或者霜结构。图4A和4的微型结构是任意无规则分布的,即不是均匀分布在膜表面的且可以具有不同的高度。这些微型结构的密度在膜表面也可能不同。比如,图4B的膜40就具有比图4A中的膜30更密的霜结构,即膜40含有更多的微型结构且之间更紧密而膜30则含有较少的微型结构且之间分开稍远。这些实施例中微型结构的峰谷高度和峰峰间距与上文所述的有几何图案的金属膜具有同样的数值范围。
虽然这些图表示了重复几何图案和无序的霜式图案的实施例,但这些实施例仅是典型的实施例并不能被视为对本发明的限制。
具体装置的制造
如上所述,本发明的有纹路的金属化表面或金属膜非常适用于在电化学装置(如在被分析物的测量分析中使用的电化学测试条)中的导电层。举例说明,有纹路的金属化表面或金属膜的制造将通过下文的电化学测试条的制造来进行阐述,这种测试条上构成电化电池的电极的一部分为这种金属化表面或金属膜。
这种有纹路的金属化表面或膜的制造可以采用但不限于本发明所给出的各种便利的技术,包括微印、压花和铸造处理等。由于本发明的膜和由膜构成的测试条都是平面的,则这些膜优选使用一个或多个适当材料的滚筒、层或者片来进行制造和处理。这种滚筒基制造技术相对于一次一个的制造金属膜、测试条或者类似物的传统方法提供了相当大的成本优势。
虽然下文主要讨论的制造方法是滚筒基制造的制造方法,但所讨论的技术也可以用于制造只有一个部分用于单个的测试条或者类似物上的金属膜。此外,当倾向于使用某一制造技术时,那些可在制造具有复杂特征的小型装置时降低制造成本的、被认为是现有技术的成熟的制造技术也可以被采用。
在制造一个电化学测试条的电极时,将使用一种惰性的基片材料,其具有足够的刚性来作为电极的支撑结构。电极的导电层可以喷镀到惰性支撑结构的一个面上,从而产生一个金属薄膜。共同地,基片和金属膜形成了一个层状结构,其包含一个或者多个附加层。用于本发明的金属膜可通过Windsor,CT的Techni-Met公司制造,且包括,例如,喷镀在125微米的聚酯上且每平方米的电阻小于7欧姆的钯和喷镀在125微米的聚酯上且每平方米的电阻小于7欧姆的金。
美国专利申请No.10/013856公开了一种制造电化学测试条的具体的制造过程,其名称为“对启动化验计时的无源样本检测”(Passive Sample Detection toInitiate Timing of an Assay),在2001年12月10日提交申请,其中本发明的具有纹路的金属化表面和金属膜可以替代此参考文件中公开的金属表面或膜。关于图5,给出了采用本发明的这种典型的电化学测试条100的简要说明。
测试条100由底层102和顶层104组成,之间由一个薄的间隔层106分隔,其有一个切口部分确定的反应区108。通常,底层102和顶层104分别由长度为2到6厘米(通常为3到4厘米)、宽度为0.3到1厘米(通常为0.5到0.7厘米)、厚度为0.2到1.2毫米(通常为0.38到0.64毫米)的长矩形条构成。
底层102和顶层104各确定了一个基底110和112,分别由惰性支撑材料构成,其上沉积了(特别是通过喷镀)一种导电材料从而分别形成参比电极和工作电极,114和116。这种支撑材料特别为一种刚性材料可以为每个电极114和116提供支撑结构,从而构成整个电化学测试条。这种可用的材料包括塑料(例如PET、PETG、聚酰亚胺、聚碳酸酯、聚苯乙烯和聚酯)、硅、陶瓷、玻璃和类似物。导电材料优选一种金属,可选用的金属包括钯、金、铂、铱、掺杂铟的氧化锡、不锈钢、碳或类似物。例如,用钯涂层构成工作电极116而用金涂层构成参比电极114。
间隔层106位于或者夹在电极114和116之间。间隔层106的厚度通常在1到500μm范围内,且特别在50到150μm范围内。间隔层106可以用任意一种适宜的材料制成,其典型的适合的材料包括PET、PETG、聚酰亚胺、聚碳酸酯和类似物。间隔层106的表面可分别与电极114和116粘结从而保持电化学测试条10的结构。
间隔层106被切割出一个反应区域108,其可具有任意适宜的形状包括圆形、正方形、三角形、矩形或者不规则形状的反应区。反应区的顶部和底部由电极114和116相对的表面确定,同时间隔层106确定了反应区108的侧壁。反应区的体积范围在至少0.1到10μL左右,通常在0.2到5.0μL左右,特别为0.05到1.6μL左右。
反应区108提供一种氧化还原剂系统,其沉积在电极114的一端118附近,通常指一种信号产生系统,其提供与目标被分析物起化学反应的特定的试剂组分从而得到生物样本中的被分析物的浓度。这种氧化还原剂系统或者信号产生系统特别的包括至少一种酶组分和一种介质。
在许多实施例中,氧化还原剂系统中的酶组分包或一种或多种酶,其共同氧化/还原相关被分析物。换句话说,氧化还原剂系统中的酶组分是由一种单一的被分析物氧化/还原酶或者一组由两种或者更多的共同氧化还原相关被分析物的酶构成的。典型的酶包括氧化还原酶、水解酶、转移酶、脱氢酶、酯酶或类似物;然而,在反应区提供的具体的酶取决于电化学测试条所要测定的特定的被分析物。氧化还原剂系统的第二种组分是介质,其由一种或多种介质组成。在葡萄糖为被分析物而葡糖氧化酶或者葡糖脱氢酶为酶组分的实施例中,特选的介质为铁氰化物。反应区的其他反应物包括缓冲液,如柠康酸盐,柠檬酸盐,磷酸盐,“合适的(Good)”缓冲液或者类似物。氧化还原剂系统通常为干的形态。不同组分的量可以不同,其中酶组分的量特别在重量的0.1到20%范围内。
尽管在前述的发明为便于理解以图示和举例的方式进行了具体描述,但很显然在本发明的启示下产生的、进行了某种变化或者改型的技术是不背离本发明的宗旨的,且仍在权利要求书所保护的范围内。
Claims (12)
1.一种层状结构包括:
一个基片;
一个覆盖在所述基片的一个表面上的导电膜;和
一个在所述层状结构内的由凹槽形成的带纹路的图案,其中所述凹槽的深度大于所述导电膜的厚度。
2.一种层状结构包括:
一个基片;
一个覆盖在所述基片的一个表面上的导电膜;和
一个在所述层状结构内的由微型结构形成的带纹路的图案,其中所述微型结构的高度大于所述导电膜的厚度。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的层状结构,其中所述带纹路的图案为几何图案。
4.如权利要求1或2所述的层状结构,其中所述带纹路的图案为不规则图案。
5.如权利要求1或2所述的层状结构,其中所述带纹路的图案包括霜式图案。
6.一种层状结构包括:
一个基片;
一个覆盖在所述基片的一个表面上的导电膜,其具有一定厚度;和
一个在所述层状结构内的由峰和谷形成的带纹路的图案,其中所述峰和所述谷间的垂直距离不小于所述导电层厚度的5倍。
7.如权利要求6所述的层状结构,其中峰峰间的距离范围为10,000左右到1,000,000左右。
8.如权利要求6所述的层状结构,其中峰谷间的距离不小于100左右。
9.一种装置包括:
一具有一定厚度的金属化表面;和
一个由凹槽形成的带纹路的图案,其中所述凹槽的深度至少5倍于所述厚度。
10.一种装置包括:
一具有一定厚度的金属化表面;和
一个由微型结构形成的带纹路的图案,其中所述凹槽的高度至少5倍于所述厚度。
11.如权利要求9或10所述的装置,其中所述装置为电化学测试条且所述金属化表面为电极。
12.如权利要求9或10所述的装置,其中所述的带纹路的图案由一种或多种微型复制技术制成。
