背景技术
彩色PDP已被熟知,图1示出了在Marcotte提出的美国专利US6118214(以下称为Marcotte的214专利)中公开的一种彩色交流PDP的现有技术的实施例,其内容被引入本文作为参考。在一个前板上使用了透明电极11。前板(未示出)包括将透明电极11与维持总线12相连的多对水平维持(sustain)电极10。多对扫描电极14与成对的维持电极10并列,并且这两组电极组被绝缘层(未示出)和氧化镁层(未示出)覆盖。一个背板(未示出)支撑垂直屏蔽肋(barrier rib)16和多个垂直列电极18(在剖视图上显示)。单个列电极18由红、绿或蓝(RGB)磷覆盖,以实现全色彩显示。上述前版和背板密封在一起,并且前版和背板之间的空间充满可放电气体。

PDP的工作电压和功率由放电间隙13和透明电极11的宽度控制。PDP的工作电压由穿过放电间隙13的距离控制,因为该距离控制着用于给定气体混合物的击穿电压。而且,必须提供足够的电压,以便随后的气体放电等离子能够充分淹没扫描和维持电极对。放电所消耗的功率受电极对表面容量的影响。电极表面电容量与电极的面积成正比,且与介质厚度成反比。
选取维持电极10的宽度和扫描电极的宽度,以产生一窄的放电间隙13和一宽的像素间的间隙15。当跨过放电间隙13施加足够的电压时,气体将会击穿形成放电等离子。对于给定的施加电压,正电荷充电的电极是阳极,而负电荷充电的电极是阴极。放电等离子有两种不同的区域,阳极区和负向发光区。阳极区主要由在阳极表面快速移动的寻找正电荷的电子组成。相反,负向发光包括慢速移动的向带负电的阴极漂移并穿过带负电的阴极的离子组成。放电的持续时间受介电表面上的电荷数量限制。一旦电荷被中和,放电就自己会消失。在一维持时间期间内,在每一放电过程完成后,通过改变电压极性就可重复执行这一过程。必须使像素间的间隙15足够大,以阻止这些放电等离子中活跃的阳极区在像素间的间隙内搭桥并破坏相邻像素的ON和OFF状态。电极上的透明电极11的宽度和介电玻璃的厚度(未示出)决定像素的放电容,像素的放电容控制放电功率,进而控制亮度。对于给定的放电功率/亮度,在持续时间期间内,选择放电数量,可实现满足面板所需的全部亮度的灰度级。
图2示出了一种典型的现有技术的PDP系统200的方框图。一个模拟视频信号被输入逻辑电路230,该信号在逻辑电路230中被数字化,被处理,并被暂时存储起来。就象Shinoda提出的美国专利US5,724,054中所披露的那样,一旦存储了数据的帧值,逻辑电路230就开始通过通常为8到12的一系列子半帧(subfield),显示数据的处理过程。
图3的曲线图表示一个被分成8个子半帧(如:SF1-SF8)的帧周期。在由行驱动器210顺序扫描每一个寻址周期线Y1至Y480期间,还同时通过列驱动器225提供视频输入,以根据该视频输入的要求把每一个子像素设置为ON状态。利用维持脉冲对每一个后序的维持期间进行加权,以使每一子半帧实现加权的光强。
图4示出了一个子半帧的典型划分。每一个子帧都具有一建立(setup)周期、一寻址周期、以及一维持周期。该建立周期关闭任何一个ON像素,激励氧化镁层,并启动所有用于像寻址的像素。参见图2和图4,在寻址期间,扫描发生器205与行驱动器210相结合,顺序向下驱动用于寻址的每一行。一旦启动了一给定行,逻辑电路230就会根据所收到的图像数据,利用与需要照明的独立的RGB子像素相对应的图像数据对列驱动器225进行加载。列驱动器225为所选择的列电极施加电压Vx。一个所选择的行与一个所提供的列电压相一致导致微弱放电,这样的微弱放电可引起所选择的扫描电极与其相邻的维持电极之间的放电。一旦完成,放电将寻址子像素设置在ON状态。所有没有被驱动的列保持在OFF状态。虽然寻址放电产生可见光,但该可见光的亮度不足以正确地代表图像。因此,在最后一行被寻址后,维持周期紧接着寻址周期。在维持周期内,扫描发生器205和维持发生器220提供交替的维持脉冲,以使短暂的交流等离子放电发生在每一个应用脉冲内。每一维持放电产生紫外光,该紫外光激发周围的磷产生可见光。一帧内的每一子半帧包括足够数目的维持脉冲,并依次放电,使每一子半帧达到所需的亮度。由于每一子像素可在每一子半帧内独立寻址,因此,可以获得一个很大的彩色面板。
图5a表示位于扫描和维持电极之间的现有技术中所述的合成波形。由于扫描和维持电极的电容关系,合成波形只是扫描发生器205(图4所示的扫描波形)的输出减去维持发生器220的输出(图4所示的维持波形)。应注意,在图5a中并不包括所施加的数据脉冲。
图5b至5e表示用于每一个像素寻址序列的墙电压波形。墙电压是一出现在介电层的气体一侧的交流耦合电压。可由气体的击穿电压把墙电压限定为正和负值,即Vbr和-Vbr。
当击穿电压在两个方向上溢出时,会发生两种类型的放电,即熟知的负电阻放电及最近发现的正电阻放电。根据Weber提出的美国专利US5,745,086,参见图4,如果所加的波形慢慢上升或下降,如同建立周期t12和t15斜线上升和下降时,气体将会以正电阻特性放电,其动作过程非常像齐纳二极管,将跨过气体的电压限制在击穿电压Vbr。如果所加的电压大大超出了击穿电压,就象在维持周期t23、t24那样,会产生负电阻或雪崩放电,这样会把墙电压减小至零。一旦墙电压达到零,放电就自动消失。
寻址放电也是一种负电阻放电,正如Weber提出的美国专利US6,184,848所披露的(下文称“Weber的848专利”)那样,显示出阳极区放电的特性。Weber的848专利将阳极区放电流定义为具有触发小区(cell)和状态小区。面板的拓扑结构与图1相似,但有更少的透明电极11,因此产生了很大的放电间隙。在出现高的墙电压时,由于紧接着一寻址操作应用维持脉冲,因此,在带正电的背板电极和带负电的前板电极之间形成微弱放电。交叉部分被称为触发小区。微弱放电与很高的墙电压一起产生一个放电,其中等离子形成的两个非常不同的区域,即负向发光区与阳极区区。负向发光由慢速移动的带正电荷的离子组成,而阳极区由慢速移动的离子和快速移动的电子组成。电子移向带正电荷的阳极,而离子慢慢向带负电的阴极漂移。当微弱放电加强时,负向发光扩散到触发小区周围,而阳极区沿着背板的磷层扩散到带正电荷的状态小区。当电荷在触发小区和状态小区之间中和时,放电完成。
对于寻址放电,列电极和所选择的扫描电极的交叉部分形成触发小区,并且与相同的列电极相对应的维持电极的交叉部分形成状态小区。在建立周期t16完成时,启动每一个像素,使墙电压处于放电电位-Vbr。当寻址像素时,在所选择的扫描电极的交叉部分和每一被驱动的背板列电极部分形成微弱放电。放电发展,产生阳极区,该阳极区沿着带正电荷的背板电极扩散到带正电荷的维持电极。之后,放电消耗维持电极上的电荷,将墙电压减小至零。
图5b表示用于以前OFF像素的墙电压,OFF像素是为寻址,而不是为被寻址而设立的,并且在后面的维持周期内保持OFF。特别是,在设置周期中的上升斜线t12上升时,使墙电压位于击穿电压之上,并将墙电压钳位在Vbr。如图4所示,在t13加电压Ve确保寻址放电足够强,从而准确发生第一次维持放电。增加电压Ve有效地使第一次维持放电增强。过渡到下降斜线t13和t14会使墙电压翻转,而且下降斜线t15把墙电压钳位在-Vbr。建立周期结束时,墙电压为-Vbr。在图4所示的时间t17的行选择脉冲由于Vrf和0伏间的差值而稍微超出击穿电压。由于时间t15期间下降斜线停止在0伏之上的Vrf,因此,当在时间t17所加的行选择脉冲超出了击穿电压Vbr时,可有效地施加一个很小的负电压。因为由Vrf产生的这种有效负电压很小,并且在时间t17行选择脉冲的宽度很窄,因此,不会产生放电活动,除非数据电极上的视频输入支配的数据脉冲与如图4所示时间t17处的行选择脉冲一致。在图5b中,没有加数据脉冲,所以在时间t17处,没有放电活动。由于没有发生寻址放电,因此,在时间t21由第一维持脉冲产生的墙电压不大于正向击穿电压Vbr,并且不会发生维持放电。
图5c表示OFF像素的接通过程。如图5b中所示的那样,发生建立周期,在时间t17把数据脉冲(未示出)加到列,引发使墙电压返回零的寻址放电。在后面的时间t21处,在余下的行被寻址之后,第一维持放电将发生在被寻址的任一像素上。对于第一维持脉冲,与随后的维持脉冲不同,在降低维持电极之前驱动扫描电极变高。这种产生第一放电的方法可防止过早放电,如果在扫描电极电压上升到180伏的维持电压Vs之前,220伏的维持电极电压Ve下降,就会发生过早放电,这是因为在寻址期间使用了如图4所示的建立周期中的电压Ve。以前已被寻址过,击穿电压Vbr被超过,就会发生负电阻放电,再次将墙电压变为零。每一后续维持脉冲启动另一次放电,产生一个ON像素的光。
接着第一维持放电,扫描电极的下降沿将墙电压降至负击穿电压-Vbr。其他扫描电极的后续上升在气体上加上更大的电压,并超过击穿电压-Vbr,产生下一次放电。这个过程在维持周期期间内随着放电的前后变化一直持续着。
图5d表示ON像素的重新寻址过程。在时间t11加启动脉冲引起在前一个子半帧周期内最后一次负电阻放电。由于放电使墙电压回到零,t12处的上升斜线由于上升的墙电压没有超过Vbr而不会放电。下降斜线把墙电压限制到-Vbr,正如在图5b和图5c中那样。在时间t17处,用有行选择加数据脉冲,发生放电,并且使像素返回到ON状态。
图5e表示被下降的斜线t15删掉的ON像素,如图5d那样,然而,在后面的维持周期内并不被重新寻址,而是维持OFF状态。
如Marcotte的214专利所披露的,图1中的前板电极的成对配置有减小电极间电容的优点,这样就减小了每一维持脉冲由于对电极间电容的充电和放电而引起的能量消耗。但是,加大了垂直串扰的可能性。当位于一个放电位置的放电垂直扩散到相邻的放电位置时,就会发生垂直串扰。Marcotte的214专利使用一很大的像素间隙,来帮助增加垂直的像素与像素间的隔离。注意,背板屏蔽肋可提供水平像素隔离,但不能提供垂直像素隔离。在寻址放电期间,发生串扰的可能性最大,其中,在所选择的扫描电极和数据电极之间形成等离子放电,并且阳极区扩展到维持电极。
图6为示出串扰放电的寻址放电的时间序列放电结构。该图案为图1所示的PDP的截面图,表示上部的前板电极和由磷层覆盖的底部上的垂直取向的寻址电极。P1指图1所示的红色子像素19和垂直相邻的红色子像素P2,像素间间隙15将P1和P2分开。利用时间t17处的行选择脉冲与施加在寻址电极上的数据脉冲结合,发生用于每一行的时间t0。由加到扫描电极的下降斜线建立子像素,同时把Ve加到维持电极。这样就在t0之前,将负电荷加在扫描电极上,并将正电荷加在维持和背板电极上。Vrf允许行选脉冲稍微超过击穿电压,以有助于加快寻址放电。通过减小非选行上的负电荷,在图4所示的时间t16处由行驱动器210施加的扫描电压V扫 描,可将该扫描电压V扫描用做一行去选择电压,从而减小扫描电极上的墙电压。这样,可防止某一行的寻址会影响显示中的其他行。当选择行时,在时间t17墙电压完全返回,并且击穿电压Vbr如图5b所示被溢出。V扫描电压是一个消除选择(de-select)电压,并必须足够高,以确保存在列电压时,行与行充分隔离。
如果在图6所示的时间t0提供了数据脉冲,在背板寻址电极和有源扫描电极之间形成弱放电,并在时间t1,形成负电阻等离子放电。在时间t2,在维持电极上的正电荷的有效性允许阳极区快速吞没维持电极,然后在时间t3,能很容易通过像素间间隙扩展到临近的维持电极,从而耗尽临近像素P2的正电荷。当选择了P2的扫描电极而且驱动列电极时,可能产生从背板到前板的弱放电,然而,在扫描电极上没有正电荷,就不会形成等离子,扫描电极将会维持其上的负电荷,并且像素P2将保持OFF。
在由Vossen等人的名为“Symmetrically driven PDP,withminimizedcurret loops to reduce EMI”的文章中(以下称“Vossen等人的论文”),披露了使用交替寻址来减小PDP中的串扰。利用交替寻址,奇数行紧跟偶数行。这样,由于寻址奇数行而激活的气体将在寻址偶数行之前彻底消失。Vossen等人的论文也谈到使用Marcotte的214专利所述的成对电极结构的对称维持的PDP,有助于减少垂直串扰。但是,Vossen等的人论文没有描述或纠正这里所描述的垂直串扰的形式。特别是,Vossen等人的论文描述了利用作为不成对电极(如扫描,维持,扫描,维持)的电极结构进行寻址,它在寻址期间,在像素间间隙没有公共电位。在不成对的情况下,串扰放电事实上将在错误的方向上进行,将放电到不正确的维持电极上。使用交替寻址减小出现这种假象的可能性。
发明概述
本发明将等离子显示面板中像素间的串扰放电的可能性降至最低,同时保持成对电极结构的优点。还有,也可以减小像素间的间隙,以增大像素的尺寸,进而增加亮度,并且,可增加像素密度,实现更高分辨率的显示。
本发明通过在寻址期间减小非有源维持电极上的电压,来减小成对电极结构中的寻址放电串扰的可能性。通过减小非有源维持电极上的电压,在寻址放电中形成的阳极区将不会跨过像素间的间隙而扩散。维持电极被分为奇和偶行联合体。不改变设置和维持周期的操作。在寻址期间,寻址奇数行,同时减小偶数维持电极上的电压。一旦完成奇数行寻址,就把偶维持电极上的电压恢复成高电压,减小奇维持电极上的电压,并且寻址偶数行。
在本发明的一些实施例中,仅在寻址的前半部分期间减小非有源维持电极上的电压。在这种情况下,在寻址的后半部分期间,继续发生串扰。然而,因为串扰导致非有源小区在维持周期内一直是OFF,因此,这种情况是可以接受的。
如果可在寻址期间维持电极高,而扫描电极很低,本发明可以用于任何成对的电极结构,而与建立或者维持波形的变化无关,这样,可允许在扫描电极上形成放电,放电随后扩展到维持电极,中和其间的电压。
本发明提供一种用于控制PDP中的维持电极的方法。这种方法包括:允许第一维持电极产生寻址放电,并且,当第一维持电极产生寻址放电时,阻断第二维持电极。第一维持电极与第二维持电极相邻。
本发明的一个实施例是一用于控制PDP中维持电极的电路。该电路包括:一个输出,用于允许第一维持电极产生寻址放电,以及另一个输出,用于当第一维持电极产生寻址放电时,阻断第二维持电极。第一维持电极与第二维持电极相邻。
本发明的另一个实施例是一个PDP系统,该系统设有第一维持电极和与该第一维持电极相邻的第二维持电极;以及一个电路,该电路用于(a)允许第一维持电极产生寻址放电,以及(b)当第一维持电极产生寻址放电时,阻断第二维持电极。

具体实施方式
图7的示意图表示根据本发明的彩色PDP的一部分。PDP被设置成多个像素行,图中示出了其中三个,即“n”行中的像素720n,“n+1”行中的像素720n+1,以及“n+2”行中的像素720n+2。这些行交替地被称为奇数或偶数行,例如:把“n”行定义为偶数行,把n+1定义为奇数行。
图7所示的PDP部分包括一个与一组偶数维持电极710E相连的偶维持总线712E,一个与一组奇数扫描电极710O相连的奇维持总线712O,扫描电极714n、714n+1和714n+2以及列电极718R、718G和718B(分别为红,绿,蓝)。每一偶数维持电极710E与奇数维持电极710O相邻。例如,“n”行中的偶数维持电极710E与“n+1”行中的奇数维持电极710O相邻。还有,透明电极711与每一维持电极710E和710O、扫描电极714n、714n+1、714n+2相连。
一个维持电极、一个扫描电极以及一个列电极的交互部分限定一子像素。例如,维持电极710E、扫描电极714n、列电极718R的交互部分限定一子像素719R。屏蔽肋716将子像素相互分开。每一像素被定义为一个维持电极、一个扫描电极、以及三个列电极的交互部分的区域。例如:像素720n被限定在维持电极710E、扫描电极714n、列电极718R、718G、718B的互交部分的区域。像素间的间隙715被定义为相邻像素间的区域。
每一像素包括一个形成维持放电的间隙。例如:在像素720n,放电间隙713位于(a)与扫描电极714n相关的透明电极711和(b)与偶维持电极710E相关的透明电极之间。
奇/偶选择器820通过一奇数维持驱动线817O驱动奇维持总线712O,并通过一偶数维持驱动线817E驱动偶维持总线712E。列驱动器830分别通过列驱动线840R、840G和840B驱动列电极718R、718G、718B。行驱动器810通过行驱动线812n、812n+1、812n+2驱动扫描电极714n、714n+1、714n+2。下面参照图8进一步描述奇/偶选择器820、列驱动器830及行驱动器810的操作过程。
如上所述,图7仅仅示出了PDP的一部分。实际上,PDP将包括多个行和列。因此,列驱动器830将驱动比图7所示多的列,而行驱动器810将驱动比图所示7多的行。
图8为根据本发明所配置的PDP系统800的框图。系统800的主要部件包括:扫描发生器805、行驱动器810、PDP815、奇/偶选择器820、一维持发生器825、列驱动器830和逻辑电路835。
虽然维持发生器825以与维持发生器220相同的方式操作(图2),但在寻址期间,给奇/偶选择器820提供电压Ve。
奇/偶选择器820为一采用根据本发明的控制PDP中维持电极方法的电路。这种方法包括:(a)允许第一维持电极产生寻址放电,以及(b)当第一维持电极产生寻址放电时,阻断第二维持电极,其中第一维持电极与第二个维持电极相邻。
奇/偶选择器820控制偶维持电极710E和奇维持电极710o。它通过到维持驱动线817E的输出,为偶维持电极710E提供隔离电压(Viso),并通过到维持驱动线817O的输出,为奇数维持电极710O提供电压Viso。Viso的用途将在下面进一步解释。
图9为在时间t17,偶数行寻址期间(奇行在时间t17处是隔离的),奇偶维持电极的波形图。假设这是用于扫描电极714n、偶维持电极710E及奇维持电极710O的波形。X数据波形代表列驱动器830到列驱动线840R、840G和840B之一的输出。利用图9所示波形工作的图7所示PDP的典型工作电压应当是400v的启动电压Vw、180v的维持电压Vs、120v的扫描电压Vscan、10v的斜偏置电压Vrf、220v的启动/删除电压Ve、0-120伏(Viso一般至少比电压Ve低60v)隔离电压Viso、及65v的数据电压Vx。
偶维持电极710E上的电压参考扫描电极714n的电压。奇维持电极710O的电压参考扫描电极714n+1的电压。在建立周期内建立这些参考值。在建立周期内,奇/偶选择器820为偶维持电极710E和奇维持电极710O提供电压Ve,并进而启动这两个电极。
在t25时,开始寻址周期,奇/偶选择器820将提供给偶维持电极710E的电压减小至Viso,并因此减小偶维持电极电压710E和扫描电极714n之间的压差,进而减小其幅值。这样会在寻址周期的前半部分阻断偶组。注意,在寻址周期的前半部分,奇维持电极710O是被启动的。在时间t26时,奇/偶选择器820重新把偶维持电极710E上的电压设置为Ve,并将奇维持电极710O上的电压减为Viso,因此减小奇维持电极710O和扫描电极714n+1电压之间的压差的幅值。因此,在时间t26,奇偶组在寻址周期后半部分转换角色,使奇组被阻断,而偶组被启动。在时间t17,在寻址周期的后半部分,偶维持电极710E对扫描电极714n寻址放电。在时间t17,通过奇维持电极710O上的低电势(即Viso)将偶维持电极710E和奇维持电极710O之间的串扰降至最小。这是因为偶维持电极710E上的启动电压参考扫描电极714n的电压,而奇维持电极710O的阻断电压Viso当参考扫描电极714n的电压时,其幅值将低于启动电压Ve的幅值。同样,行选择和各自的列数据由逻辑电路835同步成奇行在先,随后紧跟偶行的序列。
在图9中,寻址周期内的扫描电极714n上的负脉冲标志着寻址特定像素的时刻。这样的脉冲发生在t17。注意,也是在t17,偶维持电极710E的电压为Ve(并因此被启动),而奇维持电极710O的电压为Viso(并因此被阻断)。因此,图9所示的波形是用于寻址PDP815中的偶行,更具体地说,是“n”行。
在第一维持周期内的时刻t20,扫描电极714n上的电压有一上升沿,而在t21,偶维持电极710E的电压有一下降沿。在t17由偶维持电极710E产生的寻址放电允许偶维持电极710E在t22期间产生第一维持放电。
图10a为图9所示扫描波形和偶维持波形的合成波形,图10b为一墙电压的波形,用于根据本发明的偶电极带上的OFF子像素。由于此图为OFF子像素,所以击穿电压只在两个建立斜线期间溢出,其中墙电压被限制在Vbr至-Vbr,大约为+-200伏。
合成波形是由扫描电极电压减去维持电极电压形成的。例如:假设在偶维持电极710E和扫描电极714n的情况下。在寻址周期的前半部分的t25时,将偶维持电极710E的电压从Ve减小至Viso,可引起复合电压的增加,从而减小跨过气体的电压。当偶维持电极710E的电压在寻址周期的后半部分从Viso增加至Ve时,墙电压恢复到接近击穿电压-Vbr,因此,在t17应用的行选择脉冲稍微超出了击穿电压-Vbr。
图11和12表示像素寻址放电结构的截面图。特别是,图11表示奇数像素P1的寻址放电结构,而图12表示相邻的偶像素P2。在图11中,P1的维持电极依赖于被启动的奇维持带,因此其上有多于被阻断的偶维持电极上的正电荷。P1寻址放电是利用所提供的数据脉冲开始的,但是,减少偶维持电极上的正电荷会减少阳极区向P2像素空间扩散的倾向。施加在偶电极上的电压Viso越低,隔离程度就越大。
P1上寻址放电中和跨过像素部位的电压,因此,阻断寻址后半部分的奇组,将会由于电压的下降导致奇维持电极上有少量负电荷。因为与气体的击穿电压相比,电压变化很小,所以这种效果可以不计。启动偶维持电极将其恢复到全充满正电荷,所以,当选中P2并且形成放电时,在P2维持电极上有足够的正电荷能有效地形成等离子去中和扫描电极的负电荷。
图13为本发明一种变化的PDP的扫描和维持电极的波形图,其中维持电极的电压被减至Viso,提供小区与小区的隔离。由于在t17由负行选脉冲在扫描处顺序地选择每一行,一个相应的维持电极返回到维持端的放电电压Ve,因而,在维持端提供一正的行选。该实施例可以通过使用维持端的行驱动器替代图7所示的奇/偶选择器820来实现。
图14为本发明的另一不同的PDP的奇偶维持电极的波形图,其中,维持电极被分成奇偶维持总线。行驱动器810在寻址周期内,提供顺序的负向行选脉冲,而当行选脉冲被提供给每一扫描电极时,维持电极电压在Viso和Ve之间变化。图14中,在时间t17,当偶维持电极被驱动到隔离电压Viso,而奇维持电极被驱动到维持侧的寻址电压Ve时,选中一奇行。
图15为PDP的奇偶维持电极的波形图,其中,把通常比电压Ve高10v的正向增加电压Vf提供给奇或偶维持电极总线。通过增加寻址放电传送的电荷,这种设置方式可提供跨过像素的额外电压,提高面板的寻址余度。正向电压Vf也可应用于图13与图14的波形。
应该理解,上述描述仅仅是为了说明本发明,在不脱离本发明精神的情况下,本领域的技术人员可以提出各种变化与修改。例如:本发明可以应用在其他的交流PDP和波形组态中,其中寻址放电跨过像素扩展,并可跨过像素间的间隙扩散,在相邻维持电极上寻找正电荷。本发明包括落入所附权利要求保护范围内的所有这些变动、修改及变形。
Claims (21)
1、一种控制等离子显示板(PDP)中维持电极的方法,其步骤包括:
允许第一维持电极产生寻址放电,并且当所述第一维持电极正在产生所述寻址放电时,阻断一第二维持电极,
其中所述第一维持电极与所述第二维持电极相邻。
2、根据权利要求1的方法,其中所述第一维持电极位于所述PDP的第一行,而所述第二维持电极位于所述PDP的第二行。
3、根据权利要求1的方法,其中所述允许可使所述第一维持电极在维持周期内产生维持放电,而所述阻断防止所述第二维持电极在所述维持周期内产生维持放电。
4、根据权利要求1的方法,其中所述允许将一允许电压提供到所述第一维持电极,而所述阻断可把一阻断电压提供到所述第二维持电极。
5、根据权利要求4的方法,其中所述允许电压以扫描电极电压为参考,而所述阻断电压当以所述扫描电极电压为参考电压时其幅值低于所述允许电压。
6、根据权利要求1的方法,其中所述第一维持电极在寻址周期的第一部分内被寻址,而所述第二维持电极在所述寻址周期的第二部分内被寻址。
7、根据权利要求6的方法,其中所述寻址周期的第一部分为所述寻址周期的前半部分,而所述寻址周期的第二部分为所述寻址周期的后半部分。
8、一种用于控制等离子显示板中维持电极的电路,包括:
一个输出,用于允许一第一维持电极产生寻址放电;以及
一个输出,用于在所述第一维持电极正在产生所述寻址放电时阻断一第二维持电极;
其中所述第一维持电极与所述第二维持电极相邻。
9、根据权利要求8的电路,其中所述第一维持电极位于所述PDP的第一行,而所述第二维持电极位于所述PDP的第二行。
10、根据权利要求8的电路,其中所述用于允许的输出可使所述第一电极在维持周期内产生维持放电,
而所述用于阻断的输出阻止所述第二维持电极在一维持周期内产生维持放电。
11、根据权利要求8的电路,其中所述用于允许的输出将一允许电压提供到所述第一维持电极,而所述用于阻断的输出将一阻断电压提供到所述第二维持电极。
12、根据权利要求11的电路,其中所述允许电压以扫描电极电压为参考电压,而所述阻断电压当以所述扫描电极电压为参考电压时其幅值低于所述允许电压。
13、根据权利要求8的电路,其中所述的第一维持电极在寻址周期的第一部分内被寻址,而所述的第二维持电极在所述的寻址周期的第二部分内被寻址。
14、根据权利要求13的电路,其中所述寻址周期的第一部分为所述寻址周期的前半部分,而所述寻址周期的第二部分为所述寻址周期的后半部分。
15、一个系统,包括:
一等离子显示板,它具有一第一维持电极以及一与所述第一维持电极相邻的第二维持电极;以及
一个电路,用于(a)允许所述第一维持电极产生寻址放电;
并(b)在所述第一维持电极产生所述寻址放电时阻断所述第二维持电极。
16、根据权利要求15的PDP系统,其中所述第一维持电极位于所述PDP的第一行,而所述第二维持电极位于所述PDP的第二行。
17、根据权利要求15的PDP系统,其中所述允许可使所述第一电极在一维持周期内产生维持放电,
而所述阻断可阻止所述第二维持电极在所述维持周期内产生维持放电。
18、根据权利要求15的PDP系统,其中所述允许将一允许电压提供到所述第一维持电极,而所述阻断将一阻断电压提供到所述第二维持电极。
19、根据权利要求18的PDP系统,其中所述允许电压以扫描电极电压为参考电压,而所述阻断电压当以所述扫描电极电压为参考电压时其幅值低于所述允许电压。
20、根据权利要求15的PDP系统,其中所述第一维持电极在寻址周期的第一部分内被寻址,而所述第二维持电极在所述的寻址周期的第二部分内被寻址。
21、根据权利要求20的PDP系统,其中所述寻址周期的第一部分为所述寻址周期的前半部分,而所述寻址周期的第二部分为所述的寻址周期的后半部分。
