技术领域
本发明涉及恒温器和其他热舒适度控制器,尤其是指用于热舒适度控制器的多语言用户界面。
背景技术
目前的热舒适度控制器,或恒温器,仅仅具有有限的用户界面,其中典型的包括几个数据输入按钮和一个小显示器。在下文中,术语恒温器将用于指普通的舒适度控制设备,而且不进行限制。例如,除了传统恒温器,目前的这种控制设备也可以是湿度调节器或用于通风控制。众所周知,恒温器经常具有恢复原位的性能,其涉及可编程的温度时间表。例如,温度时间表能够被这样编程,以便在冬天早上6:00点当全家人醒来时房间中自动加温至72度,而在白天当全家人去工作或上班时房间中会降至60度,而在下午4:00回暖至72度,然后在晚上11:00之后当全家人睡觉时降温一段时间最后至60度。这种在非高峰时期降低温度的时间表可以节约能源。
将温度恢复原位的时间表是一个能由舒适度控制器使用的控制算法的例子。当然,上述控制算法在不同的气候下也会有所不同。而控制算法也会基于个人喜好而有所不同。有些人可能会希望在冬天房间比其他人更温暖一些。
在过去,由于用户经常不能理解如何正确编程控制器,所以导致可编程的舒适度控制器使用起来很麻烦。就其母语不是英语的人、或者在国外旅行的和留在旅馆或其他房子里的人来说,由于控制器上的按钮、控制以及显示的内容通常都是英文的,所以致使编程舒适度控制器就更加困难了。
在现有技术中需要用于其中更容易编程温度时间表的恒温器的用户界面。为了使编程更容易,用户应当能够选择想要优先使用的语言,并可以在舒适度控制器上以所选择的偏爱语言查看该切换等。另外,为使编程和使用控制器更容易,不同的控制算法也应该是用户可获得以从中进行选择的。这样不同的控制算法就可以在生产过程中被编程,或在安装后从因特网或其它网络上载入。
发明概述
本发明能够被视为一种用于热舒适度控制器的多语言用户界面系统。该用户界面系统包括一中央处理单元,一存储器,一带有用于输入的触摸屏的显示器、以及一语言选择器。一些实施例还包括网络接口。存储器用来保存至少一个控制算法,以及至少一个用户界面对象。语言选择器用来选择偏爱语言。一旦选定偏爱语言,显示单元就会使用存储器中与该偏爱语言匹配的用户界面对象。这样,在显示单元上向用户呈现的控制、标注等也是以用户选定的偏爱语言显示的。在一个实施例中,当舒适度控制器在安装后首次加电使用时,用户就会被要求选择偏爱语言,然后再将此用户界面对象载入。在一些实施例中,用户界面对象是通过因特网装入的。控制算法也可以被载入,以便用户能按照用户气候和个人喜好进行选择。

具体实施方式
本发明是一种用于恒温器或其他舒适度控制器的多语言用户界面系统。在附图中,使用相同的附图标记来标注相应的元件。其附图标记包括:

参见附图,图1是用于舒适度控制器的用户界面系统的一个实施例的框图。该用户界面系统包括一中央处理单元100。这一中央处理单元100连接到一显示单元200、一网络接口950、和一存储器300。显示单元200包括一触摸屏,以便用户不需要键盘或鼠标就能输入数据。存储器300保存一个或多个用户界面对象400、以及一个或多个控制算法500。在一些实施例中,存储器300还能够保存一个或多个初始用户界面对象600。用户界面系统也可以包括到加热/冷却设备或恒温器的管道800,以便使用户界面系统与恒温器或其他舒适度控制器相互通信。
显示单元200包括一图形显示/触摸屏幕。该结构提供灵活的图形信息显示,以及用户友好的数据输入机制。显示单元200可以类似于在手持个人数字助理(“PDA”)中使用的触摸屏显示器,比如3COM生产的PALM牌PDA、HEWLETT PACKARD生产的JORNADA牌PDA等。当然,图形用户界面系统也可以与恒温器本身构成整体结构。在上述实施例中,一触摸液晶显示器连接到恒温器的已有中央处理单元和RAM。
控制算法500可以由用户编程或者选择。所述控制算法500可以是一定点时间表,它包括一个与一个温度列表有关的时间列表。热度控制器根据上述定点时间表升高或降低温度。例如,定点时间表可以被设定为在早上6:00调整温度为60度,然后在6:30调整温度为67度,再在8:00将温度升高到73度等等。
图2显示了包括书写笔700的用户界面系统的一个实施例的视图。在图2中,该用户界面系统作为恒温器墙单元的一个整体而安装。用户界面系统的显示单元200显示了定点温度时间表的图形表示。在本实施例中这些图形表示是以时间和温度作为坐标轴的曲线图。这一曲线图被标记为920。还显示了包括时间和温度的其他数据910。当然,还可以显示其他数据,诸如当前日期、星期、以及室内/室外相对湿度等。
显示单元200还可以配置有附加控制905,其能够例如在华氏和摄氏温度之间、在标准和军事时间之间、以及在显示一天的时间表和显示一周的时间表之间切换显示。该附加控制被标记为905。在图2中,还包括查阅时间表的控制、编程新时间表的控制、以及手动控制加热/冷却房间的控制。除了在显示单元200上编程和显示的附加控制905以外,恒温器的物理按钮915也能够被编程用于和用户界面系统一起工作。这都与PDA的操作相似。
在图2中还有一个附加控制905,其允许用户选择偏爱语言。一旦选定偏爱语言,显示单元就会使用存储器中的用户界面对象400以正确地以所选定的偏爱语言显示所有文本信息。例如,在图2中,如果选定一非英语语言作为偏爱语言,则附加控制905、显示信息910以及标注920都会以所选偏爱语言重新显示出来。这使得母语不是英语的用户也可以很容易地使用舒适度控制器了。
在本发明的一个实施例中,在存储器中没有任何用户界面对象、初始界面对象、或控制算法的情况下,舒适度控制器也能被安装。在安装后初次加电使用时,舒适度控制器被编程为经由网络接口950载入初始界面对象600。例如,舒适度控制器可以从因特网中的一网页中获得初始界面对象600。或者,舒适度控制器的网络接口950也可以包括一个连接到电话线上的调制解调器。在上述实施例中,初始界面对象600可以是作为文件下载的。初始界面对象600显示在显示单元200上,并请求用户选择偏爱语言。而一旦选定了偏爱语言,适当的用户界面对象400就会被下载。在另外一个实施例中,舒适度控制器可以通过网络接口950连接到PDA、膝上型电脑、或由舒适度控制器安装者携带的类似设备。安装者的PDA或电脑包括可通过电缆、红外端口、射频端口或其它通信方法从存储器中访问的控制算法库、初始界面对象库和用户界面对象的库。
当然,由于现在的存储器很经济,本发明的一些实施例从生产商载入了已存储在存储器300中的初始界面对象和用户界面对象400的众多语言版本。如果在存储器300中已经保存了足够的语言版本,那么网络接口950就不再是必需的。否则,如果偏爱语言不是在存储器300中有用户界面对象400的那种,那么网络接口就是必需的。
同样的,一些实施例中载入了已经存储在存储器中的控制算法500。用户可以从中选择控制算法,或者能够选择通过网络接口950下载更新的或增加的控制算法500。
显示在显示单元200上的图形表示、控制和其他数据可以由存储在存储器300中的计算机程序进行管理。该计算机程序可由任意计算机语言编程。可能使用的计算机语言包括C,JAVA,或VISUAL BASIC。
热舒适度控制器和用户界面系统可以以多种方式工作。用户界面系统可以适当集成到热度控制系统中,并像现在可编程的恒温器一样安装在墙上。虽然,如果在手持PDA上配置用户界面系统,那么,用户界面可以通过PDA上的红外传感器与热舒适度控制器相互通信。或者,PDA可以与个人电脑同步,该个人电脑对热舒适度控制器设置合适的指令。再或,PDA可以使用蜂窝/移动电话功能与控制器(即恒温器,个人电脑等等)打电话以交换相关和关联数据。

Claims (13)

1.一种用于可编程舒适度控制器的用户界面系统,包括:
一中央处理单元;
一存储器,能保存至少一个用户界面对象和至少一个控制算法,所述存储器连接到所述中央处理单元;
一带有触摸屏的显示单元,连接到所述中央处理单元,用于图形显示所述用户界面对象,并允许用户编程所述控制算法;以及
一语言选择器,允许选择一种用户偏爱语言,以便所述显示单元将采用所述偏爱语言的所述用户界面对象显示出来。
2.如权利要求1所述的用户界面系统,进一步包括一个用于连接到网络的网络接口,并且该网络接口连接到所述中央处理单元。
3.如权利要求1所述的用户界面系统,进一步包括至少一个保存在所述存储器中的初始用户界面对象,所述初始界面对象由所述语言选择器使用以选择所述偏爱语言。
4.如权利要求2所述的用户界面系统,其特征在于:该网络接口使所述用户界面系统连接到因特网。
5.如权利要求2所述的用户界面系统,其特征在于:该网络接口使所述用户界面系统连接到电话网。
6.如权利要求2所述的用户界面系统,其特征在于:该网络接口使用户界面系统连接到无线电话网。

9.一种用于对具有一个用户界面系统的热舒适度控制器的编程方法,该用户界面系统包括:一个中央处理单元,一个能够保存至少一个用户界面对象以及至少一个控制算法的存储器,一个带有触摸屏、用于图形显示所述用户界面对象并允许用户编程所述控制算法的显示单元,以及一个允许选择一种用户偏爱语言以便在所述显示单元上将采用所述偏爱语言的所述用户界面对象显示出来的语言选择器,其中所述存储器,显示单元和语言选择器都连接到所述中央处理单元,该方法包括以下步骤:
向所述存储器中载入至少一个初始用户界面对象,以便所述语言选择器使用;
显示所述初始界面对象,以请求用户选择一种语言;
用所述语言选择器选择偏爱语言;以及

13.一种交互式显示单元,包括:
一中央处理单元;
一存储器,能保存至少一个用户界面对象和至少一个控制算法,所述存储器连接到所述中央处理单元;
一带有触摸屏的显示单元,连接到所述中央处理单元,用于图形地显示所述用户界面对象,并允许用户编程所述控制算法;
一语言选择器,允许选择一种用户偏爱语言,以便所述显示单元将采用所述偏爱语言的所述用户界面对象显示出来。
