本发明涉及一种用于同时记录和显示两个不同的视频节目的信号处理技术。
背景技术的说明
电视观众希望同时记录和观看来自两个不同的视频源的节目,例如卫星电视节目和标准的地面广播节目。然而,不同的视频源产生具有不同的水平和垂直同步速率的视频信号。因而,需要两个单独的视频译码器和显示发生系统,以便使得能够在观看一个节目的同时,产生可以作为基带视频输出被记录的并在画中画(PIP)中被观看的另一个节目的输出信号(通过把所述基带视频信号插入一个标准的PIP电路中)。这种系统需要两个电视接收机的硬件。
因此,需要一种视频处理装置,其具有一个视频译码器系统,所述译码器系统能够由第一视频信号显示主图像,同时由第二视频信号产生可记录的信号,并产生用于监视所述可记录的信号的PIP图像。
发明概述

详细说明
图1表示用于译码来自不同视频源的多个视频信号的视频译码器系统50的方块图。所示的实施例译码和系统50相连的一对编码的视频信号(视频1和视频2)。系统50使用这样的处理器,所述处理器处理例如利用运动图像专家组(MPEG)标准编码的一对信号。这些信号由视频译码器系统50从卫星电视接收机、高清晰度电视(HDTV)接收机、数字有线接收机、盒式录像机(VCR)及其类似的装置接收。
系统50包括译码器装置100,显示器52(例如电视机)和视频处理装置58(例如盒式录像机)。译码器装置100使用公共的译码和定时电路接收并译码两个视频信号,即视频1和视频2,从而产生用于主图像54(例如来自视频1)的信号和用于在用于在视频处理装置58上记录的并在PIP图像56中显示的信号(例如来自视频2)。译码器装置100可以是一个独立的装置。此外,译码器装置100可以被集中地包含在卫星电视接收机、高清晰度电视(HDTV)接收机、数字有线接收机、盒式录像机(VCR)及其类似的装置内。图1a表示包含在电视接收机60内的译码器装置100。图1b表示包含在视频处理装置70内的译码器装置100。这样,系统50同时产生用于显示和用于记录的视频信号。因而,系统50能够在PIP图像56中监视可记录的信号。通过使用公共电路处理两个视频信号,译码器装置100可以用比现有技术的译码器装置更低的成本制造。
图2是图1所示的译码器装置100的详细方块图。译码器装置100包括主频道处理电路148,次频道处理电路150和公共电路152。
两个视频信号(视频1和视频2)作为压缩数据由译码器装置同时且相互独立地接收。主压缩数据由主频道存储缓存器106接收,次频道压缩数据由次频道存储缓存器136接收。主压缩数据和次频道压缩数据被提供给MPEG视频可变长度译码器(VLD)管道104,其译码主次频道压缩数据的可变长度编码,并把译码数据信号流提供给公共MPEG视频译码器管道120。通过使用交叉处理,管道120译码两个视频信号,并把译码的主频道视频帧提供给主频道存储缓存器106,把译码的次频道视频帧提供给次频道存储缓存器136。因为MPEG视频译码器管道120被两个视频信号共用,所以使用两个译码速率中的较快的一个译码所述两个信号,即60Hz的译码速率比59.94Hz的译码速率优先使用。当然,如果两个视频信号具有相同的译码速率,则管道120使用两个信号的译码速率。在译码速率不同的情况下,较慢的输入视频流的处理速度比所需的快。因而,对于较慢的流的译码处理有时会停止,从而确保在主频道存储缓存器106或次频道存储缓存器136中不会发生数据下溢状态。
缓存器106和缓存器136和各个先进先出(FIFO)存储器108和138相连。两个FIFO缓存器108和138的存取(读写)处理由一个时钟发生器122控制。时钟发生器122产生由参考时钟发生器124产生的时钟信号导出的时钟信号。所述时钟信号由时钟发生器122提供给每个FIFO缓存器108和138。由参考时钟发生器124产生的时钟信号被锁定于主频道定时信号。
FIFO 108和主频道帧转换器110相连。FIFO 138和次频道帧转换器140相连。由时钟发生器122产生的时钟信号也和主次频道帧转换器110和140相连。因为输入视频信号的格式是任意的,必须确定输入的视频信号是场图像还是帧图像。如果所述图像是帧图像,所述图像的处理直到所述帧图像的至少一半加上所述图像的一个宏块行被译码并可在FIFO 108或138中得到时才开始。在帧图像的下半部分被译码时,在图像的上半部分可以开始格式转换。不管在视频1和视频2译码之间的交错顺序,也不管所选择所译码速率,图像的下半部分的最后一行在由格式转换器110和140使用时必须完成译码。为了在每种情况下保证这种状态,可能需要在开始格式转换之前使帧图像的一半以上加上一个宏块行被译码并被存储在存储器中。格式转换器110和140由水平和垂直采样速率转换器构成,也称为数字滤波器。每个转换器110和140的输出和各自的FIFO存储器112,142相连。这些FIFO 112、142的每一个用于缓冲视频帧,以便确保所述帧和显示的定时信号同步。对于FIFO 112、142的存取由来自参考时钟发生器124的时钟信号控制。

利用由通过开关134传递的参考时钟发生器124产生的时钟信号从FIFO142产生PIP图像。PIP图像被耦联到图形发生器116,用于在主图像内进行显示。
当要记录次频道视频信号时,次频道时钟发生器126产生用于次频道信号定时的时钟信号。所述发生器126使用来自参考时钟发生器124的参考时钟信号作为参考信号,用于导出次频道时钟信号,因为记录输出使用NTSC定时,而在某些情况下主输出使用ATSC(HDTV)定时。从参考时钟导出次频道时钟使得可以取消次频道时钟恢复电路。在一个小的允差范围内,第一时钟和第二时钟具有81MHz,13.5MHz,80.919MHz,或13.5135MHz的频率。这些频率通过都是6的倍数和/或是1000/1001的倍数而彼此相关。通过利用这些倍数的一个或两个提供按比例改变恢复的第一频道时钟的能力,可以在2X第一频道参考时钟的允差内导出次频道时钟。如果需要,次频道时钟的精度可以通过监视译码的视频缓存器电平被进一步细化。次频道时钟通过开关134被耦联到FIFO 142,并被耦联到数字编码器146,即NTSC编码器,用于把数字电视信号转换成标准的模拟NTSC信号进行记录。当在记录方式下时,开关134把来自FIFO 142的输出的视频帧和数字编码器146耦联。
为了便于数字编码,需要确定视频信号的垂直同步的参数。用于可利用的次频道信号的参数被存储在垂直参数存储器154中。这些参数通过次频道编码器控制器132和数字编码器146耦联。所述控制器产生适合于正在被处理的次频道信号的类型的垂直启动(Vstart-up)信号。Vmain和Vinternal通过开关130和数字编码器146耦联。如果数字编码器146选择主频道视频,则使用Vmain,如果数字编码器146选择PIP频道,则使用Vinternal。一旦数字编码器146收到垂直启动信号,数字编码器146便产生内部产生的垂直同步信号。
在记录方式下,装置100使用两个时钟信号:一个用于产生主图像,一个用于产生可记录信号。在这种方式下,可记录信号的视频帧被耦联到图形发生器,使得所述的帧被捕获,以便作为PIP图像进行显示。不过,因为用于产生可记录信号的定时对于产生主图像是不正确的,所以主帧和PIP帧不同步。因而,PIP图像被合适地重复或减少,以便实现PIP图像。不过在PIP图像中减少或重复帧一般是不为观看者所察觉的。
因为只有一个参考时钟发生器,根据译码的视频产生参考时钟的电压控制的晶体振荡器(VCXO),次频道时钟基于所述参考时钟。不过,由次频道时钟发生器产生的时钟信号根据正在接收的次频道信号的类型而改变。在输送层处理期间参考时钟被恢复,并基于27MHz的参考时钟。从恢复的27MHz的参考时钟导出每个可能的光栅定时时钟。
图3是由主频道参考时钟发生器和次频道参考时钟发生器产生的用于帮助不同类型的视频信号格式译码的不同时钟频率的表。
本发明的装置创造性地使用次频道处理电路产生可记录的信号和PIP图像。此外,若干个译码电路和定时电路由主次频道处理电路共用。此外,公共存储空间可用于PIP和可记录信号帧缓存器。因而,次频道,主频道,和图形信号可以共用一个公共存储集成电路。这种译码器装置的结构具有好的成本效果比。

Claims (12)

1.一种用于同时记录和观看多个视频信号的方法,包括以下步骤:
(a)使用第一时钟参考信号对第一视频信号译码;
(b)当所述第一和第二视频信号要作为主图像和画中画(PIP)图像被显示时,使用所述第一时钟信号对第二视频信号译码;
(c)当所述第一视频信号要被显示,所述第二视频信号要被记录时,使用第二时钟信号对所述第二视频信号译码。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述步骤(c)还包括显示所述第二时钟信号,同时记录作为PIP图像的所述第二视频信号。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述译码步骤(a),(b)和(c)利用编码的视频译码器管道执行。
4.如权利要求3所述的方法,其中所述编码的视频译码器管道译码运动图像专家组(MPEG)编码的视频信号。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述第二时钟信号从第一时钟参考信号导出。
6.一种用于记录和显示多个视频信号的装置,包括:
编码的视频译码器管道,用于译码所述多个视频信号;
主频道处理电路,其和所述编码的视频译码器管道相连,用于产生用于显示的主图像;
次频道处理电路,其和所述编码的视频译码器管道相连,用于产生用于记录和用于PIP显示的译码的视频信号。
7.如权利要求6所述的装置,还包括:
和所述主频道处理电路以及所述次频道处理电路相连的参考时钟发生器;以及
和所述次频道处理电路相连的次频道时钟发生器。
8.如权利要求7所述的装置,其中所述次频道时钟发生器从由所述参考时钟发生器产生的参考时钟信号导出次频道时钟信号。
9.如权利要求6所述的装置,其中所述次频道处理电路包括用于产生用于记录的模拟信号的数字编码器。
10.如权利要求9所述的装置,其中所述数字编码器产生内部垂直同步信号。
