Abstract
Description
本发明涉及烷基环己烯甲酸异戊基苯酸酯这一类新型光活性化合物的合成及含有这一类化合物的热色液晶混合物的制备。
热色液晶材料是一类选择性反射自然光的部分颜色光的波长而呈现各种彩虹色的物质。当环境温度改变时它所反射光的波长改变,因而呈现的颜色也随之改变。这样的材料在温度测量装置、无损探测、防伪商标及装饰品等方面都具有广泛的用途。
具有手性螺旋排列的结构向列相和胆甾相的液晶材料才能呈现热色效应,由于液晶材料的螺距与光的波长有一定的对应关系,因而能发生布拉格式的反射。当温度改变时,液晶的螺距和反射的颜色随之改变。一般地说,强烈的热色效应发生在手性向列相区域。本发明所涉及的烷基环己烯甲酸异戊基苯酸酯这一类新型光活性化合物,及含有这一类化合物的热色液晶混合物的制备。将在热色液晶的感温显色方面体现出独特的效果。
大量的热色液晶材料在UK Patantg 1556994 1592161 1596012 1596013等专利。以上这类物质的制备均较复杂且价格昂贵。本发明在于提供一种简单的合成方法,制备一类价格便宜,折射率小,各向异性大的,具有良好的低温效应的新物质,并制备一些含有这类物质的热色液晶混合物。
这类化合物具有优良的光和化学稳定性,可广泛应用于各种热色液晶混合物。
本发明涉及的另一部分内容是将上述化合物与其它液晶材料混合,得到具有一定手性向列相范围的热色液晶材料,其向列相的温度范围大小,温度的高低,且螺距随温度的变化率大小均可通过液晶的调节来实现。即可调节液晶混合物中液晶单体的种类,以及各液晶单体的重量百分比的高低,以实现热色液晶混合物的变色温度高低,变色温度范围的大小和变色的敏锐程度。
本发明是将烷基环己烯甲酸异戊酯苯酚酯的光活性化合物与下列物质有机混合得到具有手性向列相的热色液晶材料。
本发明的第一个任务是合成一种手性液晶化合物:基环己烯甲酸异戊基苯酸酯;其方法如下:将烷基环己烯甲酸与氯化亚砜反应制备烷基环己烯基甲酰氯,然后再与光活性异戊基酚酯进行酯化反应最后得到烷基环己烯甲酸异戊基苯酸酯光活性液晶化合物。该方法的合成简图为:
下面通过实施例详尽阐述本发明的实施方法。
实施例1将14g(0.1mol)4-甲基环己烯-3-甲酸,23.8g(0.2mol)二氯亚砜和100ml苯混合于250ml三口瓶中,加热回流2.5小时,蒸除溶剂苯和二氯亚砜,减压蒸馏,收集85~87℃/2mmHg馏分,得到浅黄色4-甲基环己烯-3-甲酰氯16g,收率为92%。将4-甲基环己烯-3-甲酰氯和15g(0.092)4-异戊基苯酚,5ml吡啶和25ml苯混合回流3小时,冷却,用50~60℃热水6x30ml洗涤6次,蒸除苯,残留物减压蒸馏,收集117~120℃/1mmHg馏分。得到浅黄色液体19g,收率72%。得到4-甲基环己烯-3-甲酸左旋异戊基苯酚酯。
实施例2热色液晶混合物的调配(均为重量百分比):
将4-甲基环己烯-3-甲酸左旋异戊基苯酚酯30%,A 20%,B 5%,C 23%,D 7%,E 15%均匀混合;混合物的温度变化范围在5~15℃,依次出现红、黄、绿、兰绿、兰色等彩虹色变化。20.5℃为各向同性液体〔清亮点〕。
实施例3将4-甲基环己烯-3-甲酸左旋异戊基苯酚酯18%,A 12%,B 15%,C 30%,D 10%,E 15%均匀混合;混合物的温度变化范围在37~41℃,依次出现红、黄、绿、兰绿、兰色等彩虹色变化。43.5℃为各向同性液体〔清亮点〕。
