Abstract

本发明涉及到小型无线电装置的平面天线结构。在一个倒F形天线或是称为PIFA(200)的辐射元件(210)外表面的平面上布置一层介电常数比较高的介电材料(230)。该层的位置至少覆盖着在天线谐振时电场最强的区域。对于双频带天线,要加宽辐射元件中的缝隙(215),这有利于减小元件的分支(A1,A2)之间的耦合效应。按照本发明的天线可以制成较小的尺寸,而它的电气特性至少与对应的现有技术的天线一样好。或者是能够明显地改善天线的电气特性,而无需加大天线的尺寸。

Description

平面天线结构
本发明涉及到诸如移动电话等小型无线电装置中的一种内置平面天线结构。
便携式无线电装置非常希望将天线放置在装置盖子的内部,因为突出的天线很不方便。例如在新式的移动电台中,内部天线必须具有很小的尺寸。随着移动电台越来越小,这一要求就需要进一步增强。另外,在双频带天线中,上工作频带至少应该比较宽,特别是当这种装置需要在采用1.7-2GHz频带的一个以上系统中工作的情况下。
对于实际应用的小尺寸天线,最普遍的解决方案是采用PIFA(平面倒F形天线)结构。PIFA的辐射元件可以构成一个连续的平面,制成一个工作频带的天线。辐射元件还可以有一个缝隙,从馈点上看它将元件划分成两个分支,这样就能制成有两个工作频带的天线。后一种结构更加具有吸引力,因为在两个系统中使用不同频带工作的移动电台已经日益普及了。这种双频带结构还可以为本发明提供一个合适的框架。
图1表示一例现有技术的双频带PIFA。从图中可见,该装置的框架120被画成水平的,它起到天线接地面的作用。在这一接地面上面是一个被诸如绝缘件105支撑着的平面辐射元件110。在辐射元件和接地面之间有一个短路件102。在点F上通过接地面中的一个孔103向辐射元件110馈电。在辐射元件110中有一个缝隙115,它从元件的边缘开始拐过两个直角弯之后延伸到馈点F附近。从馈点F上看,该缝隙将辐射元件划分成具有不同长度的两个分支A1和A2。在本例中,较长的分支A1构成辐射元件边缘区域的主要部分,其谐振频率落在天线的低工作频带上。较短的分支A2构成辐射元件的中间区域,其谐振频率落在天线的高工作频带上。
在图1所示的结构中,辐射元件的分支之间的缝隙比较窄,因而在分支之间存在明显的电磁耦合。结果,分支的电路长度大于其机械长度。随之带来的优点是在给定频带中工作的天线比没有这种电磁耦合的相应的天线要小。然而,耦合带来的缺点是天线的电气特性会受到影响:例如带宽会变小,而损失会变大。因此,如果辐射元件的缝隙较宽,天线的电气特性就会得到改善,但是天线必须被做得比较大。众所周知,通过增大辐射元件和接地面之间的距离可以展宽频带,但是这种结构也具有使天线变大的缺点。
本发明的目的是减少现有技术所面临的上述缺点。在独立权利要求1中表达了按照本发明结构的特征。其他从属权利要求体现了本发明的一些优选实施例。
本发明的基本原理如下:将介电常数比较高的一层介质材料布置在PIFA的辐射元件的外表面的平面外侧。这一层的位置至少覆盖住在天线谐振时电场最强的区域。对于双频带天线的情况,最好将辐射元件的缝隙制成这样的宽度,即减小元件分支之间的耦合效应。
增加介电材料具有的公知作用是天线的谐振频率或频率下移,因此,为了保持给定的谐振频率,必须缩小谐振元件的尺寸。另一方面,在有利的位置增加介电材料还具有在比较宽的频率范围内保持天线阻抗接近其额定值的作用,这就意味着带宽较大。其原因是在辐射元件和接地面之间的空隙外部流动的杂散通量通过一个比较宽广的路程。如上所述,展宽辐射元件的缝隙可以改善辐射元件的电气特性,但是,如果需要保持在指定的谐振频率,另一方面还必须将天线增大。
在辐射元件“顶上”增加介电材料并且将元件的缝隙加宽,只要将两者适当地组合就能制成比较小的天线,并且其电气特性至少与相应的现有技术的天线一样好。或者是能够显著地改善天线的电气特性,而无需增大天线的尺寸。在后一种情况下,增加介电材料和展宽辐射元件缝隙对天线尺寸的影响被相互抵销了。当然,按照本发明的结构也可以采取上述两种情况之间的折衷。另外,本发明的结构还具有简单并且造价低的优点。
以下要具体解释本发明。在说明书中参考的附图有:
图1表示按照现有技术的一例PIFA,

图5用曲线表示了通过本发明所获得的优点,以及

上文在关于现有技术的说明中已经讨论过图1。
图2表示按照本发明的一例天线结构。天线200的基本方案与图1相同。它包括一个辐射元件210,接地面220,以及介于二者之间的一个短路件202。天线馈线的内部导体通过接地面中的一个孔203在点F处连接到辐射面210上,图中的例子是处在辐射元件的前缘附近。如图所示,在辐射元件210中有一个缝隙215,从元件的左侧边缘开始一直延伸到馈点F附近。在图1中,从馈点F上看,辐射元件的缝隙将元件划分成两个分支A1和A2。分支A1比分支A2长。与图1的不同之处在于本发明的缝隙明显增大了。分支A1和A2相隔的距离使各分支之间的耦合比图1的结构明显地减弱了。
本发明与公知结构的最主要区别在于辐射元件210的外表面上的介电板230。此处和权利要求书中所述的辐射元件的“外表面”是指与辐射元件面对着接地面的那个表面相对的表面。在图2所示的例子中,介电板230是实体的,从馈点F上看,它覆盖着分支A1和A2较远的端部。介电材料在这些区域上对天线的杂散通量的作用最大,这是因为,当元件的一个分支发生谐振时,在这一分支远端的电场最强,而此处的杂散通量也是最大的。在图2的例子中,介电板230额外覆盖了分支A1和A2之间的大部分区域215。
此处将介电层称作覆盖层。例如可以用陶瓷或塑胶构成这种“覆盖层”。覆盖层的介电常数越大,其杂散通量定向效应就越大。当然,相对介电常数εr必须大于1;最好是大于10。然而,在系数εr的值增大时,由覆盖层造成的损失在某一点上反而会变高。系数εr的最佳值需根据情况而定;例如可以是40-50。
图3表示从装置的框架侧上方看到的图2的结构。图中表示了接地面220。从图中可以看到在辐射元件的分支A1和A2端部之间有一个用阴影表示的空隙215。在辐射元件的顶上有一个覆盖层230,它部分地覆盖了分支A1和A2以及二者之间的整个开口部位。另外,图3还表示了辐射元件的馈电导体201,短路件202和一个支撑件206。
图4表示本发明的几个实施例。左上方附图(a)表示从接地面一侧看到的图2的结构。在辐射元件410的外表面上有一个与图2和3中的层230一样的覆盖层S。覆盖层S具有一定的介电常数ε。附图(b)表示的结构与附图(a)大体上相同,只不过覆盖层包括两个部分。覆盖层S1覆盖辐射元件的分支A1的端部,而覆盖层S2覆盖辐射元件的分支A2的端部。在附图(c)中表示了两个象附图(b)一样的覆盖层S1和S2,但它们的不同之处是具有不同的介电常数ε。前者的介电常数是ε1,后者是ε2。另外,分支A1被具有一定介电常数ε3的第三个独立的覆盖层S3进一步覆盖。附图(d)表示一种惯用的窄缝隙辐射元件,在其上面有一个按照本发明的比较大的覆盖层Sd。按照附图(d)的结构有利于天线进一步小型化。附图(e)表示一种惯用的单频带辐射器,按照本发明,在元件顶上相对于馈点F的另一端有一个覆盖层Se。这种天线不但具有带宽上的优势,还具有尺寸上的优点。
图5是用天线的带宽B作为天线体积V的函数来表示的原理曲线。曲线51代表现有技术,而曲线52代表本发明。二者都是上升的曲线,但是代表本发明的曲线在代表现有技术的曲线上方。图中所示的点P对应着现有技术的天线。如果将本发明用于这种天线,就可以从点P起在不同的方向上移动。如果在垂直方向上移动到曲线52,其不同之处体现为带宽的增量ΔB。如果在水平方向上移动到曲线52,其不同之处体现为体积的减量ΔV。还可以绘制出与图5的曲线相对应的曲线,例如天线的效率曲线。在这种情况下,代表本发明天线的曲线仍然是处在代表现有技术天线的曲线上方。
图6表示一个移动电台600。它具有一个按照本发明的天线200,图中所示的例子是天线完全被装在移动电台的盖子内部。
上文中说明了按照本发明的天线结构及其一些变更。本发明并非仅限于所说的辐射元件的结构和覆盖层的位置。另外,本发明也不仅限于平面天线及其制造方法的其他结构性技术方案。在独立权利要求1的范围内可以采取多种途径来应用本发明的原理。

Claims (7)

1.一种天线结构,包括一个平面辐射元件和接地面,其特征在于在辐射元件(210)的外表面的平面外侧有一层介电材料(230)。
2.按照权利要求1的结构,其特征是辐射元件具有一个延伸到其边缘的缝隙,从天线的馈点(F)上看,上述缝隙将辐射元件划分成两个分支(A1,A2),从而提供两个独立的工作频带,其中上述缝隙的面积大于辐射元件面积的十分之一。
3.按照权利要求2的结构,其特征在于,从上述馈点上看,上述介电层至少是部分覆盖上述分支的最远端区域。
4.按照权利要求1的结构,其特征在于上述介电层包括至少两个独立部分(S1,S2)。
5.按照权利要求4的结构,其特征在于属于上述介电层的至少两部分具有不同的介电常数(ε1,ε2)。
6.按照权利要求1的结构,其特征在于上述介电材料的介电常数大于10。
7.一种无线电装置(600),包括一个天线(200),天线中包括一个辐射面和接地面,其特征在于上述辐射元件的外表面的平面外侧有一层介电材料。
