众所周知，防止龋齿或牙龈疾病的最佳方法是每餐或进食之后彻底地刷牙。在发达国家人人至少都有一个牙刷。但是，龋齿和牙龈疾病仍很普遍，原因是进食后没有清洁或刷牙，或者是牙刷使用不当。因为大多数牙刷在刷牙时不会发光或者照亮牙齿或口腔的内部，牙刷的使用者看不到牙刷能够除去的留在口腔中的食物。而且，小孩不喜欢刷牙的麻烦。
                        背景技术
已有技术公开了多种牙刷，它们具有形成硬毛的光导纤维，硬毛被牙刷手柄中的一光源对着硬毛一端发出的光照亮。但是，这必须增大手柄和刷头的尺寸，以容纳大量的光导纤维。而且，光导纤维具有一最小可弯曲的半径，这就导致牙刷要有增大的硬毛支承头部，以适应纤维的弯曲。
1998年10月18日授权给卡尔等人的美国专利第4,779,173号涉及发光式刷子装置，其特点是一牙刷具有光导纤维，光导纤维纵向延伸通过刷子的手柄部，并且在刷子头部向上延伸以形成刷牙的硬毛。手柄沿轴向连接闪光灯的灯泡端部，以照亮邻近灯泡的光导纤维的端部，且将光线传输至纤维硬毛的另一端，以形成发光式刷子头。
1991年7月9日授权给梅德等人的美国专利第5,030,090号涉及光导牙刷及其使用方法，1992年11月3日授权给费尔德曼等人的美国专利第5,160,194号涉及带有外部发光硬毛的牙刷，这些是进一步展现出本领域技术状态的专利的例子。
在梅德等人的专利中，通过照亮透光纤维的一个端部来照亮纤维的相对端部，且通过一个光源来照亮病人口腔的内部。

                  实施本发明的最佳方式

在附图中：
标号10指示一个发光式牙刷，它包括一改进的牙刷体12，牙刷体12在一端轴向连接了一光源，例如一闪光灯14。牙刷体12是由透明的光导塑料形成的传统结构，它具有一个头部16，头部16在一端一体地轴向连接了一个手柄部18，手柄部18具有从相对头部16的一端向内延伸的一中心槽19。如现已详尽描述的那样，头部16设置有多排的刷体硬毛簇20。
闪光灯14与传统结构类似，它具有在一端24处封闭的电池盒22，盒内容纳了多个干电池26，但只图示了一个。电池盒22相对其封闭端的端部被一个帽罩28闭合，帽罩28轴向地支承了透明的光导塑料杆或轴装置30，该杆或轴30被牙刷手柄槽19协配地接纳。该轴壁表面上设置有一个缺口32，该缺口32协配地与从形成槽19的内壁表面突出的一个凸块34相啮合，以使牙刷12与闪光灯14保持连接。牙刷手柄18在标号35处从其相对头部16的端部处起纵向开有切口或狭缝，以使槽区域中的相对部分可侧向折弯，以接纳轴30。
闪光灯14具有一反光镜36，反光镜36在中心支承了一灯泡38，灯泡38设置在轴30一端的邻近处，其基部接触电池26的正极，且通过一开关40使一接线端42接触一导电板44而供电，从而以照亮簇20的硬毛。
硬毛簇20较佳地用选定长度且具有一致直径的自然色彩尼龙细丝45来形成，该细丝具有经精加工提高的簇(finish enhancing tuft)效率，且符合美国食品和药物机构的规章，目前由杜邦公司以TYNEX商标进行销售。其中一个牙刷簇20的多个细丝45及在牙刷的制造过程中，细丝45以大体U形的形状(图4)折返一次，所以它们的各个端部距其弯曲部46是基本相等的距离，且在其各个端部呈现出半球形的表面48，这在刷牙过程中是较佳的，可使对牙龈的伤害减小到最小。在将硬毛簇嵌入头部16之前，在牙刷16的制造过程中，细丝45的弯曲部46具有修整的“皮肤”或粗糙的表面，这可通过砂纸或砂磨来得到，如细丝弯曲部46上的小点所示(图4)，这使得光可以进入各个簇20中的单个线或细丝45。灯发出的光通过轴装置30、透明的塑料牙刷手柄18及其头部16传输，且通过弯曲部进入到各个簇的单个细丝45中，并在细丝45的端面48处发光。
                               工业实用性
相信发光牙刷硬毛的使用将会大大减少龋齿和牙龈疾病的发生。

Claims (2)

1.一种发光式牙刷(10)，它包括：具有一主体(12)的一牙刷(10)，主体(12)具有一头部(16)和一手柄部(18)，所述手柄部(18)在其相对头部(16)的端部具有一沿轴向纵向延伸的槽(19)，多排牙刷硬毛簇(20)从所述头部(16)协同地侧向突出，所述每一簇(20)包括多个一致长度和直径的塑料细丝(45)，并具有大体在其端部中间设置了光线通入区域(46)的外表面，所述塑料细丝(45)折返一次且嵌入在所述头部(16)中；具有一灯泡(38)和一反光镜(36)的发光装置，一个帽罩(28)遮蔽了所述灯泡(38)，导光轴装置轴向地连接在带有所述帽罩(28)的一个端部，以接纳所述灯泡(38)发出的光线，且其另一端设置在所述手柄槽(19)中；以及具有一电源(26)的供能装置，以给所述灯泡(38)供能，由此光通过所述轴装置(30)和所述牙刷体(12)被传输到所述牙刷硬毛簇(20)中，以照亮各个塑料细丝(45)的端部。
2.如权利要求1所述的牙刷，其特征在于，该供能装置具有轴向连接在所述帽罩(28)上的一盒体(22)、位于所述盒体中的一电池(26)以及具有将所述电池(26)连接在所述灯泡(38)上的一开关(40)的一电路。
