技术领域
本发明涉及一种对大量用户提供对数字多媒体文件集合(collection)访问的方法。
背景技术
术语“数字多媒体文件”意指任一数字化的文件,例如可以是视频、图形动画、照片、音频、音乐、文本、电子游戏类型或者是这些多媒体项目的任一其它合成物的计算机文档,尤其是通过因特网直接或间接可访问的任一类型的因特网站点的计算机文档。
传统上通过所谓的点对点(point-to-point)装置来执行在要求时通常提供的对数字多媒体文件选集(selection)的访问,尤其是对视频文件或者因特网站点的访问。这些访问因此要求在每个访问终端与计算机服务器中心之间的高速率计算机连接,其中计算机服务器中心在所存储的存储器中具有数字格式化的多媒体文件。这些计算机连接必须提供最小每秒300,000(三十万)个字符的传输速率,以用于访问电视质量的视频文件。这些连接可以是诸如电缆、卫星或者一般的无线电连接的基于地面的连接。但是,计算机连接必须与终端一样多。根据这个方案,并且在用于按要求访问用于公共大众的多媒体文件的装置的构架内,高速率计算机连接被要求与允许同时传输这些大量数字文档的访问终端一样多。高速率计算机连接的成本十分高,并且这类配制假设该成本乘以终端的数量,从而使得这类按要求的访问现今用于实际应用时在经济上出现更高的成本。而且,多媒体文件服务器随后应当同时发送至少等于被连接的终端数量的确定数量的文档。在用于公共大众的项目构架中,这可能要超过几十万的终端。当前没有计算机服务器能够提供所需的传输速率,即应当大于每秒三百亿个字符。
国际公开第WO 98/03016公开了一种向用户档案广播特定数据的方法,其中数据集合通过用于电视类型的单向传输装置(例如,卫星或电缆传输)以数字形式进行传输。这些例如与因特网网页有关的数据集合根据用户的喜好被存储在用户存储单元中。因此用户随后可以观看已经根据他的/她的用户档案收集的不同的因特网网页。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于,提供一种用于允许大量用户访问数字多媒体文件集合的方法,并且该方法从唯一的服务器中心进行,并无需倍增计算机连接。
为了实现上述目的,本发明提供一种用于允许大量用户访问数字多媒体文件集合的方法,包含:在给定的地理区域上对所述数字多媒体文件集合进行卫星传输;由所有出现在所述给定的地理区域上的用户通过接收器终端同时接收经由卫星传输的所述多媒体文件集合;以及将由所述终端接收到的数字多媒体文件存储在与每个所述终端相关的存储单元中以用于后续访问,其特征在于:需要数字授权文档以用于访问所述集合的数字多媒体文件;接收器终端的识别用户选择已经存储在所述存储单元中的期望的数字多媒体文件,并向文件服务器中心传送对所述期望的多媒体文件的访问权的请求;在验证所述识别用户对访问权的所述请求后,所述文件服务器中心产生所述期望的多媒体文件的数字授权文档,并将所述授权文档传送到所述识别用户的接收器终端;并且所述数字授权文档使所述识别用户的所述接收器终端显示或播放已经存储在与所述接收器终端相关的所述存储单元中的所述期望的数字多媒体文件。
在本发明中,将预设的用户兴趣档案与所述接收器终端相关联;以及根据所述预设的用户兴趣档案,以可选的方式来存储数字多媒体文件以用于后续访问,所述数字多媒体文件集合中与所述预设的兴趣档案不匹配的数字多媒体文件不被存储在所述存储单元内。
在本发明中,存储在所述存储单元中的所述数字多媒体文件根据它们的优先顺序被自动删除,以便为存储所述集合的其它数字多媒体文件留出存储空间。
在本发明中,用户为被存储的数字多媒体文件定义的删除标准。
在本发明中,通过用户与所述文件服务器中心之间的点对点连接来执行对所述期望的多媒体文件的访问权的请求。
在本发明中,几个数字多媒体文件通过卫星被同时传输,并且与它们的传输速率有关的优先等级被指配给这些文件。

具体实施方式
图1描述了根据本发明的方法的第一步的机制。该步骤对应于向专用的接收器终端8发送文件。

如果在终端8的存储单元9中剩余的存储空间不再充足,则存储的文档根据它们的优先顺序逐渐被自动删除,以便为存储新接收的文档留出空间。然而,将要被理解的是,用户具有将被存储的文档标记为不可删除的可能性。

Claims (6)

1.一种用于允许大量用户访问数字多媒体文件集合的方法,包含:
在给定的地理区域上对所述数字多媒体文件集合进行卫星传输;
由所有出现在所述给定的地理区域上的用户通过接收器终端同时接收经由卫星传输的所述多媒体文件集合;以及
将由所述终端接收到的数字多媒体文件存储在与每个所述终端相关的存储单元中以用于后续访问,
其特征在于:
需要数字授权文档以用于访问所述集合的数字多媒体文件;
具有接收器终端的识别用户选择已经存储在所述存储单元中的期望的数字多媒体文件,并向文件服务器中心传送对所述期望的数字多媒体文件的访问权的请求;
在验证所述识别用户对访问权的所述请求后,所述文件服务器中心产生所述期望的数字多媒体文件的数字授权文档,并将所述数字授权文档传送到所述识别用户的接收器终端;并且
所述数字授权文档使所述识别用户的所述接收器终端显示或播放已经存储在与所述接收器终端相关的所述存储单元中的所述期望的数字多媒体文件。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于:
将预设的用户兴趣档案与所述接收器终端相关联;以及
根据所述预设的用户兴趣档案,以可选的方式来存储数字多媒体文件以用于后续访问,所述数字多媒体文件集合中与所述预设的用户兴趣档案不匹配的数字多媒体文件不被存储在所述存储单元内。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,存储在所述存储单元中的所述数字多媒体文件根据它们的优先顺序被自动删除,以便为存储所述集合的其它数字多媒体文件留出存储空间。
4.如权利要求1至3中任一项所述的方法,其特征在于,用户为被存储的数字多媒体文件定义删除标准。
5.如权利要求1至3中任一项所述的方法,其特征在于,通过用户与所述文件服务器中心之间的点对点连接来执行对所述期望的数字多媒体文件的访问权的请求。
