Abstract

本发明为一种平面显示器。显示元件可以采用多种显示材料,如电致发光和电致显色材料。可以方便地制成大屏幕显示器。显示元件是将显示材料制成夹层的带状结构,5为透明导电膜,6为显示材料,7为带横向缝隙的背向导电层。带状显示元件2和辅助导电带3,绝缘带1,4编织或平铺排列成显示平面。

Description

本发明涉及一种平面显示器。
平面显示器可分为液晶显示器,等离子显示器,电致发光显示器和电致变色显示器。由于厚度薄,体积小,重量轻而成为国内外厂商开发的重点。但目前由于各种平面显示产品的结构都以基板为基础,在基板上用涂布,蒸发工艺和刻蚀或印刷工艺形成发光单元阵列(象素),各单元由纵横排列的平行导线驱动。受蒸发和涂布工艺的限制,尺寸难以做大。
例如电致发光显示器是在玻璃基板上一层层蒸镀或涂布成膜,再用刻蚀的方法加工出电极和发光单元。显示器的尺寸受到基板大小和涂布工艺的限制。
本发明的目的是要寻求一种生产大屏幕显示器的简单方法,降低生产成本。
本发明是将显示材料制成图(1)图(2)图(3)所示的带状显示元件加上必要的辅助导电和绝缘线,用编织的方法使经向和纬向的元件之间互相交织在一起,当编织困难时也可以采用平铺的结构,由编织或平铺排列的条状显示元件组成显示平面。
显示器的带状显示元件结构如图(3)示为夹层结构的扁平带。图(2)中1为导电层的横向绝缘缝隙,图(2)中2为透明导电膜,3为发光或显色材料,4为有横向缝隙的背面导电层。当透明导电膜接地,背面导电层接驱动电压时,图(2)所示背面导电层的横向缝隙保证了显示只在背面导电层通电的区域。
带状编织工艺蒸发或涂布只需在窄的带状材料上进行,而且可以连续加工。由于编织工艺的故有特性可以使编织连续进行。通过生产长幅的显示元件达到生产大屏幕显示器的目的。
这种显示器可采用多种发光元件,如电致发光元件和电致变色元件。由于发光元件为分离的带状元件故在没有合适的窄光谱发光元件时可通过在白色带状发光元件外加滤色膜实现彩色显示。
图(4)为编织结构的一种实现。2为条状显示元件,3为导电带,1和4为绝缘线。三者通过编织组合在一起。其中经向为间隔排列的条状显示元件和绝缘线,纬向为间隔排列的导电带和绝缘线。驱动电路分别接条状显示元件和导电带。导电带同条状显示元件背面导电层之间形成欧姆接触,间隔排列的绝缘线保证导电带之间的绝缘和条状显示元件之间的绝缘。调整导电带,条状显示元件和绝缘线三者之间的宽度比例可以调整条状显示元件的利用效率,当显示元件受到周围的电磁场影响时,利用中间包有导线的绝缘线编织在发光元件的周围形成屏蔽,控制电磁场的影响。
图(5)为编织结构的另外一种实现。图(6)中1为带状显示元件,2为导电带。这种编织方式使得发光元件交错排列。比较上例所示方法省略了绝缘线,但是导电带应为一面导电另一面绝缘,图(6)A-A部视图显示了其横截面的结构,为了保证带状显示元件之间及导电带之间的绝缘要控制元件的宽度和厚度及编织时的密度。
图(7)为平铺排列结构的一种实现。1为带状显示元件,2为导电带。当显示材料较硬,制成的带状显示元件不易编织时,采用这种结构较易实现。导电带同带状显示元件之间可以采用粘接或焊接保持两者之间的导通。

Claims (6)

1.一种平面显示器,显示元件是通过经向和纬向两组相互垂直的平行导线驱动,其特征是采用带状显示元件和辅助导电带,绝缘线编织或平铺组成显示器平面。
2.按照权利要求1所述平面显示器,其特征是带状显示元件,辅助导电带和绝缘线三者之间编织形成显示平面。
3.按照权利要求1所述平面显示器,其特征是带状显示元件与辅助导电带平铺排列形成显示平面。
4.按照权利要求1所述平面显示器,其特征是利用编织结构保证元件之间的距离和绝缘。
5.按照权利要求1所述平面显示器,其特征是在编织结构中加入金属屏蔽线,改变元件周围的电磁场分布。
6.按照权利要求1所述平面显示器所用的由透明导电膜,电致发光或电致变色材料,背面导电层组成的显示元件,其特征是夹层的带状结构其背面导电层有横向缝隙。
