For display devices such as televisions, multimedia content may include movies, television shows, and shows, to which embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited in particular. The user can select various types of multimedia contents in the display device for watching, thereby achieving the purpose of entertainment and leisure.

After the data of the showing hall is obtained by the searching database, the server firstly filters the data of the showing hall, and then obtains more comprehensive data corresponding to the filtered data of the showing hall, so that the searching database does not need to store and display the total data required by one showing hall, the searching efficiency of the searching database can be ensured, and the response speed of the searching of the showing hall is further ensured.
In summary, the present disclosure implements the above-mentioned channel recommendation method through interaction between the display device and the server, where the controller of the display device first receives a channel recommendation operation input by a user, generates a channel recommendation request including request parameter information in response to the channel recommendation operation, and then sends the channel recommendation request to the server; after receiving the channel recommendation request, the server acquires a live channel list, a recommended channel list and multimedia content information corresponding to each recommended channel in the recommended channel list based on request parameter information contained in the channel recommendation request, wherein the live channel list comprises the recommended channel list, and transmits the live channel list, the recommended channel list and the multimedia content information to the display equipment; and finally, after the display equipment receives the multimedia content information, controlling the display to display the multimedia content information at different positions based on the current display interface of the display. Through the interaction process between the display equipment and the server, the determined recommended channels are related to the request parameter information of the user, the requirements of the user are met, and the user can quickly select favorite channels by displaying the multimedia content information corresponding to the recommended channels at different positions of the current display interface, so that the use experience of the user is improved, and the functions of the display equipment are expanded.
