The present application is a divisional application of application number 201910155891.0, entitled "timepiece or jewel case", having an application date of 2019, 3/1.

Technical Field

The invention relates to a timepiece or jewelry box arranged to travel in a single hand operation, comprising a closable case and arranged to contain at least one holder for receiving at least one timepiece or jewelry between at least one tray and a cover, the case comprising a base, the cover cooperating with the base to close the box.

The present invention relates to the field of devices for protecting and transporting watches or jewelry.

Background

The protection and transport of watches or jewelry requires suitable packaging in order to protect these objects, which are often very expensive. Such packages are susceptible to high dynamic stresses, particularly during travel or transport, where spatial position changes occur as well as high velocity and acceleration gradients.

Lined boxes that fit the exact dimensions of the object may provide adequate protection when they are new. However, fillers, in particular plastic foams, are prone to aging and deteriorate over time, thus no longer providing optimal stability. Furthermore, these boxes are intended for objects of a specific shape and size and are therefore not versatile, which is not practical when travelling and carrying several watches or jewelry, and the user does not want all his luggage space to be filled with various different boxes, and these boxes often have large external dimensions.

Spanish patent No.1041455U in the name of YGC comonicion discloses a case for a wristwatch having a functional combination of a base and a cover, one of which includes a hollow compartment for receiving a wristwatch, allowing the wristwatch to be received and viewed.

French patent application No.2293757A in the name of YEMA discloses a device for displaying an object such as jewelry or a watch, comprising a holding rack capable of receiving the displayed object, the rack being formed from at least one block of molded material containing a hollow imprint of the object, the object thus being capable of being placed and locked in place on said rack, the object being connected to said rack by friction only, whereby the visible face of the object is visible and displayed above the rack. The stand has a back or support surface on the opposite side of the print receiving the displayed object, the support surface being provided with means for securing it to a support surface. More specifically, the illustrated object holding bracket is associated with a support surface that is in turn provided with a mechanism that is associable with a detachable attachment mechanism provided on the back of the bracket and allows the bracket to be detachably attached to and moved relative to the surface.

Disclosure of Invention

The present invention proposes to develop a very versatile box having a moderate bulk and providing optimal protection for watches and/or jewelry housed and transported therein.

To this end, the invention relates to a box of travel format for watches or jewelry, said box being arranged to be operated with one hand, said box comprising a closable box body arranged to receive at least one holder for receiving at least one watch or jewelry between at least one tray and a cover, said box body comprising a base with which said cover cooperates to close said box, at least one tray and at least one holder being arranged to be held one above the other by magnetic attraction, said base comprising an upper recess for each tray, wherein at least one tray is detachable with respect to said base.

Detailed Description

The invention relates to a travel-sized case 1 for a timepiece or jewelry 10. By "travel-sized box" it is meant that the box 1 is configured to be operated with one hand for easy carrying by a person or in luggage during travel. Such a box 1 is designed to contain one or more watches or jewelry 10, such as watches, bracelets or other jewelry or the like.

The box 1 comprises a closable case 2 designed to house several constituent parts of the box 1 and a timepiece or jewelry 10.

The case 2 is arranged to house at least one holder 3 for receiving at least one timepiece or jewelry 10 between at least one tray 4 and a cover 5 of the case 2.

The case 2 has a base 6, the base 6 cooperating with the lid 5 to close the case 1.

According to the present invention, at least one tray 4 and at least one holder 3 are provided to be held up and down by magnetic attraction force. More specifically, each tray 4 and each holder 3 are provided to be held up and down by magnetic attraction force.

The inside of the cover 5 may be lined such that each holder 3 provided with a timepiece or jewelry 10 is firmly held on the underside on the tray 4 and rests/rests on the lining on the upper side: more specifically, this is particularly advantageous when timepiece or jewelry 10 includes a movable part as in the case of a necklace, bracelet or the like.

However, when the timepiece or jewelry 10 may be securely held on such a holder 3, such a pad is unnecessary, the holder 3 advantageously comprising a securing mechanism 30 for holding the timepiece or jewelry 10, such as a clip or the like: in fact, the magnetic attraction is advantageously chosen to be high enough that the magnetic attraction holding the holder 3 on the tray 4 is sufficient to press the timepiece or jewelry 10 on the tray 4 in any spatial position and under normal speed and acceleration conditions of the average traveler.

The holder 3 shown in fig. 3 is more specifically designed to receive a wristwatch and advantageously comprises in its lower part a groove arranged to receive the lower string of a bracelet, the upper string of which is held by a securing mechanism 30, where the securing mechanism 30 is a buckle into which the upper string is inserted.

A new generation of watches that are insensitive to very high magnetic fields allows in this case to use high magnetic fields in order to effectively hold the watch.

Various configurations are possible: except for configurations in which both the tray 4 and the holder 3 comprise ferromagnetic parts, each configuration is subjected to the attractive force field of the magnets housed in the base 6 of the cartridge, under the tray 4 and therefore also under the holder 3, the simplest configurations being those in which at least the tray 4 and/or the holder 3 comprise magnetized parts:

each tray 4 comprises at least one magnetized portion having a first magnetic property or being made of ferromagnetic material, and thus each holder 3 comprises at least one portion which is respectively made of ferromagnetic material, or is respectively magnetized by a second magnetic property opposite to the first magnetic property when each tray 4 comprises a magnetized portion having a first magnetic property, or is respectively magnetized when the tray 4 comprises a portion made of ferromagnetic material.

It will thus be appreciated that the invention is more specifically designed to allow each timepiece or jewelry 10 to be placed in the box at the discretion of the user, irrespective of the pre-existing subdivision and optimizing the use of the available internal space, while ensuring a safe distance between the respective watches or jewelry 10 when the box 1 contains more than one timepiece or jewelry 10. The flat upper surface of the tray 4 allows for maximum freedom of placement. Of course, this advantage of the invention is incompatible with the traditional positioning of timepiece or jewelry 10 in the hollow recess of the case: any tray 4 may thus comprise at least one compartment 40, the compartment 40 being provided for specific placement of one holder 3 or the other in a specific geometrical position with respect to the cassette 1.

In figures 2, 4, 8, 10 and in the variant of figure 11, a particular case of tray 4 with a flat upper surface is shown, which allows the user to use the space at his will, ensuring knowledge that each timepiece or jewelry 10 is perfectly held and protected.

More specifically, the tray 4 includes a clamping mechanism 41 to facilitate manipulation in the form of lugs, rings or other forms.

In a particular embodiment, the upper surface of the tray 4 is flush with the edge surface of the base 6.

More specifically, the base 6 of the box 2 is hollow and serves to house all the trays 4 of the same box in the upper recess 7. The present invention shows that a single upper recess 7 is arranged to receive a single tray 4, as shown in fig. 2, 4 or 8, or that a single upper recess 7 is arranged to receive a plurality of trays 4 juxtaposed in a substantially flat manner, as is the mosaic within the single upper recess 7 and as shown in fig. 10. In a further variant, not shown, the bottom 6 can be internally subdivided and comprise a plurality of upper recesses 7. More specifically, the base 6 comprises one upper recess 7 for each tray 4. It should also be noted that boxes 1 with trays 4 of different heights may be provided, so as to have holders 3 of different heights, which are adapted to the height of the timepiece or jewelry 10 to be protected.

The position and possible fixing of each tray 4 with respect to the base 6 of the box 2 can be achieved in different variants.

In the particular case of the figures, at least one tray 4 is removable with respect to the base 6. More specifically, at least one such removable tray 4 may be held in the base 6 by "Velcro" (Velcro) or hook and loop or by a magnetic attraction mechanism, or by a mechanical attachment mechanism, in particular by a tool-less attachment, in particular of the quarter turn fastener type for aeronautics, or the like.

In another variant, at least one tray 4 is fixed to the base 6 in a non-removable manner by means of a permanent fastening mechanism, adhesive, crimping or other means.

In another variant, the base 6 itself suitably forms each tray 4 or a single tray.

In the particular case of the figures, the box 1 comprises at least one container insert 8, the container insert 8 being arranged to be housed between such a removable tray 4 and the base 6. More specifically, at least one such removable tray 4 is held to the container insert 8 by "Velcro" (Velcro) or hook and loop velour or by a magnetic attraction mechanism or by a mechanical attachment mechanism or by any similar means as described above.

Also, more specifically, at least one container insert 8 is removable and is held to the base 6 by "Velcro" or hook velour or by a magnetic attraction mechanism or by a mechanical attachment mechanism or the like.

In another variant, at least one container insert 8 is non-detachably secured to the base 6 by a permanent attachment mechanism.

More specifically, at least one such container insert 8 includes at least one recess 9, the recess 9 being configured to receive a spare part of a timepiece or jewelry 10, and/or a document, instruction, warranty card, proof of purchase or tax returns, and/or a tool.

The case 1 may comprise one or other container inserts 8 on only a portion of the surface of the base 6, so as to allow at least one tray 4 for carrying watches or jewelry 10 to be placed directly on the base 6, so that the at least one tray 4 occupies the entire available internal height of the case 2.

In a specific but non-limiting manner, the base 6 and/or the cover 5 as in fig. 8 comprise at least one side wall 20, as in the embodiment of the figure, typically four side walls 20. The lid 5 or base 6 is hinged to at least one of the side walls 20 by a hinge mechanism 56, such as a hinge or the like. The case 2 comprises, between the cover 5 or the base 6 and the at least one side wall 20, means for maintaining the closed position and/or locking means 50 comprising a first part 505 on the cover cooperating with a second part 506 with complementary function mounted on the base. The base 6, the cover 5 and the means for maintaining the closed position and/or the locking means 50 are arranged to withstand the box 1 falling from the body height onto the ground and to ensure that the box 1 remains in the closed position when it is dropped. Thus, the cartridge 2 may comprise a solid structure/solid mechanism made of stamped or welded metal, fiberglass, carbon fiber, plastic material, wood, leather or other material. The solid structure may include holes to reduce its mass without compromising its rigidity. The solid structure may be covered with any internal and/or external coating suitable for the timepiece or jewelry to be housed therein.

The mechanism for maintaining the closed position and/or the locking mechanism 50 may be of the magnetic type, or comprise a mechanical lock or latch, or comprise a key or combination lock to prevent accidental opening, etc.

In a particular variant, the body 2 of the box 1 is of one-piece type, more particularly but not exclusively made of leather or plastic material, etc.

While the invention is more particularly useful for travel-sized boxes, it has derivative applications for storage boxes for watches and jewelry stores for personal use by users, to facilitate storage and handling of multiple sets without requiring the use of a single box prior to sale, and for display or storage in a bank vault.

Claims

1. A box (1) of travel format for watches or jewelry (10), said box being arranged to be operated with one hand, said box comprising a closable box body (2) arranged to receive at least one holder (3) for receiving at least one watch or jewelry (10) between at least one tray (4) and a cover (5), said box body (2) comprising a base (6), said cover (5) cooperating with said base to close said box (1), at least one of said trays (4) and at least one of said holders (3) being arranged to be held up and down to each other by magnetic attraction, said base (6) comprising an upper recess (7) for each of said trays (4), characterized in that at least one of said trays (4) is detachable with respect to said base (6), said box comprising at least one container insert (8), said container insert (8) being arranged to be received between one of said detachable trays (4) and said base (6) by means of at least one of a velcro-type or a velcro-type (40) attachment mechanism, or a velcro-type (40) attachment mechanism comprising at least one of said receptacle (40) to said at least one velcro mechanism, said at least one compartment being intended to house at least one of said holders (3) in a complementary manner in a particular geometric position of said holder (3) with respect to said box (1), at least one of said holders (3) comprising a fixing mechanism (30) for holding a timepiece or jewelry.

2. The cassette (1) according to claim 1, wherein each tray (4) and each holder (3) are arranged to be held one above the other by magnetic attraction.

The cassette (1) according to claim 2, wherein each of said trays (4) comprises at least one magnetized portion having a first magnetic property or being made of ferromagnetic material, each of said holders (3) comprising at least one portion being made of ferromagnetic material or being magnetized with a second magnetic property opposite to said first magnetic property when each of said trays (4) comprises a magnetized portion having a first magnetic property or being magnetized when said tray (4) comprises a portion made of ferromagnetic material.

4. The box (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one detachable tray (4) is held to the base (6) by "velcro" or hook velour or by a magnetic attraction mechanism or by a mechanical attachment mechanism.

5. The cartridge (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one of the container inserts (8) is detachable and held to the base (6) by "velcro" or hook velour or by magnetic attraction means or by mechanical attachment means.

6. The cassette (1) according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the container inserts (8) is non-detachably secured to the base (6) by a permanent attachment mechanism.

7. The box (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one of said container inserts (8) comprises at least one recess (9) arranged to receive a spare part of said timepiece or jewelry (10), and/or a file and/or a tool.

8. The box (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that said base (6) or said cover (5) comprises at least one side wall (20), said cover (5) or said base (6) being hinged on at least one of said side walls (20), said box body (2) comprising means for maintaining a closed position and/or locking means (50) between said cover (5) or said base (6) and at least one of said side walls (20).
