Palatability experiment
The experimental object: 30 cats with 3-5kg of body weight and good physical condition are selected for palatability comparison experiments.
The specific feeding conditions are as follows: the test cats are fed with A grains and B grains according to an experimental principle by adopting an international palatability comparison test method of a double basin method, wherein the A grains are pet grains, the B grains are a mixture of the composition in the embodiment 3 and the A grains, and the weight ratio of the composition added into the A grains is 30%. 60g of each cat food is weighed and put in a basin, and is fed for 2 times in a fixed time and quantitative manner every day, the pre-test period of the experiment is 2 days, the positive test period is 7 days, and the feed intake of each cat food of each tested cat every day is recorded. Each test cat was individually kept in a pet cage and was free to drink water. The feed intake represents the average level of daily feed intake of certain cat food in the double-basin in the positive test period of 7 days, and the feed intake rate represents the feed intake proportion of certain cat food, namely the daily average feed intake of certain cat food in the double-basin/the total feed intake of the double-basin is multiplied by 100 percent. The test results are shown in Table 1.
Table 1A effect of two cat foods B on feeding characteristics of pet cats
Cat food | Feed intake/(g/d) | Feeding rate/% |
A | 31.2 | 52.3 |
B | 28.5 | 47.7 |
As can be seen from the data in Table 1, feeding the pet food containing the composition prepared in accordance with the present application did not significantly differ from feeding the pet food alone in terms of feeding rate and did not affect palatability.
Gastroenteritis detection experiment
The experimental object: 36 cats with the weight of 3-5kg and gastroenteritis are randomly divided into 6 groups of 6 cats, and experiments are carried out.
Before the experiment, the cats were sampled according to the laboratory test sampling method of NY/T541-2002 animal epidemic disease, and then the biochemical indexes of white blood cells, serum amyloid A, serum immunoglobulin A and serum immunoglobulin G were measured, and the average value was obtained, as shown in Table 2 below.
TABLE 2 physical Condition of cats prior to the experiment
The specific feeding conditions are as follows: feeding 60g of pet food or pet food containing the composition prepared by the application to each pet food per day according to a group, wherein the 1 st group is a control group, and only the pet food is fed; group 2 pet food and the composition prepared in example 1, the composition being 30% by weight of the pet food; group 3 pet food and the composition prepared in example 3, the composition being 30% by weight of the pet food; group 4 pet food and the composition prepared in example 4, the composition being 30% by weight of the pet food; group 5 fed pet food and the composition prepared in comparative example 1, the composition was 30% by weight of the pet food, and each group was free to eat drinking water.
Observing vomiting and hematochezia of the sick cats, wherein the vomiting and hematochezia of the first group of sick cats always exist during feeding; the vomit is eliminated after the second group of ill cats are fed for 2.5 days, and the second group of ill cats are free from hematochezia after 3.5 days; the third group of ill cats has no vomiting after 2.3 days of feeding and no hematochezia after 3.1 days; the fourth group of ill cats has no vomiting after 2.1 days of feeding and no hematochezia after 2.9 days; the vomit disappeared after feeding the fifth group of sick cats for 6.2 days, but hematochezia still remained.
After feeding each group of cats for 7 days under the feeding conditions, blood collection of each group of cats was again subjected to measurement of the contents of biochemical indexes of white blood cells, serum amyloid A, serum immunoglobulin A and serum immunoglobulin G, and the average value was obtained, as shown in Table 3 below.
TABLE 3 physical Condition of cats after the experiment
From the data in tables 2 and 3, it can be seen that after 7 days of feeding, the vomiting phenomenon and blood of the pet cats in the experiment 2-4 groups disappear, and the contents of the leucocytes, the serum amyloid A protein, the serum immunoglobulin A protein and the serum immunoglobulin G protein are restored to normal indexes; the vomit phenomenon of the pet cat in the experiment 5 group disappears, but the blood stool still exists, and compared with the pet cat in the experiment 2-4 group, the contents of the leucocyte, the serum amyloid A, the serum immunoglobulin A and the serum immunoglobulin G are higher; however, the pet cats in the experiment 1 as a control group still have vomiting and bloody stool, and the contents of leucocytes, serum amyloid A, serum immunoglobulin A and serum immunoglobulin G are higher than the normal range. The results show that the pet food of the composition prepared by the application can ensure that emu oil plays a role sufficiently, quickly and efficiently, and has the effect of protecting stomach and intestines.
