Description

Device for packaging and applying eyeliner and method for making up eyelids
The present application is a divisional application of an invention patent application having an application date of 2015, 12/2, application number of "201580065838.1" and an invention name of "a device for packaging and applying eyeliner".
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a device for packaging and applying eyeliner.
Background
It is known practice to make up the eyelids or eyebrows by tracing a line of eyeliner with the aid of an applicator provided for this purpose.
In known eyeliner applicators, some applicators comprise a container provided with a threaded neck on which a closure cap carrying a rod can be fixed, said rod being provided at its end with an applicator tip, said applicator tip being manufactured with a flocked coating, usually by injection moulding of a thermoplastic material. The wiping member is usually located in the neck in order to wipe the stem clean and reduce the amount of product carried away when the applicator is withdrawn.
FR 2933281 describes an eyeliner applicator (which comprises a stem and an applicator end piece carried by the stem) which can be deformed during use and which, depending on the chosen direction, makes it possible to delineate two lines having different widths.
FR 2 836 031 discloses an eyeliner applicator with at least two tips.
FR 2 793 663 discloses various applicators for applying a product to the lips, which applicators are used with containers provided with a wiping member. The shape of the applicator member is chosen to obtain a differentiated wiping thereof, in which a region of the applicator member is more loaded with product.
Also known are applicator pens comprising an applicator tip made by machining a felt.
It is beneficial to allow the user to change the width of the line drawn on the eyelid or eyebrow.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention aims to meet this need and achieves it by proposing a device for packaging and applying eyeliner, said device comprising:
a container containing eyeliner to be applied,
-an applicator tip for applying eyeliner contained in a container, the applicator tip having two opposite main faces, preferably with an elongated profile, with a variable width through a maximum, the two faces converging in a direction towards a distal end of the applicator tip.
According to the invention, by bringing that part of the applicator tip having the desired width into contact with the skin while moving the applicator over the skin, the user can easily change the width of the line during application depending on the result to be achieved.
The applicator tip is preferably made of felt, that is to say it comprises fibres which are oriented longitudinally and bonded together. Thus, due to the porosity of the applicator tip, the product may diffuse into the applicator tip by capillary action. The applicator tip may be flocked or not.
The fibres may be fibres made of thermoplastic materials, in particular acrylic polymers, polyesters or polyamides. The fibers may have a linear density of less than 1 denier, preferably from 0.5 denier to 0.9 denier, particularly 0.7 denier (or about 9 microns).
The fibers may be made of
Figure BDA0003966587620000021
And (4) preparing.
As a variant, the applicator tip is moulded from plastic.
The applicator tip may not have any perforations or cavities or depressions in its surface for application.
Thus, the applicator tip may not have any outwardly concave ridges, or any striations or grooves at its end. During application of the cosmetic product, the applicator tip may have a surface that is convex towards the outside only in the area where the application portion is in contact with the skin.
The main faces may each have a contour tending to be elliptical or even elliptical.
The main faces may be connected by side faces each having a convex shape in cross section. The side faces may each have a convex shape in longitudinal section.
The convex shape makes it easier to apply to the skin.
The applicator tip may be symmetrical with respect to a first median plane of symmetry passing between the two main faces.
The applicator tip may be symmetrical with respect to a second median plane of symmetry intersecting the two main faces at half their width.
The symmetrical shape makes it possible to apply makeup to the right or left eye in the same way.
The radius of curvature of the main surface in longitudinal section may be greater than 4mm, better still greater than 10mm.
The main face may be a portion of a rotating cylinder, wherein a generatrix of the rotating cylinder is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the applicator tip.
The side face may have a distal portion that converges toward the distal end of the applicator tip and a proximal portion that converges toward the proximal end of the applicator tip.
The user can use the side to apply eyeliner.
The side surface may have a variable width through a maximum, the maximum preferably being closer to the proximal end than to the distal end of the applicator. The side surfaces allow the user to easily change the line during application depending on the result to be achieved.
Preferably, the maximum width of the side faces is smaller than the maximum width of the main face. Therefore, the user can draw a thinner line with the side surface than with the main surface.
One of the side faces is convex when one of the main faces is viewed from the front. The radius of curvature at the middle of the sides may be less than 20mm, more preferably less than 15mm. By such a curvature, the user can bring a portion of one side having a desired width into contact with the skin while moving the applicator over the skin.
The applicator tip may have a narrowing of its cross-section between the application portion and an endpiece for mounting the applicator tip in the body of an application pen or in the shaft of the applicator.
The distal end of the applicator tip is preferably located on a longitudinal axis of the applicator tip, which is linear.
Another subject of the invention is a method for making up the eyelids or eyebrows, comprising the step of applying eyeliner to the skin by means of the applicator according to the invention.

Detailed Description
The packaging and application device 10 shown in fig. 1 is in the form of an application pen comprising a body 11 of elongate shape along an axis X, which defines a reservoir containing a cosmetic product to be applied, in this case eyeliner. The eyeliner comprises, for example, water, pigments, in particular iron oxides, colorants and polymers.
The storage part has a capacity of, for example, between 1ml and 6 ml.
As shown, the device 10 may also include a closure cap 12 secured to the body 11, for example by snap fastening, screwing or friction.
The body 11 carries an applicator tip 20 according to the invention (shown in fig. 2 to 5), which applicator tip 20 may be fixed to the body 11 by any suitable means, for example being press-fitted into a corresponding housing provided at the upper end of the body 11, communicating with the reservoir.
The tip 20 is preferably made of felt.
The tip 20 has a mounting end piece 21 for fixing it to the body 11 and an application portion 22 for application by contact with the skin, in order to deposit thereon an eyeliner which saturates the felt.
The end piece 21 may have a beveled proximal portion 60.
The applicator tip 20 is elongated along a longitudinal axis Y coinciding with the longitudinal axis X of the body 11 of the device 10.
The applicator tip 20 is fed with product through its proximal end 23, and the product can diffuse longitudinally in the endpiece along the axis Y until it reaches the application portion 22 for contact with the skin.
The end piece 21 has a rotationally symmetrical shape about the axis Y, with a circular cross section. The maximum diameter of the end piece 21 is for example between 4mm and 6mm, for example 5mm.
The spreading portion 22 has two opposite main faces 30, each of which has, in front view, an elongated profile, in particular an oval profile, defined by a ridge 31.
In the example of fig. 2 to 5, the face 30 is arched very slightly towards the outside, with a radius of curvature r of, for example, between 4mm and 100mm, the surface of the face 30 being, for example, a portion of a rotating cylinder having a generatrix perpendicular to the axis Y. As a variant, the face 30 is flat or concave.
As can be seen in fig. 5, the spreading portion 22 preferably has a symmetrical shape with respect to a first median plane M1 located between the faces 30 and with respect to a second median plane M2 perpendicular to the first median plane.
Each face 30 is defined frontally by a zone 31a of ridge 31 converging towards the distal end 35 of applicator tip 20 and posteriorly by a zone 31b converging towards proximal end 23.
Each face 30 has a length L of, for example, between 3mm and 15mm, better still between 5mm and 10mm, and a width w of between 0.3mm and 8 mm.
The faces 30 are joined together by a side face 40 which is generally convex toward the outside, arched toward the outside when the applicator portion 22 is viewed in longitudinal section and arched toward the outside when viewed in cross section, as shown in fig. 5. The radius of curvature q at the middle of the side 30 is less than 15mm when the spreading portion 22 is viewed in longitudinal section.
The side 40 has a variable width through a maximum 41. The maximum 41 is closer to the proximal end of the applicator than to the distal end of the applicator.
The angle a at which the front regions of the faces 30 converge towards the distal end 35 is typically between 3 ° and 80 °.
The applicator portion 22 is connected to the end piece 21 by an intermediate portion 50 defining a narrow portion 51. The narrow portion 51 gives flexibility to the applicator tip. At the narrow portion, the cross-section of the applicator tip is, for example, circular, as shown.
A variant of the applicator tip 20 is shown in fig. 6. In this variant, the face 30 has a smaller width than in the example in fig. 2 to 5, and the ridges 31 extend from the distal end 35 where they meet to the end piece 21.
The front area of each face 30 or 40 is approximately triangular in front view.
In the example of fig. 7, the applicator tip is mounted on the end of a stem of the applicator, which can be fixed to the body 11 of the container containing the product P.
During use, as shown in fig. 8, according to whether the applicator tip 20 is along a plane parallel to the median plane M 1 Is moved, by contact between the side 40 and the skin, or whether a greater part of the applicator portion 22 is in contact with the skin, via the main face 30, then the applicator tip is parallel to the plane M 2 By moving, the user can draw a line T of eye liner paste, either thick or thin.
The invention is not limited to the embodiments that have been described. In particular, the shape of the applicator tip may be further modified without departing from the scope of the invention. The applicator tip may be manufactured by molding an elastomer and then covering with a flocked coating.
The expression "having a" should be understood as being synonymous with "having at least one".
