Description

Packaging system for power insulator
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the field of packaging systems for electrical insulators, in particular packaging systems consisting of collective octagonal prismatic packages which are compressed together to form a stable structure.
Background
The bottleneck in the transportation of electrical insulators is how to protect this sensitive element, which is made of fragile glass or porcelain. Therefore, packaging needs to be considered to provide the highest level of protection yet allow handling, stacking, and handling.
Currently used are quadrangular prismatic boxes, consisting of wooden strips fixed together, allowing stacking on pallets and stability by collective binding.
However, this solution is not subject to vibrations during transport, especially severe oscillations that may damage its structure, loosening the binding and creating a risk for the integrity of the insulator.
In order to save packaging material resources and reduce the transportation costs of sea or land transport, the idea has arisen to make the packaging with less material and to focus on how to ensure the integrity of the packaged product.
In order to test the possibility of its implementation, some models, some also loaded, were made. Then, tests of operation, handling, outdoor transportation and storage were performed according to the ABNT NBR 8604 specification, and tests of stacking and truck transportation were also performed, which traveled 4800 km back and forth in total. After the goods come back, careful analysis of their condition was made without any damage to the packaging or the underlying product.
Compared with the current package, the cost of the material flow of the package is reduced by 20%, and the material manufactured by the package is reduced by more than 40%. The proposed solution not only brings about the protection of the product and the ease of transport, but also brings about an efficient production and savings in material resources, since its manufacture uses fewer components; better space utilization in terms of logistics optimization than current packaging, allowing in-line assembly, and also better structural smoothness than current solutions.
When considering the manufacture of smoked wood, the production of polluting waste is greatly reduced due to the use of less wood.
The scheme of the invention brings a stable and firm packaging system and brings safety for transportation, and the insulators are protected and arranged by octagonal prism-shaped packaging to form a stable set.
Document US9346585, showing a device and a container that are capable of being telescopic and modular. In many applications, containers like others can be fixed laterally or vertically. The space is fixed at the upper end of a section with an opening by one end of the wall and at the lower end of a section by a second end, one or two tongue-shaped strips are arranged on the wall, and the connecting mechanism is connected with the groove. The vertical connection is a stack of containers, locked to each other by grooves and protrusions to prevent rotation.
JP20180033487 discloses a battery module having a plurality of cells, at least one spacer between two connected cells, at least one side of the spacer having a reflective layer reflecting at least 60% of electromagnetic waves of 0.7 μm to 3 μm.
US2020406569 brings a container folded from a sheet of material into a box of octagonal prismatic configuration.
It has been found that there is no mention of a packaging system using octagonal prism shaped elongated packages arranged in a stable group with each other.

Detailed Description
The inventive package is intended for packaging electric insulators, the packaging being characterized in that it is made of a frangible material, such as glass or porcelain.
The conventional rectangular box is fixed together by plates, and the formed package is bound together. The proposed system is for shipping octagonal prismatic packages (2), see fig. 2, bundled into a mass.
This combination allows for better utilization of the space of the container, transporting the bundled packages (2), as is conventional with square box combinations.
The package (2) is made up of two headboards (5), at least one intermediate support (7), 4 side walls (8) and at least 3 ties. The headboard (5) is an octagonal plate with a central hole (10) of a diameter to fit the electrical insulator to be packaged. The side walls (8) are elongated flat elements, rectangular in shape, the length of which is determined by the number of power insulators to be installed. The intermediate support (7) is also an octagonal plate element, and the binding (6) is a rope of soft material, such as iron wire, rope, polymer adhesive tape or other suitable articles.
From fig. 2 to 5, the package (2) of the present invention is formed with the side walls (8) spaced 90 degrees apart with the headboard (5) at one end of the side walls (8). An intermediate support (7) is provided at the middle end of the length of the side wall (8) and is perpendicular to the side wall (8) and parallel to the headboard (5).
The arrangement is such that the packaging (2) is prismatic, oblong and octagonal in cross section, the lateral surface consisting of side walls (8), the side walls (8) alternating with spaces, the front and rear surfaces of which are headboards (5).
The headboard (5) is contacted with each element of the side wall (8) by a side reinforcing piece (9), and the outer edge of the headboard (5) is the side wall (8) at the inner edge, and the length of the side wall is preferably the same as the width of the side wall (8); when the binding (6) is tightened, the components begin to be supported, preferably at the intersection of the side walls (8) and headboard (5).
In the same way, the junction of the elements of the intermediate support (7) and the side walls (8) has lateral stiffeners (9) of the same length as the width of the side walls (8) and joining the parts together, preferably at the junction of the intermediate support (7) and the side walls (8), when the tie (6) is tightened to generate the support force.
The system of the invention uses collective packages (2) in the form of a bundle, see fig. 1. The bundle is preferably mounted on a pallet (1) with the packs (2) arranged in layers, arranged in side rows, one after the other, with the side edges of the side walls (8) of two connected packs (2) coinciding, so that the side supports (2) of these connected packs (2) coincide with the side edges to produce side fixing, see fig. 1A.
Between each layer there is an intermediate layer (3) intended as a distance to avoid contact of the electrical insulators of the upper and lower layers, see fig. 1A and 1B.
The packaging system is stacked layer by layer to a certain height, then the cover (4) is added on the top to finish the assembly, and then binding is carried out, and adhesive tape or other binding elements are used.
It is worth mentioning that the package (2) has an octagonal prismatic shape surrounding the surface of the collective product to form a cylindrical shape. When packaging the power insulator (11), the package (2) prevents the power insulator (11) from touching the ground or touching a nearby power insulator (11), see fig. 6.
The invention is not limited to what has been mentioned or shown by the illustrations, but is of broad scope. Many modifications and other inventive illustrations will come to mind to one skilled in the art to which this invention pertains having the benefit of the teachings presented in the foregoing descriptions and the associated drawings. It is also to be understood that the invention is not to be limited to the specific forms shown and that modifications and other arrangements are intended to be included within the scope of the appended claims. Although specific terms are employed, they are used in a generic and descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation.
