The invention discloses a wire dress book binding automation system and method based on PLC control, relating to the technical field of automatic control and comprising the following steps: the device comprises an upper computer, a PLC control module, a material transmission module, a positioning module, a binding execution module and a clamping module. The invention binds by a fixed binding process, has simple operation, accuracy and reliability and convenient maintenance, and relieves workers from the labor of complicated machinery; the binding efficiency and accuracy are improved, the human resources are saved, and good process conditions are provided for the subsequent production flow.
