For breeding artificial nest basket hanging sites: observing and recording night lodging sites and roosting trees of crested ibis in the middle and late ten days of each year, and horizontally arranging artificial nests on stable roosting trees of crested ibis. If the behavior of nippon with existing nest material is observed, an artificial nest basket is required to be arranged on the roost as soon as possible so as to avoid the nippon from abandoning propagation due to frequent falling (or missing) of the nest material. According to monitoring experience and research results of wild population and breeding nests of wild population and Dengzhi Dengqing in Zhejiang, the artificial nest basket is arranged on a thin and sparse horizontal branch 1/3 below the crown of a tall tree (mainly cinnamomum camphora) in an early spring active area of Nipponia nippon a selected basis.
After the artificial nest basket of the invention is researched and developed by tracking and monitoring the breeding period of the wild Chinese angelica population of crested ibis on Zhejiang by 2015 to date, 20 artificial nests are arranged in the field, wherein 16 crested ibis selectively lodge and successfully breed uniformly, and the utilization rate is 80%. The artificial nest basket is not arranged in the area, because the suitable nest-forming conditions are lacked, the nest materials fall and leak, the breeding density is low, eggs fall and leak, and the breeding failure rate is high; after the artificial nest basket is arranged in advance in the next year, the breeding is successful.
The Nipponia ibis is recruited by a method for arranging an artificial nest basket, an ideal nest position is provided for nesting, spawning, hatching and brooding, the problem of the nesting of the Nipponia ibis in a wild way can be effectively solved, a necessary guarantee is provided for the development of the Nipponia ibis population in south China, a technical demonstration is provided for the development of the Nipponia ibis population in other areas in China and Nipponia ibis in Japan and Korea, and the artificial nest basket has wide ecological and social benefits.
