Typically, the operating system will have a dedicated system service responsible for monitoring backlight adjustment events. The backlight adjustment event may be an event of increasing the backlight brightness or an event of decreasing the backlight brightness.
For example, a user triggers a hot key on the keyboard that is used to adjust backlight brightness, and an input event subsystem in the kernel of the operating system reports backlight adjustment events to a specialized system service.
And 102, determining a corresponding target display device according to the backlight adjusting event, and generating a backlight adjusting request aiming at the target display device.
In the embodiment of the invention, the operating system simultaneously uses one or more display devices, wherein the default display device is marked as the target display device. And responding to the backlight adjustment event, detecting the target display device, and if the target display device is found, determining the target display device corresponding to the backlight adjustment event. The adjustment amount may be positive or negative, and the adjustment amount may be determined by the setting corresponding to the hot key on the keyboard, for example, the hot key F1 corresponds to + 10%, and the hot key F2 corresponds to-10%. For example, the backlight adjustment request is parsed to obtain the adjustment amount therein. The adjustment amount of the backlight adjustment request is generated based on the backlight adjustment event.
Step 205, determining the adjusted backlight brightness according to the adjustment amount.
In the embodiment of the invention, the current value in the backlight brightness register is acquired, and then the adjusted backlight brightness can be calculated by combining the adjustment quantity. And then, judging whether the adjusted backlight brightness is between the maximum backlight brightness and the minimum backlight brightness, and finally determining the adjusted backlight brightness if the adjusted backlight brightness is between the maximum backlight brightness and the minimum backlight brightness.
And step 206, writing the adjusted backlight brightness into the backlight brightness register, so that the adjusted backlight brightness is transmitted to the embedded controller through the backlight brightness register, and the embedded controller adjusts the target display device to the adjusted backlight brightness.
