The water-in-water multicolor paint is driven by the real stone paint in the field of building exterior walls, is one of two exterior wall paints which are most widely applied at present, and has the advantages of high cost performance, environmental protection, light weight, vivid stone simulation effect and the like.
The multi-color paint is a metastable multiphase system obtained by uniformly dispersing color points in a continuous phase, and in order to simulate the stone effect and facilitate granulation, the color points are added with pigment fillers such as titanium dioxide and the like; the continuous phase is required to be uniform and transparent, and the color and the shape of the color dots are displayed to the maximum extent, so that the specific gravity of the color dots is higher than that of the continuous phase.
A large amount of associated alkali swelling thickening agents or polyurethane thickening agents are added into a continuous phase of the traditional multicolor paint to improve the viscosity, improve the storage stability of the multicolor paint and prevent color points from layering and sinking. However, the alkali swelling thickener has strong hydrophilicity, which can affect the water resistance of the colorful coating, and the coating can turn white and foam when meeting water. And the acrylic emulsion is adopted in the continuous phase of some multicolor coatings for thickening to improve the viscosity, but the thickening effect of the acrylic emulsion is difficult to control, and the stable storage of the multicolor coatings is not facilitated.

In some of these embodiments, the self-thickening continuous phase further comprises at least one of a second dispersant, a substrate wetting agent, a film-forming aid, an antifreeze, an antifoam, and a biocide.
In some of these embodiments, the second dispersant is selected from organic dispersants containing pigment affinic groups. Further, the second dispersant is at least one selected from the group consisting of DSIPER BYK-190, DSIPER BYK-191 and DISPER BYK 192. The second dispersant contains pigment affinity group, so that the second dispersant has better compatibility with the color point and can improve the storage stability of the self-thickening multicolor paint. In some of the examples, the second dispersant is present in the self-thickening continuous phase in an amount of 1 to 4 parts by weight.
In some of these examples, the mass fraction of the substrate wetting agent in the self-thickening continuous phase is from 0.05 parts to 0.2 parts.
The film forming additive has the function of improving the film forming performance of the coating. In an embodiment of the invention, the coalescent is selected from the group consisting of alcohol esters twelve. In some of these embodiments, the film-forming aid is present in the self-thickening continuous phase in an amount of 2 to 4 parts by weight.
The anti-freezing agent can improve the anti-freezing performance of the self-thickening multicolor paint and has the function of reducing the freezing temperature of the paint. In an embodiment of the invention, the antifreeze is selected from ethylene glycol. In some of the examples, the antifreeze agent is present in the self-thickening continuous phase in an amount of 1 to 2.5 parts by weight.
In some of these embodiments, the defoamer is selected from at least one of a mineral oil defoamer and a silicone defoamer. In some of these examples, the defoamer is present in the self-thickening continuous phase in an amount of 0.05 to 0.2 parts by weight.
The bactericide has the functions of sterilization and corrosion prevention. Optionally, the biocide is a cason-type biocide. In some embodiments, the bactericide is present in the self-thickening continuous phase in an amount of 0.05 to 0.2 parts by weight.
Further, the self-thickening continuous phase comprises the following components in parts by mass: 20 to 50 portions of water, 1 to 4 portions of flatting powder, 0.5 to 1 portion of talcum powder, 40 to 80 portions of second emulsion, 0.3 to 1 portion of silane coupling agent, 1 to 4 portions of second dispersing agent, 0.05 to 0.2 portion of base material wetting agent, 2 to 4 portions of film-forming additive, 1 to 2.5 portions of antifreezing agent, 0.05 to 0.2 portion of defoaming agent and 0.05 to 0.2 portion of bactericide.
In some of these embodiments, the inactive continuous phase further includes at least one of a third dispersant, a substrate wetting agent, a film-forming aid, an antifreeze, an antifoam agent, and a biocide.
In some of these embodiments, the third dispersant is selected from organic dispersants containing pigment affinic groups. Further, the third dispersant is at least one selected from the group consisting of DSIPER BYK-190, DSIPER BYK-191 and DISPER BYK 192. The third dispersant contains pigment affinity group, so that the third dispersant has better compatibility with the color point and can improve the storage stability of the self-thickening multicolor paint. In some of the examples, the mass part of the third dispersing agent in the inactive continuous phase is 1 to 4 parts.
In some of the examples, the mass fraction of the substrate wetting agent in the inactive continuous phase is 0.05 parts to 0.2 parts.
The film forming additive has the function of improving the film forming performance of the coating. In an embodiment of the invention, the coalescent is selected from the group consisting of alcohol esters twelve. In some of these embodiments, the film-forming aid is present in the inactive continuous phase in an amount of 2 to 4 parts by weight.

In some of these embodiments, the defoamer is selected from at least one of a mineral oil defoamer and a silicone defoamer. In some of the examples, the mass fraction of the defoamer in the non-active continuous phase is between 0.05 and 0.2 parts.
The bactericide has the functions of sterilization and corrosion prevention. Optionally, the biocide is a cason-type biocide. In some embodiments, the mass portion of the bactericide in the inactive continuous phase is 0.05 to 0.2 parts.
Further, the inactive continuous phase comprises the following components in parts by weight: 20 to 50 portions of water, 1 to 4 portions of flatting powder, 0.5 to 1 portion of talcum powder, 40 to 80 portions of third emulsion, 0.3 to 1 portion of silane coupling agent, 1 to 4 portions of third dispersing agent, 0.05 to 0.2 portion of base material wetting agent, 2 to 4 portions of film-forming additive, 1 to 2.5 portions of antifreezing agent, 0.05 to 0.2 portion of defoaming agent and 0.05 to 0.2 portion of bactericide.
The invention also provides application of the self-thickening multicolor paint in preparing architectural decorations according to another embodiment.

granulating liquid: 93 parts of deionized water, 7 parts of protective adhesive and 0.1 part of bactericide.
Base paint: 46.6 parts of deionized water, 1 part of cellulose, 0.3 part of first dispersing agent, AMP-950.1 parts, 0.1 part of defoaming agent, 0.1 part of bactericide, 1 part of titanium dioxide, 7 parts of calcined kaolin, 1 part of hollow glass bead, 35 parts of first emulsion, 1.5 parts of film-forming assistant, 1 part of antifreezing agent, 0.28 part of protective adhesive and 1 part of water-based color paste.

The preparation method of the self-thickening multicolor paint comprises the following steps:
(1) preparing a granulating liquid: adding deionized water into a dispersion cylinder, adding protective glue and a bactericide at the rotating speed of 100-300 rpm, increasing the rotating speed to 1200-1500rmp, and dispersing for 20-30 min.
(2) Preparation of base paint: adding deionized water into a dispersion cylinder, adding a first dispersing agent and cellulose at the rotating speed of 500-700rpm, adding AMP-95, a defoaming agent and a bactericide after dispersing for 10-15min, increasing the rotating speed to 1000-1500rpm after dispersing for 10min, adding titanium dioxide, calcined kaolin and hollow glass beads, adding a first emulsion, a defoaming agent, an antifreezing agent and a film forming aid after dispersing for 10-20min, slowly adding a protective adhesive after dispersing for 3-5min, maintaining the rotating speed of 1000-1500rpm for dispersing for 20-30min, and adding a water-based color paste.
(3) Preparation of self-thickening continuous phase: adding deionized water into a dispersion cylinder, adding a film-forming aid, an antifreezing agent, a second dispersing agent, a base material wetting agent and a silane coupling agent at the rotating speed of 1000rpm of 500-.

granulating liquid: 95 parts of deionized water, 5 parts of protective glue and 0.1 part of bactericide.

(2) Preparation of base paint: adding deionized water into a dispersion cylinder, adding a first dispersing agent and cellulose at the rotating speed of 700rpm of 500-.
(3) Preparation of self-thickening continuous phase: adding deionized water into a dispersion cylinder, adding a film-forming aid, an antifreezing agent, a second dispersing agent, a base material wetting agent and a silane coupling agent at the rotating speed of 1000rpm of 500-.
(4) Preparation of inactive continuous phase: adding deionized water into a dispersion cylinder, adding a film-forming aid, an antifreezing agent, a third dispersing agent, a base material wetting agent and a silane coupling agent at the rotating speed of 1000rpm of 500-.

Comparative example 3:
the compositions of the granulation liquid, the base paint and the self-thickening continuous phase of the self-thickening multicolor paint of the embodiment are the same as those of the embodiment 1, and the inactive continuous phase further contains 1 part of alkali swelling thickener. The self-thickening multicolor paint comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight:
20 parts of granulating liquid,
40 parts of base paint, and
40 parts of inactive continuous phase.
According to the standard requirements of HG/T4343-. The viscosity of the coating is tested according to the standard regulation of GB 9269-88 Stomer viscometer method for measuring viscosity of building coatings. The results of the relevant tests are reported in tables 1 and 2.

As is clear from the results of examples 1 to 6 in Table 1, the self-thickening multicolor paint prepared by the present invention has excellent heat storage stability, stable viscosity before and after heat storage, no delamination in the can, no bleeding, and no difference before and after heat storage of the color dots; the water resistance is good, and the water whitening and foaming problems do not occur after 168 hours of soaking. Meanwhile, the paint has excellent alkali resistance, acid rain resistance, scouring resistance, stain resistance and artificial climate aging resistance. The self-thickening multicolor paint of example 7 had a reduced amount of base paint and an increased amount of self-thickening continuous phase compared to the self-thickening multicolor paints of examples 1-6, and the paint had slightly inferior heat storage compared to examples 1-6, with slight delamination. The self-thickening multicolor paint of example 8 was not added with hollow glass beads, and the heat storage property of the paint was slightly inferior to that of the paint of examples 1 to 6, and delamination occurred.
As can be seen from comparative example 1, when only the self-thickening continuous phase was used and the non-reactive continuous phase was not added, the stability of the coating was poor, the coating thickened seriously after heat storage, the viscosity increased significantly, and it was not convenient for practical use. And the color dots also shrink, the fluidity in the tank is poor, and the color dots are difficult to stir and mix evenly. As can be seen from comparative example 2, when only the inactive continuous phase was used, the coating material could not be self-thickened, and the viscosity was too low, resulting in poor storage property of the coating material and easy occurrence of delamination and precipitation. It can be seen from the comparison example 3 that the viscosity of the paint is increased to 65.7KU after 1 part of the alkali swelling thickener is added, but the viscosity after heat storage has a relatively obvious post-thickening phenomenon, the color point also has slight breakage and shrinkage, and the water resistance of the paint adopting the alkali swelling thickener is obviously poor, and the paint has obvious whitening phenomenon after 96 hours of water soaking and poor water resistance.
The technical features of the embodiments described above may be arbitrarily combined, and for the sake of brevity, all possible combinations of the technical features in the embodiments described above are not described, but should be considered as being within the scope of the present specification as long as there is no contradiction between the combinations of the technical features.
The above-mentioned embodiments only express several embodiments of the present invention, so as to understand the technical solutions of the present invention specifically and in detail, but not to be understood as the limitation of the protection scope of the invention. It should be noted that, for a person skilled in the art, several variations and modifications can be made without departing from the inventive concept, which falls within the scope of the present invention. It should be understood that the technical solutions provided by the present invention, which are obtained by logical analysis, reasoning or limited experiments, are within the scope of the present invention as set forth in the appended claims. Therefore, the protection scope of the patent of the invention is subject to the content of the appended claims, and the description can be used for explaining the content of the claims.

Claims (10)

1. The self-thickening multicolor paint is characterized in that the preparation raw materials comprise: base paint, granulation liquid, self-thickening continuous phase and inactive continuous phase;
the base paint comprises the following components in parts by weight: 30-50 parts of water, 0.8-1.2 parts of cellulose, 3-10 parts of calcined kaolin, 0-3 parts of titanium dioxide, 30-50 parts of first emulsion, 0.16-0.64 part of lithium magnesium silicate-based protective adhesive and 0-3 parts of water-based color paste, wherein the pH value of the base paint is 8-10;
the granulation liquid comprises the following components in parts by weight: 92-96 parts of water and 4-8 parts of lithium-magnesium silicate-based protective adhesive;
the self-thickening continuous phase comprises the following components in parts by weight: 20 to 50 parts of water, 1 to 4 parts of flatting powder, 0.5 to 1 part of talcum powder, 40 to 80 parts of second emulsion and 0.3 to 1 part of silane coupling agent;
the inactive continuous phase comprises the following components in parts by weight: 20 to 50 parts of water, 1 to 4 parts of flatting powder, 0.5 to 1 part of talcum powder, 40 to 80 parts of third emulsion and 0.3 to 1 part of silane coupling agent;
wherein the first emulsion, the second emulsion, and the third emulsion are each independently selected from acrylate emulsions, and the first emulsion and the third emulsion and the lithium magnesium silicate based protective gum are not reactive, the second emulsion and the lithium magnesium silicate based protective gum are reactive; the self-thickening continuous phase does not contain the lithium magnesium silicate-based protective gum; the self-thickening multicolor paint does not contain an alkali swelling thickener;
the preparation method of the self-thickening multicolor paint comprises the following steps:
mixing and granulating the base paint and the granulating liquid to prepare the color dots;
mixing said color point with said self-thickening continuous phase for thickening;
mixing the non-reactive continuous phase with the color point that has been mixed thickened and the self-thickening continuous phase.
2. The self-thickening multicolor paint as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base paint is present in an amount of 30 to 50 parts by mass; the granulation liquid is 15 to 25 parts by weight; the self-thickening continuous phase accounts for 10-30 parts by mass; the mass portion of the inactive continuous phase is 10-30.
3. The self-thickening multicolor paint of claim 1, wherein the first emulsion is a pure acrylic emulsion; the second emulsion and the third emulsion are each independently a silicone-acrylic emulsion.
4. The self-thickening multicolor paint of claim 1, wherein the matting powder is a silica prepared by a vapor phase process.
5. The self-thickening multicolor paint of claim 1, wherein the base paint further comprises at least one of a first dispersant, a bactericide, a defoamer, a film-forming aid, hollow glass microspheres, and an antifreeze;
the granulating liquid also comprises a bactericide;
the self-thickening continuous phase also comprises at least one of a second dispersing agent, a substrate wetting agent, a film-forming auxiliary agent, an antifreezing agent, a defoaming agent and a bactericide;
the inactive continuous phase further comprises at least one of a third dispersant, a substrate wetting agent, a film forming aid, an antifreeze, a defoamer and a bactericide.
6. The self-thickening multicolor paint as claimed in claim 5, wherein the base paint contains 0.2 to 0.5 parts by mass of the first dispersant;
and/or the mass portion of the bactericide is 0.05 to 0.2;
and/or the mass part of the defoaming agent is 0.05 to 0.2;
and/or the mass portion of the film-forming additive is 1-3;
and/or the hollow glass bead is 0.5-1.2 parts by mass;
and/or 0.5-2 parts of antifreezing agent.
7. The self-thickening multicolor paint according to claim 5, wherein the mass portion of the second dispersant in the self-thickening continuous phase is 1-4;
and/or the base material wetting agent is 0.05 to 0.2 part by mass;
and/or the mass portion of the film-forming additive is 2-4;
and/or the mass portion of the antifreezing agent is 1-2.5;
and/or the mass part of the defoaming agent is 0.05 to 0.2;
and/or the mass portion of the bactericide is 0.05 to 0.2.
8. The self-thickening multicolor paint as claimed in claim 5, wherein the mass portion of the third dispersant in the inactive continuous phase is 1 to 4;
and/or the base material wetting agent is 0.05 to 0.2 part by mass;
and/or the mass portion of the film-forming additive is 2 to 4;
and/or the mass part of the antifreezing agent is 1-2.5;
and/or the mass part of the defoaming agent is 0.05 to 0.2;
and/or the mass portion of the bactericide is 0.05 to 0.2.
9. The self-thickening multicolor paint of any one of claims 5 to 8, wherein the lithium magnesium silicate-based protective gum is selected from at least one of GTS, LAPONITE RD and LAPONITE S482;
and/or, the cellulose is selected from at least one of Natrosol HE 3KB, Natrosol 250HBR and EBS 481 FQ;
and/or the silane coupling agent is selected from at least one of modified methoxy silane and ethoxy silane;
and/or the first dispersant is at least one selected from polyacrylic acid sodium salt dispersant and polyacrylic acid ammonium salt dispersant;
and/or the second dispersant is selected from organic dispersants containing pigment affinity groups;
and/or the defoaming agent is selected from at least one of a mineral oil defoaming agent and an organic silicon defoaming agent;
and/or the bactericide is a kasong bactericide.
10. Use of the self-thickening multicolor paint of any one of claims 1 to 9 for the preparation of architectural decorations.
