Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of eucalyptus urophylla cultivation, in particular to a method for dwarfing and flower promoting of eucalyptus urophylla.
Background
The eucalyptus plant belongs to the eucalyptus family of the myrtaceae, is one of afforestation tree species (poplar, eucalyptus and pine) in the world, has the advantages of strong adaptability, short cultivation period, wide application, high economic value and the like, and is one of important strategic tree species in the south of China. The eucalyptus urophylla has the characteristics of high growth speed, straight dry shape and the like, and becomes an important afforestation tree species and a preferable tree species of a hybrid parent in China. However, the characteristics of the tall and big trunk of the eucalyptus urophylla greatly limit the work of pollen collection, artificial control pollination, fruit collection and the like, and greatly obstruct the work of genetic improvement of the eucalyptus urophylla.
At present, dwarfing of eucalyptus urophylla parents is realized to a certain extent by technologies such as pruning, water control and fertilizer control. However, the small number of flowering branches and buds in the eucalyptus urophylla breeding garden is an important limiting factor for limiting the genetic improvement of the eucalyptus urophylla. Therefore, the study on the dwarfing and flower-promoting technology of the eucalyptus urophylla parent has important significance for breeding a new eucalyptus line with fast growth, high quality and strong stress resistance.

Note: the fertilizer application in table 2 shows that, in addition to paclobutrazol, a compound fertilizer (the compound fertilizer is purchased from norwegian international ltd., the mass ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements is 15:15:15) is applied, and the application amount of the compound fertilizer per plant is 8.33g/cm (the application amount per plant is 250g) in terms of the diameter of the eucalyptus urophylla.
Selecting 54 clones of eucalyptus urophylla which grow uniformly and are planted in seedling raising containers with the same specification, and measuring indexes such as seedling height, ground diameter, crown width, number of new sprout trees, number of flowering branches, number of flowering buds, length of new branches and the like by taking 3 clones after 12 months of treatment; measuring the height, the crown width and the length of a new branch by using a graduated scale; the ground diameter is measured with a vernier caliper.
The data were analyzed in Microsoft Excel 2010, R language. The analysis of variance is used for testing the influence of different treatments on indexes such as seedling height, ground diameter, crown width, number of new-bud trees, number of flowering branches, number of flowering buds, length of new branches and the like of the female parent of the eucalyptus urophylla.
The tree height, ground diameter and crown width indexes of 54 eucalyptus urophylla parents before and after treatment are subjected to variance analysis, and the results are shown in table 3.
TABLE 3 analysis of variance between different traits
Figure BDA0003359568720000071
Note: the treatments in table 3 were 16 different treatments as described in table 2 above, the block indicated 3 replicate measurements for each treatment, the tree height 1911 was the tree height measured in 11 months in 2019, the tree height 2011 was the tree height measured in 11 months in 2020, and the same applies to the other properties, as well as table 4.
Multiple comparative analysis of different properties of the eucalyptus urophylla among different dwarfing treatments shows that the results are shown in table 4; the correlation between different dwarfing treatments was analyzed and the results are shown in Table 5.
TABLE 4 multiple comparative analysis between different dwarfing treatments

Figure BDA0003359568720000081
TABLE 5 correlation analysis between different dwarfing treatments
Figure BDA0003359568720000082
As can be seen from Table 3, the difference between the indexes before treatment is not significant, and the indexes of the tree height and the crown width after treatment respectively reach significant levels (P is less than or equal to 0.05). In addition, the number of new sprouts, the length of new branches and the increment of crown width after treatment also reach obvious and extremely obvious levels (P is less than or equal to 0.01), which indicates that different paclobutrazol dwarfing treatments have strong influence on the growth condition of the eucalyptus urophylla parents, and the difference between the ground diameters does not reach the obvious level (P is 0.053).
As can be seen from table 4, there was a significant difference in seedling height increment between treatments. Wherein the seedling height increment is the treatment 11 which is 90cm at most; the minimum was treatment 13, which was only 1.67 cm. The largest increase in ground diameter was treatment 4 (0.5 g + fertilization for 1 application of roots) which was 16.92 mm; the next treatment was 11(2 root applications, 1.5 g/application) and was 16.39 mm. The minimum was treatment 14(3 times, root application, 2 g/time, 1g root application +1g leaf application) at 2.58 mm. The highest increase in crown width was the control treatment of 58cm and the smallest was treatment 4 of only 6.67cm, indicating that paclobutrazol treatment promoted trunk growth and limited collateral development.
The new shoot length difference between different treatments is large. The longest new shoot length is control treatment (CK), and the length is 54.6 cm; the shortest is treatment 6(3 root applications, 1g each time), which indicates that paclobutrazol has strong inhibitory effect on the development of new branches. In addition, different treatments have a great impact on the number of flowers. After 12 months of treatment, none of treatments 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11 and 12 produced flowering shoots, while the remaining initial stages showed different numbers of flowering shoots. The most numerous flowering branches were treated 16(1 time, root application, 2 g/time), followed by 14(1 time, root application + leaf application, 2 g/time, 1g root application +1g leaf application). Moreover, the number of buds also showed a different state between the treatments. The most numerous buds reached 300 flowers/plant for treatments 16(1, root application, 2 g/application) and 9(4, root application + foliar application, 1.5 g/application, 1g root application +0.5g foliar application). The least number of buds was treated 10(3 times, root application + fertilization, 1.5 g/time). Nevertheless, the average number of flowers per bouquet varied between treatments. For example, the number of flowers treated with 9 was the highest, 30 flowers/branch. The same treatment 16 as the total amount of flowers was only 7.89 flowers/shoot.
Correlation analysis was performed on the amount of paclobutrazol applied in a single application, the number of applications, the total amount of applications, and indicators such as clonal growth and flower amount of eucalyptus urophylla (table 5). The results show that the length of new branches is in extremely significant negative correlation with the total amount of paclobutrazol application (r ═ 0.67 and P ═ 0), in significant negative correlation with the increase of tree height (r ═ 0.55 and P ═ 0.03), and in significant positive correlation with the total number of buds and the number of single-branch buds (r ═ 0.53 and P ═ 0.03), and that the application of paclobutrazol can lead to the inhibition of the growth traits of eucalyptus urophylla and greatly promotes the increase of the number of buds. The amount of paclobutrazol applied in a single application is obviously positively correlated with the number of flowering branches (r is 0.56, and P is 0.03), the total number of buds (r is 0.56, and P is 0.02), and is obviously negatively correlated with the length of new branches (r is-0.62, and P is 0.01), and the result is similar to the result of total application, which indicates that the amount of paclobutrazol applied is an important factor influencing the flowering of the eucalyptus urophylla. The application times are obviously negatively correlated with the increase of the tree height (r is-0.6, and P is 0.05), are negatively correlated with the increase of the ground diameter and the increase of the crown width, and have no correlation with the number of the flowering branches and the total number of the flower buds.
Considering factors such as tree height increment, new branch length, flower branch number and flower bud number comprehensively, the method for treating 9, 13, 14 and 16 is a suitable method for dwarfing and promoting flowers of eucalyptus urophylla; the flower amount of 9 and 14 treated flowers is medium, and the number of new sprouts is large; however, the application times are more, and the workload is larger; the height increment of 13 trees is minimum, the number of new sprouts is maximum, the flower quantity is large, soil is applied for 4 times, and the workload is large; the number of treated 16 flowering branches is the largest, the flower amount is the largest, the soil is applied for 1 time, the workload is small, and the treated group 16 has the largest tree height increment, but the problem can be solved by post pruning. The best application method is to treat 16 (2 g of paclobutrazol in 1 application) in combination with the material cost and the labor cost.
In conclusion, the various schemes for applying paclobutrazol provided by the invention can improve the high flowering branch quantity and the bud quantity of the eucalyptus urophylla and simultaneously realize dwarfing of the eucalyptus urophylla.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, it should be understood that various changes and modifications can be made therein by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
