Description

Device for fixing drawers
Technical Field
The invention relates to a device for fixing a drawer to a movable rail of a pull-out guide, which device has a support fixed to the drawer, against which the movable rail of the pull-out guide can be placed with a contact surface, the support and/or the contact surface being penetrated by a movable pawl and the support and the movable rail being surrounded by a U-shaped section of a holder.
Background
WO 2012/068594 discloses a coupling device for a drawer in which a latch member is provided for releasably coupling the drawer to an extendable rail. The latch member is releasable via the handle member. In this regard, the latch member includes a U-shaped receptacle with a spring tab on the latch member having a rigid rib to reduce the flexibility of the spring tab. However, a disadvantage of a stop member made of plastic is that the plastic can flow and change its original shape when loaded. This can affect the strength of the coupling device required over a long period of time.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device for fixing a drawer to a movable rail of a pull-out guide, which device ensures a firm fixation even over a long period of time.
This object is solved by a device having the following features.
In the device according to the invention, the support and the movable rail are surrounded by a U-shaped portion of the holder, which is reinforced against bending by means of a metal reinforcing member. Thus, the U-shaped portion may be better protected from deformation, which adversely affects the retention force of the connection between the movable rail and the support. Experiments carried out by the applicant have shown that by using metal reinforcing members for additional reinforcement of the U-shaped section, the retention of the connection is ensured against tearing, even over a long period of time. In this regard, if the rail has two longitudinally offset openings for latching the rail to the pawl, different mounting positions may be provided depending on the structure of the drawer at the front panel and the holding forces that the connection must withstand. The arrangement of two longitudinally offset openings also allows the drawer to be preassembled to the rail and then in a second assembly step the drawer can be secured to the movable rail in the final assembly position.
Preferably, the metal reinforcing member is also U-shaped and encloses a portion of the support and a portion of the movable track. The metal reinforcing member may be made of a bent steel plate or a steel wire. In this regard, the metal reinforcing member may optionally be embedded in the U-shaped section, for example as an injection molded insert. However, for assembly, the metal reinforcing member is preferably inserted onto the U-shaped section and in a receptacle, which may comprise a channel-shaped channel and/or a through hole.
Preferably, the retainer comprises a molded plastic member having a U-shaped portion, the slot-shaped receptacle being formed on the molded plastic member. Then, a portion of the movable rail and a portion of the support (both of which are formed in a bar shape and abut each other in the slot-shaped receptacle) are inserted into the slot-shaped receptacle. Movement of the two components relative to each other is prevented by a pawl engaged by at least one of the support and the track or both the support and the track. The pawl thereby forms a blocking element to prevent movement of the rail relative to the support.
In a first variant, the pawl is formed integrally with the support. In this case, the pawl may be formed by a bendable portion of the support and may be formed as a protrusion, for example, by deformation. The support may be formed of a bent metal plate. Alternatively or additionally, the pawl may be integrally formed with a transversely-movable track extending through an aperture in the support.
In another embodiment, the pawl is pivotally mounted on the holder and engaged by a first aperture on the support and a second aperture on the movable rail to prevent them from moving relative to each other. A plurality of pawls may also be provided to secure the movable rail to the support. The pawl may also be biased into the protruding position by a spring.

Detailed Description
The drawer 1 comprises a bottom 2 arranged between two side frames 3. Below the bottom 2, on the opposite side, a pull-out guide 4 is provided, which comprises a rail 5 movable with the drawer 1 and one or more further rails movable relative to each other. At the end of the movable rail 5, a holder 7 is provided for connecting the rail 5 to the support 6 on the side frame 3.
In fig. 2A, the side frames 3 of the drawer 1 are shown together with the rails 5 of the pull-out guide 4. As can be seen from the detailed view of fig. 2B, the movable rail 5 rests with a vertical web on a support 6 made of bent sheet metal. The contact surfaces on the rail 5 and the support 6 are in the form of bars.
In the region of the contact surface, the rail 5 has two openings 51 and 52, at least one opening 51 being traversed by the pawl 10 to fix the rail 5 to the support 6. The abutment contact surfaces on the support 6 and the rail 5 are surrounded by a U-shaped portion of the holder 7, wherein an arm 8 is visible, which arm abuts a portion of the rail 5 and is arranged parallel to the longitudinal direction of the rail 5.
A slot-shaped receptacle 9 is also provided on the support 6 to receive the edge of the bottom 2 of the drawer 1. In this regard, the support 6 may extend over the entire length of the side frame 3 or may be shorter and comprise a plurality of spaced apart sections.
In fig. 2C, the holder 7 is shown in an assembled position, in which the U-shaped portion encloses the web of the rail 5 and the web of the support 6. In an embodiment, the track 5 comprises a recess for exposing the holder 7. The recess may also be omitted so that the rail 5 is step-free at the end face.
Fig. 3A and 3B show the side frames without the rails 5. The holder 7 is inserted into a slot-shaped receptacle on the holder 7, the pawl 10 being formed integrally with the support 6. The pawl 10 is formed by punching a protrusion provided on the flexible web 11. The flexible web 11 is separated from the rest of the material of the support 6 by a slot 12 so that the pawl 10 can spring open to a certain extent during assembly to latch the pawl 10 into one of the openings 51 or 52 on the rail 5. The support 6 is made of bent metal plate.
Fig. 4 shows the mounting of the holder 7 on the support 6. The holder 7 is fitted on the support 6 in the longitudinal direction of the rail 5, wherein the end portion of the support 6 is inserted into a slot-shaped receptacle 14 on the U-shaped portion of the holder 7. The end portion of the support 6 is thus arranged between the arms 8 and the counter bearing 80 on the holder 7, which in the embodiment shown is made of plastic, but in the region of the U-shaped portion has a reinforcing insert made of metal, which is not visible from the outside. The stiffening insert causes the arm 8 to bend less relative to the counter support 80 and ensures that the arm 8 moves back to its original position after bending.
Fig. 5 shows a modified embodiment of the holder 7, which comprises a molded plastic member having a U-shaped portion and a slot-shaped receptacle 14 formed thereon. To strengthen the U-shaped section, a metallic reinforcing member 20 made of bent strip steel or spring steel is provided to surround the arm 8. The stiffening member 20 has a web 21 which rests on the outside of the arm 8 and surrounds the arm with a tip 22. The metal reinforcing member 20 includes a base portion 23 formed substantially perpendicular to the web 21, and another web 24 supported on the retainer 7 also extends perpendicularly from the base portion. When the arm 8 is loaded by the rail 5 and the support 6, the metallic reinforcing member 20 prevents or limits the movement of the arm. The metal reinforcing member 20 may be slid onto the molded plastic part from the outside and secured in a clamping and/or latching manner.
Fig. 6 shows a modified embodiment of the holder 7, in which a metal reinforcing member 30 made of metal wire is provided. The metal reinforcing member 30 includes a base portion 32 and two legs 31 and 33 extending substantially parallel to each other. In this regard, the legs 31 support the arm 8 on the outside and the legs 33 are supported on the passages of the molded part of the holder 7. The reinforcing member 30 formed of wire may be mounted on the molding along the longitudinal direction of the rail 5.
Fig. 7 shows another embodiment of a holder 7 with a plastic molded part on which a reinforcement member 30 is arranged, as already shown with reference to fig. 6. In the exploded view of fig. 7, it can be seen that the plastic molded part has a channel-shaped receptacle 34 for the stiffening member 30 and a through-hole for the leg 33 on the intermediate wall 35. Thus, the reinforcing member 30 can be fixed to the plastic molded part without being lost.
Furthermore, a pivot lever 40 is provided, which is pivotably mounted on the holder 7 via a bearing element 42. The pivot lever 40 comprises a detent 41 formed as a projection, which detent is arranged in the region of the slot-shaped receptacle 14 on the holder 7. The pivot lever 40 is biased into the protruding position via a spring 43.
Fig. 8 shows the assembled position of the pivot lever 40 and pawl 41. When the movable rail 5 and the support 6 are mounted, the pawl 41 protrudes into the slot-shaped receptacle 14 and the pivot lever 40 is able to pivot against the force of the spring 43 and then lock against the openings 51, 52 on the rail 5 and the opening on the support 6.
Instead of mechanically fixing the reinforcing members 20 and 30 made of metal, they may also be embedded in a molded part made of plastic on the holder 7, for example, over-molded. Furthermore, several reinforcing members 20 and 30 may be provided on the holder 7.
Fig. 9A to 9D schematically show the mounting of the movable rail 5 of the pull-out guide on the U-shaped holder 7.
In fig. 9A, the rail 5 is located in front of the arms 8 of the holder 7, and the wall portion of the rail 5 is pressed against the pawl 10 which has been pivoted on the bendable web 11. As shown in fig. 9B, when the rail 5 is moved further along the holder 7 towards the front panel 13, the end portions enter the slot-shaped receptacles 14 of the U-shaped holder 7. In addition, the pawl 10 latches onto the opening 52 of the rail 5. In this latching position, the rail 5 is preassembled to the U-shaped holder 7. This location may be used for transportation purposes, for example.
Fig. 9C shows the position when the rail 5 is further inserted into the slot-shaped receptacle 14 of the holder 7. Contact with the rising ramp on the pawl 10 causes it to deflect again and press against the wall portion of the track 5, as indicated by the arrow. In this position the rail 5 is pressed against the arm 8 as indicated by the second arrow. The arm 8 is supported by a reinforcing member 20.
The rail 5 can now be pushed further into the holder 7 until the pawl 10 engages the second opening 51, as shown in fig. 9D. Thus, the pawl 10 is no longer pressed against the rail 5 and the arm 8 can pivot backwards, the pivoting movement being assisted by the force from the stiffening member 20 on the arm 8.
