Abstract
An improved paddle racquet is described. The improved paddle racquet may contain an enlarged sweet spot provided by a grid of interlaced strings on the racquet surface (e.g., similar to strings on a tennis racquet). The improved cricket comprises: a handle (e.g., a handle having an ergonomic design that provides the feel of a conventional paddle racquet handle); and a frame having the general shape of a conventional paddle racquet, wherein strings are threaded onto the frame to provide a surface for striking the ball, the surface having an enlarged sweet spot (e.g., the entire surface of the stringing area may be considered as the sweet spot as compared to the relatively smaller sweet spot of a conventional paddle racquet).
Description
Technical Field
Some implementations relate generally to sports equipment, and more particularly, to paddle rackets.
Background
Cricket is a very popular sport in many countries, including australia, new zealand and india (and some other countries in southeast asia, to name a few). One problem faced with cricket sports is that conventional cricket is designed to be used with hard cricket. Partly due to their traditional equipment, cricket can only be played on open fields where hard balls do not damage property for practical reasons. Also, when playing a cricket using conventional equipment, the cricket may require the player to wear protective equipment to avoid being injured by the hard ball.
In view of the above limitations, some unconventional or alternative ways of playing a cricket have been developed. For example, one unconventional approach to cricket involves the use of tennis balls (or similar balls, but may be heavy). However, tennis may not be able to go far or be hit. It may be desirable for the cricket batter to have great skill to be able to slap tennis using a conventional cricket.
In view of the above limitations, some embodiments have been conceived.
Disclosure of Invention
Some embodiments may include an improved paddle racquet with an enlarged sweet spot provided by a grid of interlaced strings on the racquet surface (e.g., similar to strings on a tennis racquet).
The improved paddle racket solves several problems or limitations of the conventional paddle racket, and is suitable for All Ages (the applicant of the present application registered the trade mark "Ball games for All Ages" at the us patent and trademark office, seehttps://eog-tmng.uspto.gov/#/issueDate=2020- 04-07&serialNumber=88695262). In one aspect, the increased sweet spot of the improved paddle racquet may make it easier for novice or casual players to enjoy the game before gaining the level of skill that may be required to play a paddle ball with conventional equipment. This may make a new player more likely to hit a six point stroke (equivalent to a full base hit in baseball) and generally not frustrated by the lack of traditional cricket hitting skills while enjoying the game. Furthermore, cricket games played with the improved racquet may be played on traditional cricket courts or on more limited areas (e.g., streets or open spaces). The improved racquet is designed to allow the batter to play more easily and feel well while playing the game.
Drawings
FIG. 1 is an isometric view of an example improved paddle racquet according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of an example improved paddle racquet according to the invention.
Fig. 3 is a side view of an example improved paddle racquet according to the invention.
Detailed Description
As shown in fig. 1-3, the improved cricket comprises a handle 102, an open frame portion 103, a transition section 104, a string 106, an end 108, and an aperture 110 in the open frame portion 103. The string 106 passes through the open frame portion 103 by passing through an aperture 110 in the open frame portion 103.
The handle 102 includes an ergonomic design that can be easily grasped and fluidly joined to the open frame portion 103 via the transition section 104. The handle 102 may also be configured to have an elongated rectangular shape, similar to a conventional paddle racquet handle. The transition section 104 may include an opening 105 between the handle 102 and the open frame portion 103.
The end 108 may be formed so as to be relatively heavy and thick to permit a batter to beat the racquet on the ground and also to provide more control when hitting the ball.
Fig. 2 and 3 also show exemplary dimensions of an improved paddle racquet according to an example of the invention.
It should be understood that the dimensions shown in fig. 2 and 3 are for illustration purposes only. Other dimensions may be used.
Although the disclosed subject matter has been described in conjunction with embodiments, it is evident that many alternatives, modifications, and variations will be or are apparent to those skilled in the applicable arts. Accordingly, applicants intend to embrace all such alternatives, modifications, equivalents, and variations that are within the spirit and scope of the disclosed subject matter.
Claims (1)
1. A paddle racquet, comprising:
a handle joined to an open frame portion having a generally elongated rectangular shape similar to a conventional paddle racquet; and
