Abstract

Bucket Stickball Abstract This invention introduces a new form of a stick and ball game that involves a bucket. The purpose of the game is to successfully throw a ball at ground level into a far away bucket using a stick. The lower end of the stick is in a suitable form that enables the ball to be thrown into the bucket. The game can be played by a single player or by multiple teams consisting of one or more players. Scoring in the game and team-playing aspects of the game can be based on similar stick and ball games such as golf, lacrosse, baseball, or cricket. The game can be played in indoors or outdoors. Description

Bucket Stickball
Games involving sticks and balls date back to at least 1750s1 and they are very popular in today’s society. Such sticks and balls games and their variants include golf, baseball, lacrosse, and cricket. One particular form is a street game called Stickball. The equipment in Stickball consists of a broom handle and a rubber ball with the rules coming from baseball2. In the Stickball game, there are no buckets involved and the players hit the ball usually at the chest level for another player to catch.
The invention in this patent specification introduces a new form of a stick and ball game that involves a bucket. This new game is called Bucket Stickball. The purpose of this game is to successfully throw a ball at ground level into a far-away bucket using a stick. The lower end of the stick is in a suitable form that enables the ball to be thrown into the bucket.
The invention may be better understood with reference to the illustrations labelled as Figure 1 and 2 respectively.
Figure 1 is a view of the stick. The player holds the stick through the handle 1 and the body 2. The player hits the ball with the lower end of the stick 3.
Figure 2 is an illustration of how the game is played. Player 4 hits the ball 6 using the stick 5. The goal of the player is to insert the ball into the bucket 8 through trajectory 7.
The game can be played in indoors or outdoors. The game can be played in areas specifically designed for bucket stickball or it can be played in existing game areas for golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, cricket, or similar games.
The game can be played by a single player or by multiple teams consisting of one or more players. Scoring in the game and team-playing details can be based on similar sticks and balls games.
