Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of connectors, and particularly relates to a sealing element, a plug fixing part using the sealing element and a connector assembly.
Background
As the connector used in communication or other fields is more and more, but whatever the field, if used in outdoor environment, generally requires the connector to have the most basic sealing function, please refer to fig. 1, and the sealing mainly refers to two aspects: 1. sealing between the plug securing portion and the device; 2. the plug connector and the plug fixing part are directly sealed. The sealing device has the advantages that the sealing device can be used for sealing a plug fixing part and equipment, and sealing between a plug connector and the plug fixing part are independent from each other, and at least two sealing parts are needed to ensure the sealing function of a product.
The sealing mode in the prior art has the following problems that firstly, the sealing piece and the equipment or the plug-in shell are mutually independent, the sealing piece is generally a rubber super-elastomer and is an independent part, and the sealing piece is required to be arranged in a shell groove for use through glue or other modes when in use, so that the assembly is troublesome or the use is in danger of falling off. At the same time, this sealing method results in the need for at least two seals when sealing the connector with the device, which results in a certain cost.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a sealing member capable of simultaneously sealing between a plug fixing portion and a device and between a plug connector and the plug fixing portion, and also to provide a plug fixing portion and a connector assembly using the sealing member.
The sealing element provided by the invention comprises a sealing element body 301, wherein at least one flange 305 is arranged on the sealing element body 301, and the flange 305 is used for realizing the fixation between the sealing element and a plug fixing part 2; the sealing member body 301 is provided with a first sealing protrusion 302 for sealing between the plug fixing portion 2 and the device panel 4 when the header is plugged, and is further provided with a second sealing protrusion 303 for sealing between the plug connector 1 and the plug fixing portion 2.
Preferably, the sealing member body 301 is further provided with a third sealing protrusion 304 for sealing an end portion of the plug fixing portion.
Preferably, the first sealing protrusion 302 has one of an arc shape, a polygonal shape, a trapezoidal shape and an irregular shape, and the second sealing protrusion 303 has one of an arc shape, a polygonal shape, a trapezoidal shape and an irregular shape in cross section.
Preferably, the first sealing projection 302 has the same contour as the sealing area of the plug housing 201.
Preferably, the inner edge of the second sealing projection 303 has the same contour as the sealing area of the plug connector 1.
The invention also provides a plug fixing part, which comprises an inserting casing 201 and a sealing element 3 arranged on the inserting casing 201, wherein the sealing element 3 is the sealing element, at least one mounting groove 203 used for being matched with the flange 305 to prevent the sealing element 3 from being ejected out when the head seat is inserted oppositely is arranged on the inserting casing 201, and the sealing element 3 and the inserting casing 201 are of an integral or split structure.
Preferably, the sealing member 3 is integrally formed with the plug-in housing 201 by a two-shot injection molding or two-shot injection molding process.
Preferably, the sealing member 3 is mounted on the plug housing 201 by means of bonding or interference fit.
The invention also provides a connector assembly, which comprises a plug connector 1 and a plug fixing part 2 matched with the plug connector 1, wherein the plug fixing part is the plug fixing part; the plug connector 1 is provided with a sealing surface 102 which cooperates with the sealing element 3 to achieve a sealing effect.
The invention has the following advantages:
1. according to the sealing element and the connector assembly using the sealing element, the sealing protrusion is arranged on the sealing element, so that when the head base is plugged in, not only can sealing between the plug fixing part and equipment be realized, but also sealing between the plug connector and the plug fixing part can be realized.
2. In the connector assembly, the sealing element and the plug inserting shell are of an integral structure, so that the assembling step between two parts in the assembling process of the connector assembly is omitted, the risk of sealing failure caused by falling off between the sealing element and the inserting shell due to degumming and the like when the connector assembly is used is avoided, the product quality can be obviously improved, and the product processing cost can be reduced.

To further illustrate the technical means and effects of the present invention adopted to achieve the intended purpose, the following detailed description is given to a sealing member and a plug fixing portion and a connector assembly using the same according to the present invention, with reference to the accompanying drawings and preferred embodiments, and the detailed description is given to the following.
The end of the plug fixing portion 2 close to the device panel 4 is defined as a front end, and the end of the plug connector 1 close to the device panel 4 is defined as a front end.
A connector assembly comprises a plug connector 1, a plug fixing part 2 matched with the plug connector 1 and a socket, wherein a contact element is installed in the plug connector 1, and a sealing element 3 is installed at the front end of the plug fixing part 2. The plug fixing section 2 includes a plug housing 201, and a cavity 205 is formed in the plug housing 201.
The front end of the plug housing 201 is folded outwards to form a protruding edge 202, and when the plug housing is installed, the protruding edge 202 is fixed on the control panel 4 by screws or other methods, and the front end of the plug fixing part 2 is provided with a receiving groove 204 for installing the sealing element 3. The front end of the plug connector 1 is provided with a mating end 101 for mating with a socket, and the outer wall of the mating end 101 forms a sealing surface 102 for cooperating with the sealing member 3. In use, the plug fixing part 2 is mounted on the equipment panel 4, the socket is mounted on one side of the equipment panel 4, namely, in the equipment, and the sealing member 3 is pressed against the sealing surface 102 so as to realize sealing between the plug connector 1 and the plug fixing part 2.
The sealing element 3 includes a sealing element body 301, the sealing element body 301 is annular, please refer to fig. 4 and 5, at least one flange 305 is disposed on an outer wall of the sealing element body 301, in this embodiment, the top and bottom outer walls of the sealing element body 301 are respectively provided with the flange 305, and a first step surface 306 is formed between the flange 305 and the outer wall of the sealing element body 301.
In this embodiment, the flange 305 is cylindrical, but in other embodiments of the invention, the flange 305 may be rectangular, conical, or other shapes; the convex edge 202 is provided with at least one mounting groove 203 for being matched with the flange 305, and the mounting groove 203 extends along the radial direction of the convex edge 202; in this embodiment, the mounting groove 203 is a hole, but in other embodiments of the present invention, the mounting groove 203 may also be a groove or other structures. In the invention, the flange 305 is matched with the mounting groove 203, so that the sealing element 3 is fixed with the plug fixing part 2, and the sealing element 3 is prevented from being ejected out by the inserting end 101 to fall off when the head base is inserted oppositely.
Referring to fig. 5 and 8, a first sealing protrusion 302 protruding leftward is disposed on the left side surface of the sealing member body 301, a second sealing protrusion 303 extending in a direction away from the flange 305 is disposed on the inner wall of the sealing member body 301, a third sealing protrusion 304 extending rightward is disposed on the right side surface of the sealing member body 301, and a second step surface 307 is formed between the second sealing protrusion 303 and the inner wall of the sealing member body 301.
In this embodiment, the cross-sections of the first sealing protrusion 302, the second sealing protrusion 303 and the third sealing protrusion 304 are arc-shaped; of course, in other embodiments of the present invention, the cross-sections of the first sealing protrusion 302, the second sealing protrusion 303, and the third sealing protrusion 304 may also be polygonal, trapezoidal, irregular, or other shapes, please refer to fig. 6, in this embodiment, the cross-sections of the first sealing protrusion 302 and the second sealing protrusion 303 are semicircular, and the cross-section of the third sealing protrusion 304 is square.
In order to achieve a better sealing effect, the first sealing protrusion 302 has the same contour as the sealing area of the plug housing 201, that is, in the present embodiment, the contour of the front end of the plug housing 201 is an octagon, and then the contour of the first sealing protrusion 302 is also an octagon, and the contours of the two are the same; the inner edge of the second sealing projection 303 has the same contour as the sealing area of the plug connector 1, i.e. the inner edge of the second sealing projection 303 has the same contour as the sealing surface 102; in the present embodiment, the sealing surface 102 has an octagonal profile, and the inner edge of the second sealing protrusion 303 has an octagonal profile.
The sealing element 3 and the plug insertion shell 201 are of an integral structure, namely the sealing element 3 and the plug insertion shell 201 can be manufactured into a part through a forming process, and during processing, the sealing element 3 and the plug insertion shell 201 are formed simultaneously by adopting a process mode of secondary injection molding or double-shot injection molding and the like; of course, the sealing member 3 and the plug housing 201 are two separate parts, and in use, the sealing member 3 and the plug housing 201 are assembled together by means of adhesion or interference fit.
Referring to fig. 8, in assembly, taking the sealing member 3 and the plug insertion housing 201 as two independent parts, for example, the sealing member 3 is installed in the receiving groove 204, the flange 305 is installed in the installation groove 203, the plug fixing portion 2 is installed on the device panel 4, then the plug connector 1 is installed on the plug fixing portion 2, the insertion end 101 of the plug connector 1 is inserted into the socket through the cavity 205, at this time, the first step surface 306 is pressed against the inner wall of the convex edge 202, and the second step surface 307 is pressed against the sealing surface 102 of the plug connector 1. Meanwhile, the first sealing protrusion 302 abuts against the device panel 4 to achieve sealing between the plug fixing portion 2 and the device panel 4, the second sealing protrusion 303 abuts against the sealing surface 102 of the plug connector 1 to achieve sealing between the plug fixing portion 2 and the plug connector 1, and the third sealing protrusion 304 abuts against a side wall of the accommodating groove 204, and particularly when the installation groove 203 is provided in a through hole shape, sealing of the installation groove 203 can be achieved by the third sealing protrusion 304.
According to the sealing element and the connector assembly using the sealing element, the sealing bulge is arranged on the sealing element, so that when the sealing element is plugged, not only can the sealing between the plug fixing part and equipment be realized, but also the sealing between the plug connector and the plug fixing part can be realized.
The sealing element and the plug inserting shell are of an integral structure, the assembly between the sealing element and the plug inserting shell is not needed, and the plug inserting shell can be directly installed with equipment when in use.
