Description

Telescopic sliding guide with drawer inclination and horizontal position adjusting device
The present invention relates to a height adjustment system for sliding drawers or shelves. In particular, the invention relates to an improved telescopic guide for a drawer or shelf, of the type comprising means for adjusting the height position of the drawer relative to both the seating portion of the drawer and to the other drawer or shelf.
Furniture items or cabinets are known to be provided with drawers or shelves that in some modes are horizontally slidable and removable. The drawer or shelf may have integral guides, such as classical slots on the sides, or it may be mounted on two linear guides fixed to the wall of the furniture item. The drawer or shelf is restrained to the guide to prevent it from disengaging in a vertical direction or from accidentally disengaging.
The guide is typically a precision device that allows fine adjustment of the drawer position.
In EP1621107, the drawer can thus be moved laterally in order to allow adjustment of the horizontal height of the drawer and accurate spacing from other drawers and from the sides of the furniture item. For height adjustment, a rotating disk 31 is provided, the rotating disk 31 having a flat surface to support the drawer. With the lever 33, the tray 31 can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise to raise or lower the tray 31, thereby adjusting the height of the drawer in the vertical direction. The lever is inconvenient to use because it terminates just below the drawer and is included in a cumbersome mechanism. EP1621107 does not have an adjustment mechanism for the horizontal position of the drawer.
The main object of the present invention is to improve this state of the art, which is defined in the appended claims, wherein the dependent claims define advantageous variants.
Another object is to provide a guide of the above type, in which the vertical adjustment for drawers or shelves is simple to manufacture and easy to use during assembly.
Another object is to provide a guide of the above type, wherein the size of the vertical adjustment means is limited.
It is a further object to provide an improved assembly provided by a guide of the type described above and an associated drawer or shelf.
It is a further object to provide an improved sliding drawer or shelf associated with a guide of the type described above.
A telescopic guide is proposed for moving drawers or shelves linearly and horizontally with respect to furniture items, the guide comprising:
a first part which can be fixed on a piece of furniture, and
a second part that:
along the longitudinal axis of the tube is elongated,
is translatable along said axis relative to the fixable element, and
comprising a free end adapted to support a drawer or shelf, on which is mounted:
first means for adjusting the inclination of the drawer or shelf relative to the first part, and
a second means for adjusting the horizontal position of the drawer or shelf relative to the first part,
wherein the first means is arranged substantially along said axis.
The arrangement of the first means makes the guiding means lighter and more compact.
Preferably, the first adjustment means comprises an element movably mounted relative to said free end for movement along an axis perpendicular to said longitudinal axis and for tilting the drawer or shelf by means of an adjustable projection against the drawer or shelf.
The movably mounted element may for example be linearly movable or oscillate with respect to said free end.
In a variant, the element is mounted inside a through cavity of the free end so as to translate linearly in the cavity for protruding from the free end to rest against the bottom of a drawer or shelf.
More preferably, for ease of adjustment and to increase the precision and stability of the first adjustment means, the first adjustment means comprises an element rotatably mounted in said free end for protruding from said free end and for abutting against the bottom of the drawer or shelf by means of an adjustable protrusion.
Even more preferably, the rotatably mounted element and the through cavity are threaded in a complementary manner such that the element is movable by screwing.
For ease of construction, preferably the free end constitutes a separate piece mounted on the second part.
In a variant, the fixable first part is an L-shaped bracket and the second part comprises a sleeve elongated along said longitudinal axis and mounted for sliding on the edge of the L-shaped bracket, said free end being a separate piece mounted at the end of the sleeve for constituting an extension of the sleeve.
Preferably, the second adjustment means comprise a slide horizontally translatable on the projecting edge of said free end, the slide comprising fastening means for the drawer or shelf, so that the slide and the drawer or shelf are integral with each other. Alternatively, the second adjustment means may comprise a screw which is rotatable into said free end for moving the drawer or shelf horizontally.
Preferably, the drawer or shelf is made up of sections connected together, in particular a front section and three sections connected to each other in a C-shape. For example, the sections are hollow tubular elements, each section including an end with a 45 degree cut to mate with the ends of the other two of the sections.
Preferably, the three sections connected together like a C are hollow tubular elements, each section comprising an end with a 45 degree cut to match the ends of the other two sections, and the front section comprising a rigid wall equipped with two anchoring members projecting orthogonally from the rigid wall and each insertable in a respective cavity of a different section forming a C.
The advantages of the present invention will be more apparent from the following description of a preferred exemplary system with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 shows a three-dimensional view of a sliding drawer inserted into an article of furniture;
figures 2 and 3 show three-dimensional views from below the drawer;
figure 4 shows a vertical section view;
figure 5 shows a three-dimensional view of the components of the guide;
figure 6 shows a three-dimensional view of a sliding drawer inserted into an article of furniture and translatable on a guide;
in the drawings, like reference numerals designate identical or conceptually similar parts, and elements are described as if they were in use. Some reference numerals have been omitted in order not to crowde the drawings.
Fig. 1 and 6 show, in part, a side wall 10 of a furniture item or cabinet, inside which a sliding drawer or shelf 12 is mounted.
The sliding drawer or shelf 12 includes a frame having a front section 14, a bottom section 16, and two side sections 18. The sections 14, 16, 18 are tubular parts, for example, comprising ends with 45 degree cuts to mate with each other, and are assembled to form a generally rectangular or square frame. The bottom of the sliding drawer or shelf 12 is not shown for simplicity.
The side sections 18 are mounted to two linear guides 20, respectively, which guides 20 are identical in a specularly reflecting manner/mirrored and are fixed to the wall 10.
Each telescopic linear guide 20 comprises two parts 22, 24, the two parts 22, 24 being linearly translatable relative to each other. Part 22 is fixed and connectable/connected to wall 10, while part 24 is translatable relative to part 22 along its longitudinal axis X and connectable to one of sections 18. Thus, the sliding drawer or shelf 12 may be removed from the cabinet at the front.
Referring to fig. 2, 3 and 6, it can be seen that the sliding drawer or shelf 12 is mounted on the guide 20. Translatable part 24 comprises a metal sleeve. The metal sleeve is slidable on the fixed part 22 and comprises at the end an arm 26 made of, for example, plastic, on which arm 26 the sliding drawer or shelf 12 rests.
Arm 26 is preferably formed from a tail 84 and a head 86. The tail 84 is configured to be inserted inside the central cavity of the aforementioned metal sleeve 30 by interlocking longitudinally (along the X-axis) as an insert, while the head 86 protrudes from the sleeve 30 extending along the X-axis and is placed in proximity to the front section 14.
The head 86 on which the section 18 rests is equipped with a position adjustment mechanism for the drawer or shelf 12. The mechanism comprises adjustment means for the inclination of the drawer or shelf 12 with respect to the fixed part 24 and adjustment means for the horizontal position of the drawer or shelf 12 with respect to the fixed part 24.
The tilt adjustment means is located at the end of the arm 26 closest to the front section 14, i.e. on the head 86. The head 86 is provided with a vertical through-hole 82, the vertical through-hole 82 having a Z-axis orthogonal to the X-axis, in which vertical through-hole 82 the screw 80 can be screwed such that the tip of the screw 80 protrudes from the head 86 under the drawer or shelf 12. By threading more or less of the screw 80 into the threaded bore 82 (see fig. 4 and Z-axis), the end of the screw 80 may protrude more or less from the head 86 and lift more or less (see arrow F in fig. 4) the drawer or shelf 12 (or section 18). This allows adjustment of the inclination of the drawer or shelf 12.
It should be noted that the advantage of the arm 26 is that the adjustment means for the inclination of the drawer or shelf 12 are below the section 14, so that the adjustment means are not visible, even if, for example, the bottom of the drawer or shelf 12 is made of glass.
Note also that for compactness, screw 80 is substantially located on the X-axis, i.e. aligned with the length of part 24. Furthermore, the guide means is somewhat wider in the horizontal direction for the advantage of easy assembly.
An adjustment device for the horizontal position of the drawer or shelf 12 relative to the stationary part 24 is also arranged on the head 86.
Extending from the base of head 86 is a tab 88 which is horizontal in use (fig. 5). The fins 88 have a length arranged parallel to the X axis. A slider 90 (fig. 3) is slidably mounted on the tab 88 so as to be translatable on the tab 88 parallel to the X axis (see direction W).
The slider 90 is slidable on the tab 88 due to, for example, rotation of the gear 92. Preferably, the slider 90 includes an anchor element (not shown) for attachment to the drawer or shelf 12 to better pull the drawer or shelf 12. The section 18 is also mounted on the slide 90 and is integral with the slide 90 such that displacement of the slide 90 causes forward and backward movement of the drawer or shelf 12.
Thus, initial adjustment of the drawer or shelf 12 along the X-axis and Z-axis during assembly is possible due to the adjustment on the horizontal arm 26.
Preferably, the guide 20 includes a rear stop element (not shown) to prevent the drawer or shelf 12 from disengaging.
