Display driver with warning light function and mobile device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a warning light display device, and more particularly to a display driver with a warning light function and a mobile device with the display driver.
Background
The existing technology of never extinguishing the screen (Always On Display, AOD) is a function of displaying time, battery residual capacity, even incoming call information, push information and the like in a partial area of the screen when the mobile phone is in a panel screen-extinguishing state. In the state of AOD start, when the mobile phone receives the instant message transmitted by the application processor (Application Processer, AP), the instant message is also displayed in a partial area of the screen, and the user is easy to ignore the display of the instant message because the AOD related message is displayed on the original screen, so that the function of providing a warning lamp (Notification light) is provided, so that the warning lamp function is synchronously triggered to synchronously light a warning lamp signal on the panel to remind the user when the mobile phone receives the instant message transmitted by the AP when the mobile phone is in a standby state and the panel is in a screen-off state.
The conventional mobile phone supporting the function of the warning lamp is to make the lighting position of the warning lamp on the panel on different display frames in advance by the AP and store the lighting position in the memory space. When the warning light function is triggered, the AP sequentially transmits the processed display frames to the driving chip for panel display, and the driving chip receives the display frames transmitted by the AP and displays the display frames on the panel. In this way, a large amount of memory space is required to store the display frame of the warning lamp, and the AP needs to always transmit the display frame to the driving chip, so that the battery power of the mobile phone is accelerated to be consumed due to frequent transmission, which cannot meet the requirements of low power consumption and long standby time of the existing mobile phone.
Therefore, there are many disadvantages in the design of the existing warning light function, and the improvement is necessary.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention mainly aims at providing a display driver with a warning light function and a mobile device, wherein the warning light function is arranged on the display driver, so that when the warning light function is triggered, the display driver can automatically control the position of a display panel to be lightened without always transmitting a display picture frame to the display driver, thereby improving the problem of the accelerated loss of battery electric quantity caused by frequent transmission.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a display driver, comprising: a display driving circuit for driving a display panel to display; a counter counting in a plurality of counting sections; and a plurality of warning lamp settings corresponding to the plurality of counting sections respectively, wherein each warning lamp setting comprises a position track and a line length of a warning lamp on the display panel, and when the display driver is triggered to display frame data corresponding to the instant message on the display panel, the counter starts counting, so that the warning lamp is displayed on the display panel by using the position track and the line length in the corresponding warning lamp setting according to the count value of the counter and the counting section where the counter is positioned.
According to another aspect of the present invention, a mobile device having the display driver is provided, wherein the mobile device provides a display appearance mode of a screen that is never used as reference.
The foregoing summary and the following detailed description are exemplary in nature and are intended to further illustrate the invention as claimed, while other objects and advantages of the invention are set forth in the following description and drawings.

The mobile device of the present invention can provide a display appearance mode of a never-inactive screen (Always On Display, AOD), for example, the mobile device can be an AOD mobile phone, so as to effectively remind the user of the generation of the instant message by displaying the warning light.
Fig. 3A to 3E illustrate an exemplary process of triggering the warning light function on the mobile device according to the present invention, in which the display driver 30 has 5 warning light settings S (1) to S (5) and the counter 33 counts up from 0 in 5 counting sections C (1) to C (5), firstly, referring to fig. 3A, the locus of the warning light setting S (1) is a locus 301 from top to bottom on the left and right sides of the display panel 10, the length of the line segment of the warning light setting S (1) is P pixels, where P is an integer greater than 1, such as 32, and the length of the counting section C (1) is approximately equal to the height of the display panel 10, that is, the count value of the counting section C (1) is 0 to C 1 Panel_h-1, wherein panel_h represents the height of the display Panel 10. Accordingly, when the counter 33 counts in the counting section C (1), the driving circuit 31 turns on the warning lamps from top to bottom on the left and right sides of the display panel 10 based on the count value of the counter 33, and the length of the turned-on warning lamps does not exceed P pixels.
Next, referring to fig. 3B, the track of the position of the warning light setting S (2) is a track 302 from left to right and from right to left at the bottom side of the display panel 10, the length of the line segment of the warning light setting S (2) is P pixels, where P is an integer greater than 1, for example, 32, the length of the counting section C (2) is approximately equal to the width of the display panel 10 minus a first default value, that is, the count value of the counting section C (2) is C 1 +1 to c 2 =c 1 +((Panel_W-1) -Th 1), wherein panel_w represents the width of the display Panel 10, and Th1 represents a first default value, for example half the position of the last pixel of the display Panel 10 to be lit. Accordingly, when the counter 33 counts in the counting section C (2), the driving circuit 31 turns on the warning lamps from left to right and from right to left on the bottom side of the display panel 10 based on the count value of the counter 33, and the length of the turned-on warning lamps does not exceed P pixels.
Next, referring to fig. 3C, the track of the position of the warning light setting S (3) is the track 303 from bottom to top on the left and right sides of the display panel, the length of the line segment of the warning light setting S (3) is P pixels, where P is an integer greater than 1, for example, 32, the length of the counting section C (3) is approximately equal to the height of the display panel 10, that is, the count value of the counting section C (3) is C 2 +1 to c 3 =c 2 + (Panel_H-1), wherein Panel_H represents the height of the display Panel 10. Accordingly, when the counter 33 counts in the counting section C (3), the driving circuit 31 turns on the warning lamps from bottom to top on the left and right sides of the display panel 10 based on the count value of the counter 33, and the length of the turned-on warning lamps does not exceed P pixels.
Next, referring to fig. 3D, the track of the position of the warning light setting S (4) is a track 304 from left to right and from right to left on the top side of the display panel 10, the length of the line segment of the warning light setting S (4) is P pixels, where P is an integer greater than 1, for example, 32, the length of the counting section C (4) is approximately equal to the width of the display panel 10 minus a second default value, that is, the count value of the counting section C (4) is C 3 +1 to c 4 =c 3 (Panel_W-1) -Th 2), wherein Panel_W represents the width of the display Panel 10 and Th2 represents a first default value, e.g., half the position of the first pixel of the display Panel 10 to be lit. Accordingly, when the counter 33 counts in the counting section C (4), the driving circuit 31 turns on the warning lamps from left to right and from right to left on the top side of the display panel 10 based on the count value of the counter 33, and the length of the turned-on warning lamps does not exceed P pixels.
Finally, referring to fig. 3E, the track of the position of the warning light setting S (5) is a track 305 inclined downward from top to bottom at both ends of the top side of the display panel 10,the warning light is set to have a line segment length of S (5) of P pixels, wherein P is an integer greater than 1, such as 32, and the length of the counting section C (5) is equal to a third default value, i.e. the count value of the counting section C (5) is C 4 +1 to c 5 =c 4 +Tt3, where Th3 represents a third default value, e.g., a segment length equal to P pixels. Accordingly, when the counter 33 counts in the counting section C (5), the driving circuit 31 lights up the warning lamps from the top to the bottom at both ends of the top side of the display panel 10 based on the count value of the counter 33, and lights up the pixels of the warning lamps one by one at each end until the P pixels of the warning lamps are lighted up.
The process of lighting the warning light shown in fig. 3A to 3E can generate the warning light effect similar to the ticker at the periphery of the effective display range of the display panel 10, and since the driving circuit 31 uses the counter 33 to determine the position of the warning light to be lit of the current display frame, and further generates the complex warning light display effect according to the lighting time of the warning light at different positions, the application processor 20 does not need to pre-store the display frame of the warning light with complex and large quantity, and the display frame of the warning light is not required to be always transmitted to the display driver 30, so that the memory space can be saved and the problem of battery power consumption caused by frequent transmission can be improved.
The above embodiments are merely illustrative, and the scope of the invention claimed should be determined by the claims and not limited to the above embodiments.
