Abstract
The invention relates to the technical field of display, and discloses a display panel and an electronic device, wherein the display panel comprises a display area and a non-display area; the display area comprises a first display area and a second display area, the first display area is a functional area, and a plurality of first pixels are arranged on the display side; the resolution of the first display area is smaller than that of the second display area, and the non-display area is provided with a first pixel circuit electrically connected with the first pixels. By adopting the design mode, on one hand, the functional area can be successfully designed in the display panel area so as to correspondingly arrange the functional elements of the electronic equipment; on the other hand, the regularity of the edge shape of the display area can be ensured to improve the continuity and the integrity of a display picture, so that the full-screen display requirement of the electronic equipment is really met; in addition, since the first display area 1 is disposed near the edge of the second display area 2, the screen content of the second display area 2 is not greatly affected, and therefore, the screen can be independently displayed between the first display area 1 and the second display area 2.
As shown in fig. 2 to fig. 5, based on the above embodiments, in a specific embodiment, the area of the first display area 1 only needs to be sufficient to be able to correspondingly set a functional element, and the area is small, the resolution is low, and the first display area can be used as an auxiliary display area, for example, a plurality of first pixels 3 in the first display area 1 can be used for displaying clock information or logo information, etc.; further, the area of the second display area 2 can be designed to be large according to the actual display requirement of the electronic device, and the resolution is high, so that the second display area can be used as the main display area.

Since the first non-display area 41 and the second non-display area 42 are disposed to surround the first display area 1 and are close to the first display area 1, the first pixel circuit 31 is disposed in the first non-display area 41 or the second non-display area 42, so that on one hand, the light transmittance of the first display area 1 is not affected, thereby avoiding affecting the function of the functional element, and on the other hand, the transmission path of the display signal is also prevented from being too long, thereby improving the quality and stability of the display image of the first pixel 3.
As shown in fig. 4 and 5, further, the display panel may further include an external compensation circuit 91 for providing a compensation signal to the first pixel circuit 31; specifically, the external compensation circuit 91 may also be located in the first non-display area 41 or the second non-display area 42; the quality and stability of the display picture of the first pixel 3 can be improved by using the external compensation circuit 91; the external compensation circuit 91 does not affect the operation of the functional element, as in the positional arrangement of the first pixel circuit 31.

in a specific embodiment, as shown in fig. 4 and fig. 5, the first gate driving circuit 92 and the first data driving circuit 93 may be further configured to provide driving signals for a part of the second pixel circuits, i.e. the first pixel circuit 31 and a part of the second pixel circuits 51 may share the driving circuit.
As shown in fig. 2, in another specific embodiment, the display panel provided in the embodiment of the invention may further include a second gate driving circuit 94 and a second data driving circuit 95 for providing driving signals to the second pixel circuits 51; further, the first pixel circuit 31 and the second pixel circuit 51 can perform driving display, respectively.
As shown in fig. 2, on the basis of the above embodiment, further, the non-display area may further include a third non-display area 43 located at the periphery of the second display area 2; the second gate driving circuit 94 and the second data driving circuit 95 may be disposed in the third non-display region 43.
As shown in fig. 2 to fig. 5, in a specific embodiment based on the above embodiments, in the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present invention, the first pixels 3 disposed in the first display area 1 may be organic electroluminescent display pixels.
Specifically, the pixel electrode in the first pixel 3 may be an ITO electrode; further, the first pixel 3 further includes an organic light emitting layer and a cathode layer; wherein the cathode layer is a semitransparent electrode layer, such as a Mg: Ag electrode.
